Biko how do I find out if they've started processing my app? So far I've been checking thru the online portal with my GCkey log in and til now nothing yet. Is there another way to check if they've started working on my app? I didn't know it's possible to seek refund after submitting an app online and then do the paper app. Kindly put me thru. This is all new to me abeg.

I believe they've started processing your application. Please don't waste your money, except you have an urgent reason to be in Canada. Also, its going to take a while to get a refund and restart your application.

To withdraw your application use the case enquiry form.
https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx

Most of us that got stuck in this long processing times did so in peak period. Winter is here and i would like to believe that applications to Canada globally will naturally drop. Fear not. Good Luck.

I celebrate you sir! Sorry but do you mean 4 years and some months? 5 years on the dot means the visa exceeds the validity of your passport.

@awelekiti before you start tapping anointing at least ask questions to know the source. Namely 5 years visa that exceeds validity of the passport. shocked

This happened after 3 hours of picking a ticket.

Please confirm- Is that "3 hours of picking a ticket", for submission of your application?

I had planned to go submit mine on Friday too, but at the slightest sound of rain, I just carry 'covercloth' instead & stayed home.

Before then, I was chatting with the VFS customer service online to confirm the exact sum of all fees to be paid before going there- the responses were just meh- almost totally unhelpful, coming at almost 7mins apart. Had to ask the CS rep if he/she was busy; to further buttress how 'yeye-ish' the service is, instead of answering my pending query- which just required a short answer, same CS rep took that time to respond "yes, sir" to the busy question. I just logged out.

Abeg, lemme know if it will take 3hrs to submit app, sef.

Lolzz...na so.

I been don check that link, but 'visa' fees was nowhere on there, just service charge.

The CS even said it was 45k, whereas I saw about 43k when I checked http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/result.asp?countrySelect=NG&lob=trv

Edit:
Just noticed the footnote stating service charge is covered under the biometrics cost. I was adding the 11,400 service charge on top before. cheesy

No lele

Thanks bros. I played around the site today just to figure these things out. Then I used the tracking number they gave me after the biometrics capture to check on the VFS site. It showed that they have started processing it. I felt better cuz other than the receipt confirmation email from cic I haven't gotten nothing yet about any updates on my app. I'll just be patient and pray. Many thanks guys.
Meanwhile about guys complaining of slow response from the guys at VFS I didn't have the same experience o. I was done with the whole thing in less than 30mins and there was a little crowd though...at least 15 to 20 people. Except maybe because mine was online app. The one thing I noticed the second I walked in was their attitude. Rude, sassy. Especially the dude coordinating things. The guy that handled the biometrics capture itself was nice and professional. I think if u go very early you will be out in no time. Good luck guys.

Hello House,

Please i need advise as to which way forward. I am new here. Pls help a sister. My story- i applied for a spousal visa June 2015. Along the line it was taking son long and needed to see my husband so we decided to put in visiting visa thru online application (WE STATED THAT WE HAVE A SPOUSAL VISA ON GOING) . I was called for an interview in July 2016 and for no reason the lady I met refused me. It was devastating staying all alone without my husband. Anyway Hubby sent a notice of appeal and we are on that.
I read online that I can visit my husband while they continue with the spousal visa, (reason why we put in visiting visa in the first place). The Visiting Visa I put in was since May 19th 2016. Up till now I haven't heard from them. I sent a reminder to them they responded ""Your application is on queue for processing"" over a month ago. I sent them a reminder again 5days back till now no response. I pray miracle happens oh. I need to see my husband for heaven sake. Please I need your response. What should i do again? also please I don't mind if you can direct me to a thread for CANADA spousal visa on NL if there's any. Bless u people of God.

Hello ma. I applied May 14th and got a passport request September 27th. Theres also someone here who applied online May 19th too and is still waiting on them. You might just need to wait a bit more.

As for spousal visa do you mean your hubby is sponsoring you for permanent residency?

I told her all the questions u asked me i answered. Feel free to ask more. That's not even my issue cos we have sent a notice of appeal and it's on going. Good day,

As jayfierce mentioned in terms of the visit visa it is taking them a long time to process online applications. You just have to be patient, because everyone that submitted online endured long wait times so its not just you. Don't send them another email for now. Continue to follow this page, you will see people updating their files, that way you know whether yours is within the normal processing time.

I've been reading the various comments posted on this matter with keen interest. I think I quite agree with you. I once applied and my application suffered unprecedented delays. I needed to travel so I kept bombarding them with emails requesting updates, even though I received an auto response that I shouldn't send emails any further as my message would be read and action would be taken but they kept quiet. The day I wrote to them that I was going to withdraw my application and I needed my passport back within 2 days because I needed to travel to another country. That's when they now replied me. They said they observed that I had sent them 10 emails consecutively but they didn't reply because my application was still within the processing time. They now said they're working on it. The following day around 2pm, I received a text/email from vfs for passport collection. I guess my shakara worked. some applicants out of fear, could have kept quiet and be waiting for their decision which could take forever. At times, you've got to show some stubbornness.
