Nigerians want to diversify the agricultural sector but yet instead of sponsoring students to go for agriculture related courses to change the this sector, they're sponsoring more student to do medicine. How has this medicine helped our economy?all the doctors graduating from our university, how have they helped our economy, instead they're even going abroad for greener pastures. If Nigerian government really want ppl to be interested in the agricultural sector, this sector must be made attractive by awarding scholarships, job assurance after study and good pay as a worker.

Southerner's definition of development/civilization: Ability to speak, write or dress in English.

It is sad to see this type of news. I wonder how much would have been spent by the government in buying their ticket, paying their fees and maintaining them abroad yearly for the next 6years.
These funds could have been used to build and equip a state of the art Jigawa state teaching hospital with a functioning college of medicine which can train students in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, medical laboratory science, physiotherapy, radiography and nursing. Imagine the number of students in each profession to be trained. Imagine the number of Nigerians to be employed in such an institution. The possibilities are endless.
The government can privatise it under a public/private partnership. We need to wean ourselves off the 'abroad mentality' and bring that quality that we crave to our country.

They teach in English and they teach you Chinese in the first year for you to be able to get around. I am a student of Shenyang medical college but it's not one of the best though .. The governor is definitely trying to make a good name for himself , but it doesn't matter because this students will be medical doctors and that's all that matters. Imagine having so much zeal to study medicine , scoring above 250 four times and still not been chosen by the school. It's a failed system and nobody should come here and preach about building medical schools in Nigeria.. They'd rather spend $100,000 usd yearly then release $20million for that.This people are politicians and only a miracle or Godsent can make that happen.
