Sorry about that!
We did our court wedding in Nigeria 2 months after my wife got her F2A visa. The question is, hope is allowed to be wedded shortly after getting the visa before leaving the country.

Please have the petitioner, beneficiary, or legal representation write LagosIV@state.gov with your question.

Hello, VO, I would like to know if EB3 visa interview can be rescheduled. If yes, when will the new date be? In 1 or 2 months ?

Due to our volume, rescheduling IV interviews will be at least 90 days from the original date unless you can show extraordinary circumstances for the expedited appointment. Expedited appointments are rarely granted.

VO

This is a great job you are doing pls I have two questions for VO
Pls I am an f2a vp an I don't provide my primary school certificate hope it will not be required
My second question is that if I am asked during interviews about places I lived can I also provide those places have lived more 6month but not on my form and lastly what are the likely question for my visa type
Thank you

Bring whatever documents you have that will help establish your identity and your relationship with the petitioner. Regarding where you've lived, when you're interviewed, you'll be required to provide a police certificate for any place you've lived for more than 6 months. Since this information will not match the form, you should also have a good explanation as to why. (Please don't try to hide this information as we have excellent records.) That is about all I can tell you. I'm sure you can anticipate the questions you might be asked during the interview.

VO

When can the rescheduling be done? Is it when one's case file arrives at the US Consulate? My case file is still at NVC but I have received my interview appointment letter for January interview.

To prevent any issues either upon visa printing or at the border, you should present a passport with at least 6 months remaining when you attempt to enter the United States. Otherwise, you risk being sent back to Nigeria even if everything else is in order.

Thank you very much, I actually plan on traveling this December as soon as I gt my visa approved, my passport is to expire July 7 2017. I believe I still Have more than six month so there shouldn't be a problem or should I have a reason to worry? Or is possible for me to renew my passport after getting my visa approved?

There is a small chance we will be closed Tuesday, December 13, 2016, for a Nigerian holiday. I recommend you keep your original appointment, but it is up to you.

As earlier said, the risk is yours. We require at least six months validity on passports to print. If your visa is approved, and you choose to get new passports, we will hold printing at your request until we receive your new passports. However, that may come close to the expiration dates on the medical (valid for 6 months) and police reports (valid for one year). The consular officer can give you more information at your interview.

Hello Sir,

I have attended my second H1B visa interview and got a 221g. I was not aware that 221g is a refusal. I got a 221g during my first interview and got approved after a while. I attended my 2nd H1B and got a 221g again when searching online I realized that we have to answer the question (Visa Refusal) as Yes (As I got 221g in my first H1B interview) even though Visa is approved. Please let me know how can we correct it after the interview is done. What are my chances of getting a visa.

Thanks!
Srikanth Sajja.

I need your help. I'm sponsoring my junior brother who is just 2 years younger than me for his masters in the US. the bank statement i intend to give him is not my salary account . I'm a Pilot for the Nigeria Police force and i've worked for a civilian company before i joined NPF, i am also a shareholder in a start up company that has gone mega.. i do business of any kind (legitimate ranging from farming, car sales e.t.c) that will bring in money , hence the inconsistencies in the statement i intend to give him. Will this affect his application? he has embassy appointment next week. Please, will this have any effect on his interview?

Hi Visa Officer,

I would like to inquire on the time frame a K1/K2 visa petition gets approved by the NVC after submission by the USC. I know it varies by case but please when is the earliest expected?

Thanks

This is a question for NVC. It can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months to be approved, and then another few weeks or few months for the file to reach us and then be scheduled. So, you're looking at a minimum of a few months to 1.5 years from the submission date to the interview.

If you were requesting something from a large, bureaucratic organization, with many other similar requests, wouldn't it make sense to include a reason?

I wish to also find out, if visa applicants can be interviewed by the same Visa Officer more than once? My wife was interviewed by the same Visa officer who interviewed her, in her previous application.

Thanks.

Good day VO,

I posted earlier how I went for my F1 immigration visa interview which was successful. Visa collected and ready to travel anytime soonest.
Something happened, my girl friend gave birth to a bouncing baby boy a week after my interview, very cute little boy. To cut the story short.
How would I include the little boy in my plans if I decide against marrying his mother? Or
If I later change my mind in marrying the mother later next year, how would I plan and achieve reunion with my little guy and his mother?
