when I'm in school, I don't watch any games, I just follow on Twitter and livescores. I actually don't watch a lot of games, even at home, I no dey watch TV at all sef, didn't watch Olympics and haven't watched any FIFA-organized international competitions since the 2015 U-17 World Cup (just watched the semifinals sef)

There is a viewing center center in front of school, that's where most guys watch games, I dey fear to reach that side alone, before dem go mistakenly break my head in the middle of argument cheesy

every viewing center around school de safe

At least I've watched matches in all of them around school as at 2014 though

Well, i watched the full 90mins of that game.
Ibe was a second half sub., just at commencement of second half.

Truth be told *In TheGoodJoe's voice* 'Aibe' is a 'Hype'. I only saw a flash of him in the whole 45mins. He tried to make 1 run at the edge of Liverpool's 18yards box bt was dispossesed.

See, Ibe is nt as good as any of the wings options we have in the Super Eagles. That is why i have problems with all these crave for Anglo-Nigerian players. We should invite them bc they are English born and elligible to play for us? They should be invited only if they are better than the players we currently parade.

Who is 'Aibe' better than from this list of wings options:

V. Moses
Alex Iwobi
Moses Simon
Ahmed Musa
Imoh Ezekiel
Isaac Success
Recall also that Etebor and Iheanacho can be played as wings options.

Even if we form 3 Super Eagles teams Ibe cannot make any of the teams. Let us go after better prospects abeg.

I would not dispute your assertions, I have said that the coaching style of English football places greater emphasis on stamina, strength, and team discipline as opposed to skill.

Sometimes because of that stringent team structure and discipline you may not see a player's full repertoire of technical ability. Believe you me, Ibe can do more he deserves a call up and let's see him compete you will be pleasantly surprised.

His name is Ibe forget all these oyibo were deh spoil ee name, Ibe has turned to Aibe.

Obaje Breaks Silence Over Spartak Moscow Move – I Did A Two Hour Medical After Scoring Twice In Test Games But…..

The top scorer in the recently concluded Nigeria Professional Football League Godwin Obaje of Wikki Tourist has broken his silence over the true state of his proposed move to Spartak Moscow of Russia.

Various reports has claimed that the 19 year old failed his medical while some are of the opinion that he didn’t impress the coaches during his trial period, but the forward insist none of that happened.

In an EXCLUSIVE chat with Owngoalnigeria.com in Kaduna, when he came to watch Wikki Tourist pre season game against local side KJ United, the soft spoken forward lifted the lid on his planned move abroad.

” I scored twice in a test game despite the cold, which I must say wasn’t easy for me to cope, but God almighty made it possible for me to do well in the game” Obaje told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” The club invited me over for a medical which lasted two hours, they say am fine I don’t have any issue but instead there are issues surrounding my impending transfer base on negotiations with my club in Nigeria.

” Am shock to read that I failed trials, some said I failed medicals. I have the medical report here with me to prove people doubting my story, but I won’t go that far.

” There’s a time frame for Spartak Moscow and I to conclude talks on a deal, if it doesn’t happen, I have other options lined up which the world will get to know very soon”.

The politics of football is so murky and not clean.

I know a U18 player of Nigerian origin scored a hat trick and three assists in a match with the U23's at a premiership side while on trial .

Was offered a contract and then it was withdrawn essentially the HOD of recruitment and the Managers preferred agent was not in on the deal. So it simply collapsed, I have too many of these stories.

I've been erroneously referring to him as Coulibaly. Some of these Franco phone names confuse me. Diarra, Diawarra etc

Truth is that Traore wouldn't have developed if he was comfortable on the Barca bench or with the team B.
Martin Caeseres had to move on loan to Juve to fulfil his potential because the minutes aren't coming at Barcelona. There are lots of examples

Training at the biggest club and playing for them may not necessarily open the door for you.

Sometimes you have to bite the bullet take your chance be a man and prove yourself in the open gallery of football.

Godwin Ekpolo spent donkey years at Barcelona playing youth football and on the B team, waiting for a chance that never came.

He's now playing at Fleetwood Town fc, playing kick and rush protein muscle and stamina football. I don't who is agent is but he will not be able to showcase himself in that team, well at least it's going to find it very very difficult.

