LWKM. Lucas Perez is 28 and he can not walk into Arsenal's starting line-up. TheSuperNerd, see me see trouble. I never looked at his age. I thought he was some Marshall, Rashford something that Wenger wanted to mould.
Doesn't matter if he can't walk into the team because neither can Nacho. Perez achievement last season is much more admirable than Nacho. Perez as at today is more rounded as a cf than Nacho.

You don't talk football like that my friend....

Nolito is Nolito. Alexis is Alexis.... Both can play from the wings as well as centrally. Pep chose Nacho over Nolito to lead the lines in the manchester derby. Meaning he can repeat same if he has an Alexis.

It will be a Alexis-Nacho-Sterling upfront... Simple as that (in the absence of Aguero). smiley

Same as we had Nolito-Nacho-Sterling... wink

What a lame excuse. Alexis is a superior version to Nolito. Don't even try and twist words. If pep had Alexis, he'd tried him out as a 9 before Nacho. Fact.

Not at the Copa centennario.... smiley

Vargas "the bench boy" was the lead man in attack. He bagged six goals playing as Chile's no.9.

This was Sanchez as a lone striker at the 2014 world cup. The first was Sanchez in a twin attack with Eduardo Vargas in a 3-5-2 formation. If Vargas was the no 1 striker for Chile, he would be starting when they play with one man upfront.

Xavi was a bench boy until the mid - 2000... Deco, Thiago Motta and Edmilson where the preferred players in the midfield. He made his debut subbing Guardiola does not mean he was grabbing headlines around the world.
How many endorsements did he get as a teenager? Freddie Adu was already signed on to Coca-Cola and Nike at 17. Dos Santos was even thought to be a bigger talent than Messi at the Mestalia.
Xavi had his two legs firmly in place when Deco departed.

Freddy Adu was American endorsement. How many did endorsement deals did Freddy Adu sign in Europe.

We are talking of Xavi who was the midfield general of Spain when they won the WYC in 1999 and was a key player of the Spanish Olympics squad in 2000 when Spain lost the finals to Samuel Eto'o Cameroon.

Who is Freddy Adu compared to a young Xavi. MLS record.

Crazy... because Nacho's stats are crazy also. smiley

So just live with it!!!

Nacho is worth every "hype".... Whether you buy it or not.... Especially when the "hype" is actually true and proven facts-wise.

What is crazy about Nacho's stat...see unnecessary hyping has started. You guys did the same with Mikel. Nacho has done absolutely nothing to prove he can walk in to the first 11 of a big team. He isn't getting into Tottenham, manure, Liverpool or Arsenal first 11. He is very talented, nobody is denying it. But putting Nacho over Alexis as a 9 is crazy. Abegi. Next you'll start saying he's better than Aguero.

Perez's achievement last season more admirable??

Huh?? We talking Nacho whose goal ratio even trumped Ronaldo's, Lewandowski's and Messi's as at April/May earlier this year as the 2015/16 season was winding down.

Only Suarez's edged his eventually as the season ended.

And you talk of Perez's as admirable??

Nacho's goal ratio was reported to be the best in the HISTORY OF THE EPL AND YOU DON'T CLASSIFY IT AS "ADMIRABLE"??

Okay... You're right... Perez's was admirable... While Nacho's was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!! AND CRAZYYYYYY!!!! wink

If he was a teen sensation, am sure he would have made the Spanish squad to the Euro 2000. Am not saying he was not spotted to be a good player when he was young, he basically developed quietly and rose through the rank and file of Barcelona without media hype. He bloomed in the mid 2000's... Thiago Motta, Edmilson, Philip Cocu and lastly Deco where his boss.
Iwobi will do well to emulate him in humility and work ethic

Am not sorry to say this, but I must call u all who engaged in this embarrassing argument hopeless mo'4kers. I'm really pissed to read through these craps u guys are dropping here. Who is Iwobi? Nigerian Super talent. Who is Nacho? Another Nigerian Super talent. So what's the fuse about since they are our jewels? Why pit two brothers who chase same course against each other? Why bring down one for the other just to make ur miserable self and club feel better? See them plastic fans who claim to support the super Eagles. I am sad because I am a super Eagles fan first before a Rangers and Barca fan, and we all who claim to be Eagles fans ought to be that way because charity they say...

