Please outline the possible effects of their extinction.
My bros there are effects o but I don't know for snakes tho. I was watching a documentary about how a group of hunters in a wildlife in the US began hunting wolves. They reduced the population of the wolves by 90%, but guess what happened?

There was erosion and over grazing, in fact the ground was devastated due to overgrazing by deers and antelopes. So in reality(yet some people don't believe in God), they were created to compliment each other(biology calls it commensalism, symbiosis, parasitism, etc). If the wolves were enough and not killed, they would have hunted the deers and therefore the environment would be balanced but when they were hunted, they gave the deers and antelopes a go ahead to destroy the ecosystem.

Like myself, I was thinking of eradicating flies when I become President wink but I had a rethink, flies help in decomposition. If someone shit in the bush for instance, flies would gather and decompose it, so within days it(shit) dries up and it mixes with the sand.

So basically snakes have their own purposes too and one way or the other, they benefit you and I. Cc ladyf

Snakes definitely have some advantages in our world. I have always dislike them from childhood. If we are to kill these species we are going to suffer lots of consequences. See how Demmy handsomely described advantages of insects/flies?. Yet, having too much insects can cause problems for human. Everything has a balance. Without balance, things would fall apart. I guess i hate snakes cus of their natural predatory behaviors. Yet their natural predatory behaviors are also extremely valuable to humans. Many snake species prey heavily on insects and rodents. When snake populations decline the populations of these prey items increases, often causing serious problems to people.

Many of us have a natural aversion of snakes, while many others simply hate them. However, the negative stigma that surrounds snakes is completely undeserved which is quiet common in Nigeria. Snakes are in fact extremely beneficial animals to have around but I just hate having them around though. I watch Animal Planet a lot so i know they pose pros and cons to humans. Snakes are absolutely paramount to the health of many eco-systems, the environment and to biodiversity. They are extremely valuable components to the ecological communities in which they live; playing several complex roles, including that of predators and prey angry as long as they dont prey on me and fellow human, it's all good.

Many snake species prey heavily on insects and rodents. When snake populations decline the populations of these prey items increases, often causing serious problems to people. For instance, if you have a farm, Insects and other arthropods can destroy your gardens (plants) or enter people's homes where they will be undesired. When rodent populations surge, the animals can destroy crops at an alarming rate, effecting supplies of food and industries. They can also spread many harmful diseases. It is well documented that rodents are also a leading cause of house fires, caused by the chewing of wires in walls and attics. Especially if the woods are not treated with chemical. In Trinidad for instance, it is a tropical region and they are bothered by insects. That's why in most cases they do not use wood (naggin) for their roof. They use steel.

So snakes are valuable because they are efficient at keeping the number of rodents and insects in check, without relying on damaging chemical pesticides which can degrade the environment and harm other animal species. Snakes are very effective at hunting such prey because they can crawl into small burrows and other areas that rodents use as shelters. These places are too small for other predators to get into. I heard on Animal Planet that their venoms can be used to treat cancerous disease. I dont know and I can not confirm that unfortunately undecided

This guy's get mind sha.. I can't even play with dead snake unless the head is cut off and 20 feets away from me... Surprisingly those devilish reptile can still give someone their last and most poisonous bite few minutes after their death even when the head has been cut off from the body (reflex)... So creepy..

But I'm guessing Python don't bite... I F**king hate Snake.
I met a Yoruba woman she sells snake part in the market I was touching the snake head she said if the any part cut my hand am dead instantly. Even after the snake is dead the head is forever poisoned. That's y its used for evil purpose, I just tear race ooo...
