CHAPTER 14 : ONIEL VS TEMPEST.

Little temi flinched again on his bed as he heard another thunder clap tear through the silence of the night. It has been going on for awhile. When the first thunder clap woke him up in the dead of the night, he had gone to his mom for comfort but his mother, who was about to get busy with her boyfriend that cozy night, had rebuffed him by saying "don't worry dear it's just a freak lightning storm, nothing unusual, go to your room it will clear up pretty soon" "mom!" he protested. "babe go take care of the boy" temi's mother's boyfriend added but his mother who would not have any disturbance now that she was too close to having him give her the money she had been asking; got up from the bed covered herself and did all but drag temi back to his room, shut the door then went back to her boyfriend to seal the deal.

Now back in his room still overcome with terror, Temi fortified himself with his bed covers and pillow, closed his eyes and wished for the thunderstorm to stop. Whenever a lightning flash reflected in his room, He would close his eyes and try to think of something else that would help him forget the fear of thunder clap that he knew would follow. but When the thunder clap finally sounds, whatever happy place he was at that moment would disappear and complete dread would replace them, especially at the times when sometimes he would hear what he believes to be a distant roar. Mum lied he thought, it's no ordinary storm.
Temi being the overly curious boy that he was, wondered what on earth was going on outside. Strengthening his resolve and steeling his nerve, he jumped from his bed open the windows and peered outside to see what it looked like in the storm. And he did it just in time to see a large streak of lightning bolt of an unbelievable length and an equal amount of unbelievable branches, trace through the sky turning night to day and following in its wake a ferocious thunder clap that made temi's heart jump up to his mouth. Looking up more closely he saw what looked like a fire ball descending from the skies and from its trajectory Temi realized in terror that it was headed for their house. Alarmed he rushed to his door and tried to open it but he was unable to. His mom had locked it from the outside. "moooom!" he yelled, but his mother who was lost in her lust was screaming too in pleasure so loud that it prevented her From hearing her son's cry for help. MOM! MOM! MOM! MOM! he screamed desperately and by the time the idea to jump out through the window to escape came to him; it was too late : O'Neil crashed into Temi's room with such force that the flames surrounding his body dispersed in a circled wave all over the house, it's heat incinerating everything around the room including little Temi whom what remained of him were charred meat over a skeletal frame.

Few minutes after O'Neil crashed into the room, tempest followed him, he grabbed him by his neck, held him up with flashes of lightning coming off it's body and said "you dissapoint me Nephilim. I had expected more from you. You're all flames and no heat." he Jested, "which only adds insult to injury.... For the mere thought of my brother meeting his end by your hand. Makes me more angry" he said as he fired a bolt of lightning into O'Neil while he held him.

Before then, They've been battling for a while, and to O'Neil the battle had seem one sided. Whatever he did to inflict damage upon his opponent, was futile. when their battle started O'Neil had first blasted him with a ball of fire and tempest had dodged it, he was made of lightning so it only makes sense that he can move just as fast. In retaliation tempest blasted O'Neil with lightning and it had connected, if he wasn't using fire as his body armour he would have died from the blast. Making another attempt at tempest O'Neil shot pockets of concentrated heat into the sky and made it rain huge balls of fire on tempest but it also didn't work.
Tempest swept the skies with him, tossing him from one thunder cloud to another and when push finally came to shove, he had Resorted to exchanging punches enveloped in flames with tempest, who returned the gesture by dealing him lightening packed punches. They fought all over the skies, with O'Neil leaving a trail of yellow and red in his wake while tempest on the other hand was literally followed around by lightning blue streaks. After awhile of crackling thunder storms and roaring flames that besieged the sky. O'Neil was eventually blasted out of the sky by a powerful lightning strike, that sent him crashing down into a two storey building and for a moment he blacked out. When he came to, he found himself being held up by tempest. With his body so weak and near breaking point, he was about to resign himself to his fate, when from out of nowhere he heard a lady scream AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH! and cried a name "Temiiiiii!". Seizing the opportunity created by the distraction, O'Neil broke himself free from tempest's grip and shot himself away from his presence. But tempest who would not have it, quickly pursued him and in a bid to stop him, tempest started hurling lightening bolts at O'Neil who evaded them. most of the bolts got absorbed by the ground but O'Neil's eyes caught one that struck a tree and immediately caught fire. And from that little demonstration O'Neil got an idea. it was crazy, dangerous and came with a high risk of failure But to O'Neil all that was of little interest for he was exhausted, tired, injured all over and was running out of Time. O'Neil flew to the highest point of a building and waited for tempest there. The spirit who saw an opportunity to strike down O'Neil once and for all: summoned a huge bolt of lightning and hurled it at O'Neil. As The bolt menacingly fly toward O'Neil, he closed his eyes, stretched out his hand, took a deep breath then waited for the lightening bolt to strike him. Time seemed to slow down around him as he switched on his fire homing beacon mentally when he felt the prickling surges of the bolt making contact with his body, all noise around him were shut out as he concentrated heavily on the approaching bolt and the heat it carries.... Reaching down deep he called forth the heat and made it materialise to the surface and to the complete surprise of the storm spirit, O'Neil absorbed the bolt into his body. He felt the heat re-energize his body and then a few seconds later he bursts into a bright orange colored flame too hot for even tempest to handle, for he withdrew at the moment he felt his skin burn from the excess heat.

