Banks close officially by 4pm, staff remain there till 7pm to 8pm, so what are they doing in those extra hours if this isn't one of them?

just because u have similar thoughts doesn't mean his reasoning is better than others reasonings.

In d US or any other country where cashless transactions are working perfectly, are the citizens not allowed to make cash transactions or payments if they choose to... see life is about freedom to choose, you can't just make something compulsory when u know there will be hindrances...
The government through the CBN should make the two options cash n cashless accessible with less stress n hindrances... when done am very sure most Nigerians will go for cashless transactions cos of safety n other benefits
and in those countries, what percentage of theur transactions are cash based?

And to those crying about nobody being able to operate a pos.....if you have a pho e and you can use it, then a pos shouldn't pose any problem

I support your ideas, but believe me,they are supposed to inform Nigerians on time, by implementing at this time shows that there is fire on the mountain, MMM is even better.CBN and banks did it in a toutish way,and it will affect millions of lives and Nigerians

Nothing was implemented! It just happened that there was cash shortage in some parts of the country this time

Yes sir you can buy all those things once you have the person's account number. Mobile Money will do the transfer for you and they will get alert and you take your foods except they don't have an account number. Please note I said it is true there is shortage of cash but it is wrong to say they blocked access to people's money. CBN has failed to enlighten the populace to take advantage of several e-channels available and note that there are mobile money Services where you don't need internet on your phone.

I haven't said cash should be eliminated but the truth is whether you like it or not, there would have been much less people at the atms if mobile money has been implemented properly. Not everybody on the queue was going to buy 50 Naira pepper some were going to buy much higher value and rather than queue for hours would gladly pay the 100 Naira charge.

nobody is preventing anybody from getting their money as the OP has opine however their is limitation to the amount of money that can be in the ATM
however the number of withdrawal during this festive period tends to be at the high side even at shoprite where the POS is working fine silly scum like you still first went to the ATM before going into shoprite to shop just so u can pay with cash
your type of scum is unimaginable to me

can't you give your opinion without insult...
With these I know the kind of background you are from and how your foundation is laid.
mind you I prefer using pos but whenever I use it, its either the network is bad or my account is debited more than once.

Again, is it a must I must go to shop rite for every item I need even when the distance is far, for every plastic Coke I buy I will enter bike of #200, is that wisdom or stupidity... what am saying is that before you introduce any policy or system you have to make a good ground for it...

You really don't need to throw insults. It's not necessary. Are you really saying there is no other way to access money apart from physical withdrawals? When you pay at a supermarket with your atm, have you not accessed your money? When you transfer to a customer via mobile money, have you not accessed your money? Shortage of physical cash is not and cannot prevent people from having access to their money in this 21st century.[/quote) Would i use my atm to pay the woman selling fresh pepper ? Would i also use my atm to pay for fuel at the petrol station,or the mallam selling goat at the abatoir? I'm just asking..

I did Xmas hair, PD with pos
I did shopping for Xmas cooking at shoprite, used pos

Paid for my brothers airline tkt, quicketeller

Bought a few gifts on konga, used their payment platform
Bought spa coupons on dealdey, used their payment platform
Transferred the balance to savings, online transfer

December salary yaff finish. And who said govt is not allowing me to access my funds? Op, bring ur money let me help you spend it online. I want to even buy a few things on Ali express, free shipping.

CBN has focused so much on the Dollar issue this year that they have not expanded on their cashless policy. That is the real issue.

I posted this on an earlier thread,
What CBN needs to do is deepen the implementation of Mobile Money. In Kenya, once I have your phone number, I can transfer money to you. This also saves a lot of money in printing cash. Another option is to take advantage of cash based businesses and use them as mobile money agents. For example, I should be able to walk into a Petrol station or supermarket, deposit money in their account through their POS and they give me the cash equivalent. It will help this businesses reduce their cash calls and bank trips.

Some comemtators on this forum can be so annoying. However, I think they, government and the banks, need to do something about the charges- N105- that's too much a charge for a policy that is trying to encourage us to use cashless policy. If I had all the charges to my purchase, it will be about, if not more than, a thousand naira. I mean, that's too much. There's even suppose to be an incentive, like a bonus, for those who use the service, but what you have is an exhobiitant charge of that magnitude- it's too much.

The banks and others were laughing at MMM when confirmed mavros were frozen to forestall crash of the system if gh was not restricted. They started their rumour mill with useless and worthless Journalists that MMM has crashed. If the journalists are not useless and worthless why are they not reporting what is happening at the ATM stands or inside banking halls where withdrawals are slashed by banks nation wide as crash of the banks? Why, I demand an answer from untutored Journalists and threatened banks, I mean why are the shameless Journalists keeping quiet? They should just watch out for increased tempo of ph and gh in MMM from January.

It is a shame that the majority of Nigeria's youth lack ability to reason nd choose to turn every issue to tribalism. When someone diffuses idea on the forum, instead of some folks to counter him with valid fact, they keep on shouting Afonja, why are some people are so dumb like this??

Looking at the content of iwolex comments, "Deepen implementation of mobile money by CBN",it is just an opinion not that he is forcing all of u to do ur transaction for commodity via transfer, but some fools av started throwing tantrum on him,it is uncalled for........

His opinion is good to me if CBN can put some policy nd place nd ENLIGHTEN NIGERIANS about POS,it will reduce all this stress. If u can av access to ur money by POS,I don't think government denied you to av access to ur money but shortage of physical cash.

Though the restricted amounts CBN put in place is too harsh especially this festival period but that doesn't mean we should turn blind eyes to other means of meeting our needs via transfer if CBN deepen the implementation of POS.