Again, La liga is not a famed for producing top quality "home grown" defenders.

The best defenders in La liga are mostly imports who got their education else where.

Home grown defenders from La liga usually don't hit the tilt.
Osede as promising as he was for Real Madrid B is slugging it out at Bolton in ligue 1.

Am happy Uche Agbo is only on loan at Granda.

Their production line of midfielders and strikers is top notch but when it comes to defenders, its a bit meeeeh

Managers and beuracrats upstairs take bongs from players and agents to push through deals.

I wonder how a guy like Harry Rednapp is walking around a free man when all investigations have proven he took bongs from players.

City has a poor conversion rate and I expect Guardiola to keep drilling them in training to improve.

So, to improve the team's conversion rate will require work on the training ground. After that, the game time is to show or test how far the team progressed. Not necessarily to improve the players finishing.

Nacho will learn more from these drills.
My take on Iheanacho is that he should explore a loan option next summer.
He can't afford to be on the bench in a world cup year. Else he will be confined to the bench in Russia.
The super Eagles aren't being coached by Eguavoen or the likes anymore.

Rohr will have no qualms starting Anichebe, Ideye, Success or anyone who is in form over Iheanacho.

I Can name at least 20 defenders trained in Spain better than their english counterparts.
Pique, Ramos, Puyol , Alba, Baily, Godin, Carvajal,Bartra,Juanfran,Alves,Nacho,Marcelo,Inigo Martinez, salgado,Gaya,Bernat,Azpi,Bellerin,Javi Martinez thats off my head. Don't say that again o undecided

you even missed one sef. The only CB that Guardiola is trying to lure to Man city now, the one from Athletic Bilbao, Laporte. Presently, I think the FIFA11 list is made up of mainly players from the spanish league even the defence section too

In my post I layed emphasis on the word "home grown"

Some of the names you mentioned do not tick that box.
Belerin, Pique were educated in England.
Marcelo, Godin and Alves spent their formative years in South America.

There are very few classy defenders who rose through the rank and file of Spanish football, from the academies without being educated else where.

The coaches in Spain spend more time training midfielders and strikers more than they do with defenders.

The pace of the game in the premiership is at blistering pace and very physical.

Pique came to United and flopped couldn't cope. Not all of these central and wing back defenders will be able to hack it in the Premiership.

When Allardyce was at Bolton his son Craig was an agent and it was an open secret if you wanted in, you knew who you had to deal with.

Saying that so also is Ferguson's son so also is David Moyes's brother, so also is Guardiola's brother. Conflicting interests and football is rife and so is corruption.

You may find this strange and possibly disagree.

But I would say it is easier for a premiership team to buy an African youth player with all the intrigue of TPI and cost of transfer fees.

Than a homegrown player of African origin without pedigree and no transfer fees. Even when the home grown (UK) player is better. The reason simply Egunje

But I think it's also very difficult for a player of Nigerian origin who isn't coming from one of the more established clubs to be considered. Particularly for the U21youth teams and below.

It might be conflicting intrest but it is not corrupt. A coach does not have the power to tell his brother not to be an agent. The practice might open the door for corruption but on it's own it is not.

OYIBO WALL – Rohr Lines Up Alternative As
Fear Looms Over Game Time For Ekong At Gent

There are palpable fears that William Troost-Ekong will struggle to get game time at Belgian side Gent after a successful loan spell in Norway with FK Haugesund.

Ekong has been out on loan since joining the
Belgian side but he is expected to push for a first team spot after impressing for Haugesund in the recently concluded season in Norway.

After a splendid performance for Nigeria at the Rio 2016 Olympics, his regular run of games in
Norway where he captained the team to a
respectable finish in the league has helped his
international career blossomed.

The Dutch-born Nigerian defender has formed a
formidable partnership with Leon Balogun in the
heart of Nigeria defence, a combination that is
now known as “Oyibo Wall”.

Coach of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr is
reportedly worried that Ekong could be starve off game with Gent, as the back four of Lasse
Nielsen, Stefan Mitrovic, Rami Gershon and Nana
Asare appears to be untouchable for now.

The coach has already advised the 23 year old to switch to a tougher league, but it appears even at Gent he could struggle to get game time when his registration is done in January.
