The moment i heard about this movie some months ago, i mentally rated it a "must-watch" movie. To be honest,i dunno which is more worse between this and Bovi's "its her day" movie.

I really had high hopes about this movie (come on,its a sequel to AY's 30 days to Atlanta).First of all,Olamide's performance in the first scene was disgraceful to say the least. His lip sync of his Shakitibobo song was off key, left me wondering if he had any real musical talent.

How do i put this nicely? What the hell,I'd just say it,the movie was an EPIC FAIL.Ay should have stuck with the success he recorded with 30 days in Atlanta.Damn, how hard would it be to leave when the ovation is loudest?

The movie is one which offered me two moments of laughter, when I should have been losing count. Sadly, the anticipated comedy movie has lots of jokes falling flat - jokes that make it unexciting to watch.

Watching "A Trip to Jamaica" was like sitting through a boring reunion where you find everyone and everything annoying, but still sit through, hoping to find a connect.(I had to o,afterall i paid na). Unfortunately, the connection didn't come. Not from the cast, not from the story, and certainly not from the few funny scenes!

I'd say the comedy didn't come naturally for the characters at all. Even Funke Akindele wasn't any better than AY.The movie is below par because they were basically trying too hard to amuse the audience (and you know how that ends...Disaster).

Again, the sound quality was really poor.I could barely hear most of the conversations, while some scenes were too loud. The patoranking and Cynthia morgan scenes were not even close to funny or necessary in my opinion.

When the movie ended,i was relieved, like how did i sit through this?I thought AY would surpass my expectations considering the success of his earlier movie.

If you loved "30 Days to Atlanta,' you would definitely find "A Trip to Jamaica" less interesting!

NB:These are my thoughts on the movie, you may like it afterall.

madam can you include your source??

I read this exact same thing on kamdora.com few days ago.

you made a few additions and changes eh.

At never forced any body to watch the movie. stop criticizing...if you don't like it, go and produce your own........

nawa onto Nigerians... Every movie... I repeat every movie ever made MUST BE CRITICIZED. Did u just arrive from the village. Visit imdb.com the Hollywood industry movie rating website and check if there's one single movie from the millions there that was not criticized. Some movie makers go on to do sequels or in lay man's English - Part 2, 3 and so on based on criticism. Movie makers base all their movie on criticism and i am sure that's what propelled AY to do this movie after the first. If an AY movie receives a %10 negative to 90% positive criticism then it is a good film... otherwise then the critics are telling him to go work harder. Is that too difficult to understand. Not everything is about man hate man. Nigerians sha

I didn't find 30 days in Atlanta amusing, so why would I watch a sequel when I know it would be the case of a frog and a toad arguing amongst themselves on who is prettier?

Nigerians have a very poor or should i say weird taste in comedy. You'll sit with them and watch an American comedy with funny innuendoes and real foolishness that will make u almost laugh your guts out and it is one Okon who acts like a deranged epileptic patient thats funny to them. I think we have too much people with virtually non-existent IQ in this country so movie producers make dumb stuffs for them.

And so what, whats your aim? to dissuade people from watching it. If you eventually did it. What's your achievement? That time you had used in spoiling another man's work, you could have used that time for other stuffs. Pls, let's not spoil our very own thing. Am not much of a movie type, but, I wouldn't mind watching it. Abeg lets encourage our people, let's try to see things a positive way. I believe their other scenes too in the movie that are cool, thus would also infer positive review, that way our very own things may improve in the long run indirectly.

I'm not going to hate on AY's hustle. I couldn't watch 30minutes straight of "30 days in Atlanta"even though it was free. That did not stop it from being the higest grossing Nigerian film in the cinemas till date. Neither did it stop it from entering the Guiness Book of world record.
Now, i definitely won't pay to see 'A trip to Jamaica' even if i was forced to at gun point.
Let's see how much the movie will gross at the cinemas. I'm certain it wouldn't do as good as the previous movie, largely because of the economic recession.
You still gotta love AY, he knows how to package and it sure pays him off.

OP, is it the same movie I watched that you are talking about. wow. you really have a deep emotional /psychological issue.Dear Nairalanders, the movie is worth it. AY played the Akpos role perfectly, though I expected Funke to play the Jenifa role but nonetheless, the movie was good. it has Comedy, as well as a little bit of action maybe. but it was good. OP, you don't even know how to rate a movie or criticize it. if u want to criticize a movie of such, you break it down bit by bit not just generalising.

Saw the movie and I must admit, it wasn't as good as 30days in Atlanta. Not a fan of African movies though but I felt AY could have done better and can still do better. Watched the movie with my wife whom happens to be a very big lover of Nollywood movies and she even complained about it. The OP is not in anyway negatively criticizing AY but constructively criticizing him. Even Hollywood is not free from criticism. Criticism improves the handiwork of a person.

according to the op's point she talked down one someones talent (olamide), she denigrated a bovi's movie and a lot of other crap. thats not how to review, i mean i'v read better one. the only point she might be right about is the 'sound quality' ish.

Dude do u watch Nigerian movies just because the producer spent millions in making it and u just want to pity (support) him by buying a ticket and endure untold boredom in the cinema?

Hmmm... You've lashed two comedians in one review. Lol.

However, I'd still love to see that Bovi's movie because I've always wished he was the lead in 30 Days in Atlanta. I believe he would have played the role far better than AY.

If you've watched Bovi in the "Extended Family" series, you go understand wetin I mean. Please google "Bovi Extended Family". Bovi is a very funny actor. Lol.
Extended Family is an interesting series, with General and Emabong Lol.
