Abagworo: Igbos have nothing to do with bini.. Igbos were across the Niger living in their own kingdoms.. there is nothing like Edo descendants, Edo was created in 1991.. the word "Edo" started in 1991.. they are Binis.. 90% of Ijawland was part of Western Nigeria before Gowon decided to cause division.. 2 Likes |

lordpherow98: The basics of Igbanke is Igbo but there has been heavy Edo influence owing to so many reasons. Igbanke is one of the present solid evidence of Igbo settling close to Benin even though a different ethnic group today. Igbanke identifies as Ika not Igbo. |

codemaniacs: You can't argue with me boy. I clearly wrote Bini there or you can check your quote. There were Igbos, Yorubas and Ijaws in Benin Kingdom that left at a point in history or founded new settlements nearby and beyond. I have oral evidence from my people but you can as well google documented evidences. |

Shym3xx: Instead of you to just admit to your mistake and move on, you're here trying to justify yourself. Take a good look at the bolded: As someone who actually has ancestral ties to the Aniomas in Delta State This does not mean that I'm from Delta State. There are Anioma people in Anambra State as well as other areas of Igboland. Bini soldiers have never stepped foot in Igboland so how on earth could they have captured slaves from there? The relationship between my people and the Bini was a cordial and a mutually beneficial one. Like I said, don't involve yourself in matters that do not concern you or matters of which you are ignorant. 3 Likes |

Most Nigerians are ignorant in varying degrees, Igbo peoples own mumu is that they take state boundaries as tribal boundaries. An Igbo person can demarcate themselves to the family level because there's not proper foothold for unity. Unless you can make people understand state boundaries are just that, and that so call geopolitical zones are just that, you will continue to have people displaying all kinds of ignorance. 3 Likes |

This is one of the advantages of having a centralised society like the Yoruba and Hausa or Fulani. Nobody can deny being a descendant of a particular king or kingdom in Yoruba land, but in Igbo land you have thousands of petty tribes. Whereas you have a large area like Adamawa as a subsection of the Fulani or Ekiti or Ijebu as a subsection for the Yoruba, you have thousands of villages and towns who have strong separate identities in Igboland and a lack of a collective identity is one of the disadvantages of this set up, although there are advantages over the centralised outlook. 1 Like |

Furthermore, it's only in Igboland you hear such things as Anambrarian, Abian, Imolite, Delta Ibo, etc. Other parts of the country are not stuck on states as they are on a collective identity unlike the Igbo. 1 Like |

[ quote author=OdenigboAroli post=49393676][/quote] Please you don't see the multitudes of insults we receive from these people and we continue to kiss their butt? If you like abuse me! Igbos have been unjustly wronged in this God forsaken country and we are spat on by the people who put us in this predicament in the first place? Ngozi123: Oh, shut up. If you claim you have ancestral ties to a place, doesn't that mean you're from there? Don't play semantics with. And I was going to stop posting on the thread, but the fact that you opened ya ignorant mouth to chat shitt with the aid of ya fingers is the reason why I'll post these excerpts below: The limits of the Ibo country have now been approxi- This is an account from British explorers in 1900 and according to them, Igbos were slaves all over the Delta districts and the outnumber the original inhabitants. Swallow the humble pie and accept you're wrong. Don't let me post more damning academic proofs. 6 Likes |
