This facts are to prove that , God's plan
Concerning the Sabbath were not destroyed at the cross.

1) Adam and Eve were not Jewish. “God
blessed the seventh day and sanctified
it” (Genesis 2:3) before sin entered. “Sanctified” means “to be set apart for holy use.” The only ones in the Garden of Eden for whom the Sabbath was “set apart” were Adam and Eve, who weren’t Jewish.

2) “The Sabbath was made for man.” Mark
2:27. Jesus said this. It was “made” in theGarden of Eden before it was “written” down on Mount Sinai. The Sabbath was “made” for “man,” not just Jews.

3) The other nine commandments are not “just
for Jews.” God wrote “Ten Commandments” on
stone, not just nine (See Deut. 4:12, 13; Ex. 20)
.Does “Do not commit adultery,” “Do not
murder,” “Do not steal,” and “Do not bear false
witness” apply only to Jews?

4) “The seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord
thy God.” Exodus 20:10. God calls the Sabbath, “my holy day.” Isaiah 58:13. The Bible never calls it “the Sabbath of the Jews.” It isn’t their Sabbath, but God’s.

5) The Sabbath commandment is for the
“stranger” too. The fourth commandment itself
says the “stranger” is to rest on the Sabbath.
Exodus 20:10. “Strangers” are non-Jews, or
Gentiles. Thus the Sabbath applies to them too.
Read also Isaiah 56:6.

6) Isaiah said Gentiles should keep the
Sabbath. “Also the sons of the stranger … every
one that keeps the Sabbath … for mine house
shall be called an house of prayer for all people ” Isaiah 56:6, 7. Thus the Sabbath is for Gentiles and “all people,” not just for Jews.

7) “All” mankind will keep the Sabbath in the
New Earth. In “the new earth … from one
Sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to
worship before me, says the Lord.” Isaiah
66:22,23. Here God says that “all flesh” we will
be keeping the Sabbath in “the new earth.” If this is the case – and it is – shouldn’t we start now? Gentiles kept the Sabbath in the Book of
Acts. “The Gentiles besought that these words
might be preached to them the next Sabbath …
Paul and Barnabas … persuaded them to continue
in the grace of God.”‘ Acts 13:42, 43. Here saved- by-grace Gentiles kept the Sabbath (see also verse 44).
9) “The law” [of Ten Commandments] is for “all
the world,” not just for Jews. Paul wrote these
words. Read Romans 2:17-23; 3:19, 23.
10) Luke was a Gentile who kept the Sabbath.
Luke was the only Gentile who wrote any New
Testament books (he wrote The Gospel According
to St. Luke and The Acts of the Apostles). Luke
traveled with Paul and wrote, “On the Sabbath we went out of the city by a river side.” Acts 16:13. It
was the seventh-day Sabbath, the memorial of the creation (see Ex. 20:11). Both Luke and Paul knew it.

Did Christianity move the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday?

Yes they did, Sunday was a day for worshipping the sun.

Suggested answer:

https://gotquestions.org/Saturday-Sunday.html

A suggested answer:

Question: "What day is the Sabbath, Saturday or Sunday? Do Christians have to observe the Sabbath day?"

Answer: It is often claimed that "God instituted the Sabbath in Eden" because of the connection between the Sabbath and creation in Exodus 20:11. Although God's rest on the seventh day (Genesis 2:3) did foreshadow a future Sabbath law, there is no biblical record of the Sabbath before the children of Israel left the land of Egypt. Nowhere in Scripture is there any hint that Sabbath-keeping was practiced from Adam to Moses.

The Word of God makes it quite clear that Sabbath observance was a special sign between God and Israel: "The Israelites are to observe the Sabbath, celebrating it for the generations to come as a lasting covenant. It will be a sign between me and the Israelites forever, for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he abstained from work and rested" (Exodus 31:16–17).

In Deuteronomy 5, Moses restates the Ten Commandments to the next generation of Israelites. Here, after commanding Sabbath observance in verses 12–14, Moses gives the reason the Sabbath was given to the nation Israel: "Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the Lord your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the Lord your God has commanded you to observe the Sabbath day" (Deuteronomy 5:15).

God's intent for giving the Sabbath to Israel was not that they would remember creation, but that they would remember their Egyptian slavery and the Lord's deliverance. Note the requirements for Sabbath-keeping: A person placed under that Sabbath law could not leave his home on the Sabbath (Exodus 16:29), he could not build a fire (Exodus 35:3), and he could not cause anyone else to work (Deuteronomy 5:14). A person breaking the Sabbath law was to be put to death (Exodus 31:15; Numbers 15:32–35).

An examination of New Testament passages shows us four important points:

1) Whenever Christ appears in His resurrected form and the day is mentioned, it is always the first day of the week (Matthew 28:1, 9, 10; Mark 16:9; Luke 24:1, 13, 15; John 20:19, 26).

