Why is no one helping him stop the bleeding?
Re: Student's Leg Crushed In Lagos On His Way To School (Graphic Photos) by Johncuppa(m): 9:20am On Sep 21, 2016
And the best you can do is to snap for nairalanders to see. This is how we have bastardized prayer, praying while snapping believing God will stop the bleeding right there.

He's losing so much blood! This boy may die in a few more minutes if that bleeding is not stopped. The accident likely ruptured an artery.
If it was a ruptured artery it would be better
That leg is almost off.. His bones are visible

shocked . @OP, I'm not going to blame you, after all no one knows whether you're proficient in first-aid or not. But judging by that picture, what he needs is immediate medical treatment. His injuries are beyond first-aid.

Do you know what happened afterwards? Was he at least taken to a hospital? If so, do you know which one?

Any other information about him would be a good start. Which school does he attend (from the uniform)?. Many people would be willing to help.
I just hope he's not been left in that state with people walking by and gawping. If you have any info, send a p.m.

WTF!!!

Instead of taking photos, a tourniquet should be made and used to tie his leg to stop the blood loss. There is no way in hell that major arteries have not be severed. That injury in itself isnt fatal, but the blood loss is what can kill him and nobody there seems to be knowledgeable in basic first aid to take action.

I hope he survives it..

Bro ..there's no first aid here.

You cannot use a tourniquet here. Is is useless .only clamping the artery with an artery forceps will do.

Ooh..and that injury is fatal.if nothing is done 20mins tops...........

Points well noted.. However, A Tourniquet is the best first aid that can be applied at this time. High up the tigh and tied very very tight. Hopefully the open end of the artery has not receded beyond that point. Then rush the kid to the hospital as quickly as possible.

And like I said, the injury in and of itself (flesh wound) is not fatal, but the blood loss from the cut is what will kill him if something isnt done to stem it..

In his state as is in the picture, 20mins would be very optimistic. I see him entering into shock in under 5 minutes and bleeding out by 10.

And they left him in that position? Whatever happened to first aid? I mean...Even the OP toook time to take pictures. Na only prayers you fit offer abi?

Well, lemme pray for you too. If the same predicament befalls you (God forbid). May someone leave you sitted, take pictures of you and post it on NL in order to make FP. angry

Has it occurred to you that the average Nigerian has no first aid knowledge?

I wonder why Lagos people are onlookers, the boy should have been taken to the hospital immediately to stop the bleeding and find solution on that leg.
I wish him well, the Lord will perform his miracles on that leg.
