Hello, please don't shoot yourself in the foot. I've seen your recent posts about the visa and unless you're being funny, please get that mindset out IMMEDIATELY. Stop worrying about the interview or else you'll send the wrong signals to the interviewer and you'll set a trap for yourself even before it begins.

If 1000 people fail, don't let that scare you. Remember your case is different and it shouldn't shoot down your confidence. Don't think because a VO has been denying everyone, you'd like to avoid him. All those things will make you have negative ideas and could affect you. Just prepare, relax, smile, be positive and hope for the best.

My advice: use people's delays as a further expo for you, learn from their mistakes and prepare better. On the day of your interview, believe in yourself, don't pray/wish for any lenient VO, believe in yourself. Pay no attention to the outcomes of the people that go before you. Don't let their paroles scare you. In 3 minutes, you'll be out with your visa or information about how you'll get it next time.

Stop getting scared/worried please. I wish I could write more but I just woke up and hunger wan finish me. May God be with you.

God bless you for these.

Wanted to say same too

Hello great people... I have a piece of onion to add to this awesome thread!!!

Well, a lot of persons have attributed their success at the consulate to the great minds on this thread. I applaud your efforts.

However, while some persons are rejoicing and sending out message of gratitude to those that contributed to their success in one way or the other, others are in search/begging for 1 or 2 persons that will vet their transcripts.

It is to this light that I write this;
A few of our colleagues just faced d consulate and it didn't turn out well for them simply because some of us have REFUSED to assist in vetting their mocks. It is not good an unfair. I don't want this to result to name-calling and abuses though, but it is as a result of this that they were unable to come out successful.

Inasmuch as we are VERY BUSY with our daily routines, 5 mins for a brovda isn't bad at all. This thread had helped u during your own time too, why not help those behind.

A whatsapp group has been created by a group of our colleagues @Christian129 and others here to help drill and correct red flags in mocks. I would plead with you all to help out ou colleagues via that platform too.

I raise my case.

In as much as i want to convince myself that you have a point, i just cant. If you create a whatapp group, don't you think this thread will gradually die a natural death? If people before us had done that, some of us wont benefit from this thread as much as we did. and i don't want to agree that some people decided not to help some, i think you are just assuming. I know countless times i have seen texrem or deetus or so saying the people that booked for mock interview or so should remind him.Whatever that whatapp group can do, this thread will do better.

Av been following this tread, I just graduated recently with 3.47/5.00 cgpa BSc sociology. Please is there any hope for me to get full scholarship to do my masters in U.S because I graduated with second lower degree, which is still disturbing me till now and I'm even disappointed in myself.
That stage has passed, get over it. Yes with a 2:2 you still have hope. All you have to do is research for schools and ace the required standardized exams (gmat/gre or/and Toefl). If you keep dwelling on your past, you wont move forward. With a good exam scores ,sop, and lor..you might get an assistantship.

i am trying to submit an application to Kansas State University, but i was unable to submit. it requires me uploading my financial documents.
please what is the way out. should i click on the options that says i dont have personal funds. What is the implications on my application.

cc. sirRiddy.
I don't think its because you didn't upload your financial document, have you made payment? Did the payment go through? I believe even if your documents are incomplete it will still submit. If you put no personal fund, that means if they don't have funding they might not even give you admission. I will say you should contact them and ask them why you couldn't submit your application. Also check your dept admission requirement well

You need to remove that mentality of depending on others ...... Who told you that your success in Visa lies in the hand of who does the mock or not. There been loads of people here that only used the transcripts posted and used that as a guide in their interview ....Also there have been others i worked very closely with and i was sure they would get it and were still REFUSED ....... If u see someone to dedicate that extra time fine , if u dont see fine no big deal . A mock does not ASSURE u that u get d visa

You have more than enough resource here that have been collected for a good time frame here on nairaland, you have the dropbox made that puts the transcript together in one place....... Those ideally is more than enough , for it not to be enough then the "people" you are quoting will add little or nothing . The guru just add a little icing ontop and if you believe in God , u pray that you find favour on interview day

The timing of this your post is good as it will allow me to say what i would have said to you in private because i received your email.

1. The mock interview issue here.

a. This will do more harm than good to people taking part in a private mock interview because the person interviewing is not a VO and will not give you the answer to follow-up questions which comes after you might have answered your memorised/crammed question.

b. The person interviewing you can unintentionally give you wrong answer/idea/impression and nobody will be able to spot/challenge that unlike when such mistake is made in public here.

c. VOs know when you have been coached/told to say something because you always sound and behave like an answer machine.

2.The whatsapp group.

This is a selfish idea that benefits very few people. Many get to know about this thread through google search, whatsapp group chat history will not be available in google search.

There is nothing you can say or discuss in whatsapp that can not be said here unless you want to discuss how to circumvent immigration policies.

3. My tips for you

a.Know why you want to study in US and not Canada, UK etc

b. Know why you decided to study that particular course, the benefit to you and life after graduation.

c. Know why you chose that particular university out of hundreds of universities in US

d. Make an effort to read up about the city where your university is situated, what attract foreign students to that city, what is good about that city etc.

If answers to above questions are given to you in a private mock interview or whatsapp group then you will be going to the interview to repeat what everybody in that whatsapp group or mock interview have told the VO.

You have more than enough material in this thread to prepare yourself use it.

Good luck.

Juswise, you are not totally right. Lots of things come into play in terms of visa issuance. I wouldn't want to reveal the various tactics I use when I train folks offline. I have been able to achieve over 88% success.

I don't give repeated answers. Because I know every applicant is unique.