2) The only time the Sabbath is mentioned from Acts through Revelation it is for evangelistic purposes to the Jews and the setting is usually in a synagogue (Acts chapters 13–18). Paul wrote, "to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews" (1 Corinthians 9:20). Paul did not go to the synagogue to fellowship with and edify the saints, but to convict and save the lost.

3) Once Paul states "from now on I will go to the Gentiles" (Acts 18:6), the Sabbath is never again mentioned. And

4) instead of suggesting adherence to the Sabbath day, the remainder of the New Testament implies the opposite (including the one exception to point 3 above, found in Colossians 2:16).

Looking more closely at point 4 above will reveal that there is no obligation for the New Testament believer to keep the Sabbath, and will also show that the idea of a Sunday "Christian Sabbath" is also unscriptural. As discussed above, there is one time the Sabbath is mentioned after Paul began to focus on the Gentiles, "Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ." (Colossians 2:16–17). The Jewish Sabbath was abolished at the cross where Christ "canceled the written code, with its regulations" (Colossians 2:14).

This idea is repeated more than once in the New Testament: "One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. He who regards one day as special, does so to the Lord" (Romans 14:5–6a). "But now that you know God — or rather are known by God — how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable principles? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again? You are observing special days and months and seasons and years" (Galatians 4:9–10).

But some claim that a mandate by Constantine in A.D. 321 "changed" the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday. On what day did the early church meet for worship? Scripture never mentions any Sabbath (Saturday) gatherings by believers for fellowship or worship. However, there are clear passages that mention the first day of the week. For instance, Acts 20:7 states that "on the first day of the week we came together to break bread." In 1 Corinthians 16:2 Paul urges the Corinthian believers "on the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income." Since Paul designates this offering as "service" in 2 Corinthians 9:12, this collection must have been linked with the Sunday worship service of the Christian assembly. Historically Sunday, not Saturday, was the normal meeting day for Christians in the church, and its practice dates back to the first century.

The Sabbath was given to Israel, not the church. The Sabbath is still Saturday, not Sunday, and has never been changed. But the Sabbath is part of the Old Testament Law, and Christians are free from the bondage of the Law (Galatians 4:1-26; Romans 6:14). Sabbath keeping is not required of the Christian—be it Saturday or Sunday. The first day of the week, Sunday, the Lord's Day (Revelation 1:10) celebrates the New Creation, with Christ as our resurrected Head. We are not obligated to follow the Mosaic Sabbath—resting, but are now free to follow the risen Christ—serving. The Apostle Paul said that each individual Christian should decide whether to observe a Sabbath rest, "One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind" (Romans 14:5). We are to worship God every day, not just on Saturday or Sunday.

One of the biggest lies in christaindom is that Jesus changed the Sabbath day or that the Sabbathday was meant only for the Jews.
Jesus never did away with the 10commandments. the Sabbath was created and sancified by God even before man sinned. no other day was sancified and set apart by God. and only God's decision is the most important factor in deciding which day is the Sabbath day.
Why was this missing from the Apostle's letter to the gentiles in Acts 15?

Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:

25 It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,

26 Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

27 We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth.

28 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;

29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.

Acts 15 24-29

It will be wrong to claim without proof that the addressee were already keeping the sabbath when this was written.

What of Job? All he did were recounted but nothing was said about his observing the sabbath. Neither Abraham nor Enoch not forgetting Noah!

If you imply that Jesus worshipped on the Sabbath simply to find "the lost sheep of Israel," why then was Jesus going around preaching? Were Jews found then only in the temple on the Sabbath?

They were found both in and out of the temple, there's nothing restricting Him from ministering out of the temple.

DoctorAlien:

You still have not answered why you would keep nine of the commandments and refuse to keep the fourth one.

Jesus came to give us the proper interpretation of the Law. He did not changed them but rather revealed their true meaning since He gave them in the first place. The OT laws were shadow and types of what Christ came to do and when Jesus came He unveiled them as He was the real One to fulfil what we could not do. The OT ceremonial laws of shedding the blood of animals every year to atone for their sins since the OT saints could not keep the laws were no longer necessary. Christ came as the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. His blood was shed once and for all to pay for the eternal penalty of our sins and to offer His blood for our atonement. If you insist on keeping the laws that the OT saints could not keep and you refuse to trust in the One who has not only kept but fulfilled and properly interpreted the moral laws you will be behaving like those who died in the wilderness because of unbelief.

DoctorAlien:

Prove that Jesus did secular work on the Sabbath day, or that He broke the provisions of Exodus 20:8-11.