O'Neil now glowing wit revitalized flames, blasted tempest with a column of flames that was alot hotter than he was used to. 'So lightening carries this much fire power' he asked himself as he created whips of flames and started to flog tempest with it. The storm spirit tried to evade all the attacks but it was impossible. O'Neil who have had his fill of flogging.... blasted tempest with another column of fire and this time completely engulfing him in it. Making tempest howl in pain as he turned into a lightening bolt and shot himself into the clouds, which brewed for a few seconds then belched out tempest who had flew in gravely injured, completely whole and restored.

"A spirit is only as powerful as it's source of existence, when will you realise that I am indomitable!" the storm spirit yelled bragging as he made a move for O'Neil with lightning bolt in hand. O'Neil who now saw the way to defeat tempest from the spirits little outburst replied him "tsk....tsk... Tsk... You spirits sha, you always like to cóbaà yourselves with your own mouth" he said as he blasted a column of fire towards tempest, who dodged but was confused to see O'Neil still smiling. "what are you smiling about, have you finally gone mad in your hopelessness" he was asking mid sentence when he felt his form Flickr. And and before O'Neil could reply, Tempest realized what had just happened and his smug face became filled with dread. "I wasn't aiming for you, I was going for the huge storm clouds that have been following you around since this battle started." O'Neil said "how did you know " the spirit asked surprised and O'Neil replied "you just told me yourself that your existence is completely dependent on a natural source. Figuring out that it was that huge storm cloud wasn't hard at all, seeing as you are literally made of storm clouds yourself." O'Neil explained, pointing at the huge cloud he continued "am guessing that if they go, you go." when it dawned on the storm spirit that O'Neil had discovered his weakness through his careless rambling Tempest changed into a storm dragon, his most most powerful form, in a bid to end O'Neil before he could go anywhere near the cloud. Spreading humongous wings over the storm cloud, he said to O'Neil " come and die!" and immediately O'Neil shot himself in flight towards the cloud. The dragon roared and a tornado blew straight from his mouth and engulfed O'Neil , it rotated so fast that it gained ground and started to destroy things along its path. Cars, trees and even houses without strong foundations were sucked up by it. O'Neil who was trying to avoid getting hit by another lightening that generated from inside the tornado couldn't keep up with its rotating speed. One dose of lightning bolt was all he could handle; for although he absorbed the heat from tempests lightning bolt, every other thing that a bolt of lightning was composed of struck him and almost killed him.

Spiralling to his death in the tornado, O'Neil shot random jet streams of flames from his eyes towards the tornado in other to destabilise it but it didn't work not until he added more fire power into it from his mouth, His flames Burned so bright that it's heat created a path for him to squeeze through. Which immediately closed back as he got out. Engulfing himself in flames he shot himself straight for the huge storm cloud behind Tempest with a speed and force so powerful he broke through the giant storm dragon and straight into the cloud, he flew straight to the core.... Ignoring the little stings of lightning bolts striking his body. then at the center he gathered and concentrated heat in himself then ignited in a monumental explosion so large that its heat wave cleared out the huge storm cloud that covered the town, and as tempest the storm spirit faded, he said "don't think you've won, for it is my deepest pleasure to tell you that in two weeks, the prince of the sky will be claimed by his father. When that happens, my brother and I will be revived to join all the other sky spirits in service to him. And according to another piece in the prophecy.... ***To storm, fire will fall*** he will use me to kill you" "what prophecy.... Who is this prince" O'Neil asked and in reply the storm spirit chuckled and announced "Jason Orji, the prince of the skies will kill you!" and after saying that, tempest bellowed in laughter as he disintegrated into nothingness. O'Neil who was dazed in shock, from having heard that his best friend was a Nephilim, heard the distant scream of someone whose voice he recognized as Esther. Remembering that he had left his newest friends in battles of their own, he snapped out of his trance and ran back towards were he heard Esther's scream. When he got there he found Esther crying over a bloodied headless body, "Is that Ahmed" O'Neil asked recognising the clothes on the body and Esther nodded still weeping profusely. "where's Jacob " O'Neil asked again and this time the dreadful familiar voice of Lucy replied "in the bottomless pit where unkillable beasts like him belongs, I sent him there, he won't be fulfilling any prophecy now that he's continuously falling into an endless dark abyss" she said.
O'Neil turned to see Lucy the demon holding Ahmed's head up like a trophy with one of her vectors. "oh I had no intention of killing this one " she shook Ahmed's head when she saw O'Neil looking at It. "But when I tried to kill the girl there for taking out all my demon allies, this mook..." she said shaking the head again as she spoke "....suddenly appeared in front her and I killed him instead in frustration. She is a troublesome girl to kill but Her guard was down, it was my only opportunity to do it and this idiot got in the way!" she said angrily as she tossed the head away. And as if Esther Was waiting for her to do that all along, she raised her head up to look at Lucy with such a malicious intent that O'Neil could feel the air turn to poison then said one word : " Disappear!" and as she said that the entire ground as far as O'Neil could see in all direction started to rumble.


"what are you doing" O'Neil asked and Esther replied "putting an end to everything".