Am very disappointed on most of u guys here. Oh how badly I miss kickoffnigeria where we cheer and loud our owns even when they are not doing so well. This forum is filled to the brim with pretenders.

Am sorry mod but am really sad.

I speak of the "2016 Copa Centennario" not 2014.

Deal with that.

Sanchez can play centrally and also drop to the wings during games to initiate attacks while the "most advanced MF" fills in the space left in the central attacking position.

So him playing upfront is strategic and not because he's the main striker.

At 2016 Centennario, Vargas led the lines.

Not true. Sanchez will play wide and Nacho up front. Arsene Wenger did not play Sanchez up front all these years. He even preferred Yaya Sam Loco and Danny Welbeck. It is just this season.
Sometimes as a manager, you change a few things. Starting Sanchez as a striker is not out of place being that he has played as a striker for Chile with more than 100 caps.
But on the flanks he uses a lot of energy by chasing back and I would like to use his energy sometimes a bit more efficiently by going behind the defenders as he is a good finisher. He has played centre forward at Barcelona. "
quote by Wenger

Against Mexico,Vargas started as the left-wing-back in a 3-4-2-1,with Sanchez leading the line on his own once again. It quickly became apparent that Vargas was at his most effective when he ran into central positions and tried to link up with Sanchez.
Coach Jorge Sampaoli opted to switch Sanchez with Vargas when Chile went 2-1 behind and this duly paid off when the Napoli winger equalised. In the second half, the duo played closer together, although it wasn't until almost the hour mark that they started operating as a pair.
Then, in the 5-0 thrashing of Bolivia, Sampaoli finally used them in tandem from the beginning for the first time in the tournament, with a diamond midfield behind. This only lasted till half-time, as Sanchez was rested for the final 45 minutes having scored eight minutes before the break.
It's not the first time that Sampaoli has deployed the duo in this way: Chile enjoyed a decent World Cup with a front pairing. The two attackers aren't too dissimilar stylistically, although Vargas is clearly not at Sanchez's level having spent last term on loan at relegated QPR.

Because Adu and Dos Santos will make the Spanish Euro 2000 squad. Adu as a kid was never close to Xavi. The class is too much, like Sanchez (Xavi) and Yaya Sam Loco (Adu).

I have told you he can play up front. I told you he played there at Udinese when Di Natale injured before Sanchez joined Barcelona. His natural role is not striking. Sanchez plays upfront when there is no good option upfront.

At Arsenal, the top strikers are weak so Arsene Wenger converted him to a Striker.

You're indicting yourself. With these images you posted. Vargas and Alexis in this formation are starting as strikers. Stop grasping at straws when you loose an argument.
You guys claimed Sanchez is not the number 1 striker for Chile, I posted formation charts where Sanchez was played as a lone forward in a 5-4-1 formation, if he wasnt their main striker, he won't be starting up top as a lone forward. Eduardo Vargas would have been leading the lines in such formation.

All these arguments are just geared to delude gullible folks that Iheanacho is better than Sanchez as a striker.
There are some arguments you just confine to your room and don't bring it to the public grin

If you call saying something as it is "hype".... Then I wonder what will be said when I say stuffs like, "Nacho has the potentials to be a CAF APOTY winner and Fifa world best/Ballon d'or winner or nominee".

The Truth will continue to be said. Be it about Nacho, Iwobi, Success or any of our Nigerian young talents coz that is what this thread is all about.

Mikel was called Okocha's heir but he has done his best part of giving us his own version of "the Mikel we never knew" and he has Given Nigeria success in international circles.... Mikel is successful. Enough of the "what ifs".