Jesus created the cosmos in 6 days and rested on the 7th, not that He had to rest but because He wanted us to enter into His rest. The Sabbath law was a command given to the Israelites so as to remind them of their deliverance from Egypt. This was not commanded either before or after the Mosaic law. Jesus came to tell us the real reason why He instituted the Sabbath day and that was for us to rest from our labours of keeping the commandments, which the OT saints could not keep but for us to trust in Him who has kept and fulfilled them with His finished work on the cross. We become righteous not by keeping the OT commandments but by trusting in Him who enables us to keep His commandments by His grace.

Paul was not referring to the Sabbath. in that verse the sabbath is a Holy day set outside by God not Paul. Jesus said that it is better for Heaven and Earth to pass away than one dot or T of the ten commandements to be abolished, which includes the Sabbath day.

Jesus did not come to destroy the law but came to give the proper interpretation of what He had given before the religious folks messed it up. He also came to reveal what was concealed in the OT making us understand that the Sabbath was made for man and not man for Sabbath.

God's rest day doesn't necessarily mean Saturday, it means to work 6 days and rest on the 7th and this was for our benefit (Mark 2:27). This was truly not for the Jews but for all of mankind. God's blessing and hallowing of the 7th day did not apply to the post fall but the pre fall, when everything that God made was perfect. Jesus who is the Creator is also the redeemer of mankind. He knew the purpose why He created the 7th day and it was for us to enter into His rest.

Sabbath in the Bible means rest. God set the pattern for mankind to rest after working for 6 days. This is why we still have the 7 week day since creation. This was made for man to rest and remember our Creator and worship our redeemer. The word Sabbath doesn't mean Saturday, Sunday or even the Seventh day, it only means rest. It means if you work for 6 days take a kit kat on the 7th before you break down, and while you are resting remember your Creator and redeemer and worship Him. There are nations where you Saturday and Sunday are working days are you saying that Christians should not work on those days? or that they should not live in those countries? Let us not be legalistic, this attitude is what Jesus came to correct when the Pharisees made rules for folks not to do any work on Sabbath days but they would definitely not allow their sheep that fell into a ditch on such days to die without rescuing them. The Sabbath was made for man's benefit and not for man to be enslaved to the Sabbath's rules (Mark 2:27).

DoctorAlien:

Where does the Bible say that keeping GOD's commandments is having agape love?

Love is one of the fruit of the Spirit after we have believed the finished work of Christ on the Cross.

Read Romans 13:8-10; Galatians 5:13-18; Matthew 22:37-40; 7:12

DoctorAlien:

How can you love GOD?

I reiterate my point by quoting the excerpt below:

Our fulfilling the law in loving others is not the ground of our justification. The ground of justification is the obedience and blood-shedding of Christ alone, appropriated through faith alone before any other acts are performed. Our fulfilling the law is the fruit and evidence of being justified by faith.

OLAADEGBU,

Which day did the Israelites keep as the Sabbath in the Bible?

Saturday of course. I again quote an excerpt from the article posted earlier to buttress my point:

The Apostle Paul said that each individual Christian should decide whether to observe a Sabbath rest, “One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind” (Romans 14:5). We are to worship God every day, not just on Saturday or Sunday.

DoctorAlien:

You skipped my question: how can we love GOD?

God first loved us when He gave His only begotten Son to pay the eternal penalty for our sins and when we respond to His love He sheds His love abroad our hearts and by His grace we begin to produce the fruit of love, to love God and our neighbours.

Hello OLAADEGBU my brother, greetings.

Having secretly followed your discussion with other notably contributors like: DoctorAlien and the rest, I felt as did by Priscilla and Aquila (Acts 18:26) , to take you aside and explain these things (as concerning the sabbath) more accurately to you.

Honestly speaking, you seems more interested in diverting from notably objections raised by DoctorAlien such as: 1. What is love? 2. How do we love God? And now add mine 3. What is sin?

Personally, I use no philosophy or human wisdom when dealing with faith matters, as I enjoyed savouring the undiluted truths from the pages of the bible concerning doctrines and teachings of this magnitude. And so if by any chance you feel competent and ready to take the three questions mentioned above, please do so strictly biblically. As the answers are readily available in the bible, and one need not manufactured any.

Yes, it is true that I have so much to contribute to the topic at hand. But before then, answering those three questions will set the tone for our journey (it will be a journey because we will go to the very genesis of this matter; indepth analysis).

Please, kindly put aside all preconceived ideas about the sabbath and await a replenish and refreshing thoughts from the presence of the "Lord of the sabbath". Trust you're interested?

Bye now.

5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. 6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
Rom 14:5-6

If in the wisdom of early believers, tgey agreed on Sunday to worsbip fine. What Sabbathwas to the Jews is not what it is for Chriztians today. Jesus Himself is our Sabbath.

9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. 10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. 11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
Heb 4:9-11

This not what Paul meant by one esteemeth one day above the order.
To understand the Bible you need to look at it from every possible angle and take into consideration every Bible verse concerning the issue.Paul cannot instruct people to worship on a day different from what God commanded.

I will get you more details on this topic.
