i would be perplexed if you're truly sorry for that

mind you, I would feel the same for someone that is transitioning to atheism and says he/she feels "sorry" for not having finished transitioning

there's nothing to apologise for, its your life and choice

My point exactly. You'd deny it. It's your only play.
But have you also asked yourselves why these pastors have not done a 'healing' that's impossible to fake? Like growing of a limb? Even raising the dead can be faked. All you need is an excellent actor and makeup artist. But something equally physically impossible and clear to see should be done

Exactly

There's this famous Catholic youtuber that has no hands or legs. I don't know if you've heard of him. Just stubs where his limbs should be. So there's someone that can have faith, why has no pastor ever tried to heal him?

as soon as it becomes possible to fake, the miracle would start popping up everywhere

There was a limb-growing challenge here. Where were you when it was happening. Perhaps you'd have taken up the challenge.

Hahn offered to take it up and nobody answered him. . .As I said what about being famous? OK look at Stevie Wonder. He's a famous singer, millions of records sold, and he believes in god. What is wrong with any pastor healing his blindness? After all, everyone knows he's been blind so his story will be believed by EVERYONE.

There are rules governing healing. Fame is not one of them.

Interesting! So once you are famous, even if you believe in god you can't be healed! Wow! And can you back that up with the bible? If there's no back up, who are you to decide who your god can't and can heal?

However, THIS is from your bible. This man was rich and owned vast lands and properties so he was obviously famous. And he was healed by Paul.

"In the vicinity of that place were lands belonging to a man named Publius, the chief of the island. He welcomed us and received us cordially as his guests for three days. It so happened that the father of Publius was sick with a fever and dysentery. Paul visited him and, after praying, laid his hands on him and healed him. After this had taken place, the rest of the sick on the island came to Paul and were cured. They paid us great honor and when we eventually set sail they brought us the provisions we needed." - Acts 28:7-10

This is not what I said. Abeg read my comment. Fame is not one of the requirements does not mean that fame is ''contra-indicated''.

All I did was ask why Stevie Wonder has not been approached by a healer to prove god's glory. After all, he's a believer, and he's famous which means everyone will recognise and accept it, because everyone will be SURE its not a set up.

Who told 'healers' are interested in 'proving God's Glory'. Has Stevie Wonder come to tell you that he wants healing?

Its not a matter of Stevie Wonder coming out to tell the healers. He has admitted that there are challenges with being blind. Anyone who heals him will bring immense joy to Stevie while at the same time converting millions of atheists to Christianity. It would be a wonderful event and nobodynwould have cause to doubt again. But nobody has attempted, because it can't be done. Its not real.

Does Stevie Wonder believe in faith healing? It's one of the requirements you know.

This is just you judging him. Did Jesus not even 'heal' people who had done worse in the bible? Are there not more incredible cases in the bible? For someone who is as rich and famous as he is, to still make time to go to church regularly and openly continue to declare his faith in god, then I don't see why your 'god' cannot heal him. Or does the criteria for healing include his past actions? Are people with bad pasts instantly disqualified?

This is the default response. Is it not suspicious that those things ''that we do not understand'' have a way of happening all the time in churches and crusade grounds?

It's simple. Rational humans should generally go for the most possible option when confronting things that seem strange. We see what magicians do all the time and we know they aren't supernatural, so it is safe to assume that these miracles also have supernatural elements.

But as a freethinker, if evidence shows that it can't easily be faked, then more research should be our into it. A pastor healing an amputee on stage during a live broadcast can't easily be faked. Hence, it would be very solid proof of the supernatural. The very fact that it doesn't happen is telling in this matter.

Very many. Especially in Nigeria. Like the one in TB Joshua's church where a man who was blind from birth could identify the color blue when he was 'healed'.
These things are stage managed, I tell you.

One. A friend of my mother had an accident and lost a hand. My mum prayed for her at home. Almost ten years later, she's fully at peace with a prosthetic hand. smiley

An achievement like that should make waves. That which is postulated without evidence can be dismissed without evidence. The burden of proof is on the people who make the claim.

My theory: At least one of the requirements for the healing was not present.
