As a side note, I watched a documentary last night on Al Jazeera, 'The girls of Taliban' and it portrays the way Islam sees and treats females. It's not very nice I must say. They kill dreams and ambitions of young girls by brainwashing and instilling fear with their crazy teachings straight from the Quran. How can you subject young girls to cramming only the Quran from 6.30am to 4pm every single day?? With absolutely Nothing else!! No chance absolutely for them to express themselves.
They make them see other people's ways as demonic that must be killed and their own ways be spread all over the world...

Rahama Sadau will have been just another mediocre actress chained by the shackles of religion created by hypocrites of the first order if she hadn't liberated herself and done that video..

Former Kannywood star, Rahama Sadau is in the United States and has shared footage from one of the studios she is currently working with in Hollywood.

Rahama became a household name after she got into trouble with Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MOPPAN) for ‘hugging and cuddling’ in a music video.

Despite the controversy that trailed her ban from Kannywood, she got invited to Hollywood by Grammy Awardee Akon and Jeta Amata, one of Nigeria’s most respected filmmakers.

Rahama is believed to have left Abuja aboard Turkish Airlines to Los Angeles and her last post from ABUJA clearly shows that she was willing to take the bold step despite caution from a spiritual leader that was shared on Facebook.

She wrote on her gram;
You are valuable and irreplaceable. If you are ever told otherwise, do not believe it. Just try and be yourself even 4 ONCE!!!

Rahama shared footage of a court room scene currently getting shot with a lot of cameras in the background as she chats away with her white companion.

A rather unfortunate nuance heavily prevalent on Nairaland is that most people have deep myopia when it comes to criticizing other peoples comments. They are quick to read half a paragraph and because they have deeply ingrained biases, they launch a vile (bile-filled) attack with strong presumptions that have little basis or bearing on the realities on ground. I only pointed out that as a Muslim Woman living/working in a West African country in one of the most deeply Islamic regions, she carries a heavy burden from Family, Friends and Religious groups. each step she takes in this decision to thread the less-beaten part only exposes her to threats to her life. It is a bold move and it is encouraging especially when you get support (real support) from the home front. should she return home tomorrow and face negative consequences of her action.. i doubt the mealy-mouthed critics on this forum will come out in force to back her up. to put it in perspective, how many of you will beat the streets in protest or stand with her.?
