you see exactly what I'm talking about.... thank you for the verses... the first verse is talking about the punishment that will befall the Israelites if they turn away from God. God rescued them from the bondage of the Egyptians and told them not to turn away from him.. God didn't just start punishing them for no reason.. if u read the chapter there were 2 types of punishments

1. was the punishment for turning away from him was that their enemies would overtake them.. this was because if they turn away from him he will turn away from them. God was the only reason the Israelites won their battles. they were not the strongest army or the best...it was God.. so if they turned away from him and he was no longer with them, they would be weak and their enemies would overtake them not because God wants it to happen to them but because God is no longer with them and they are powerless

2. the consequence of turning AGAINST God. if u read the verse again God said IF YOU CONTINUE TO BE HOSTILE TOWARDS ME, then i will be hostile towards you. He didn't say he would just be hostile for no reason. he warned them of the hostility and promised to reciprocate their hostility towards him if it continued... that is just... God doesn't like punishing them....that was just reciprocating their hostility towards him. even you as a human.. if someone u helped keeps attacking u won't u retaliate?? or would u just shut up and let the attack continue??

Truth be told, the texts about Jesus which appeared in the books of Josephus and Tacitus began to appear there immediately after Eusebius inherited the papal authority. He had access to the library and there interpolated the Jesus Christ mention in the scripts of those two innocent people.
