To be honest, I'm not interested in all their politics, local news is more politics than actual fact. I can't remember when i actually followed the news. However, it seems the senate is resisting the plan.

I guess this isn't routine maintenance, but periodic overhaul.
Doesn't sound periodic. It does sound though, like routine maintenance has not been done in a long time. Such that the runway is fast becoming a danger and closure is the only solution.
Heads should roll over this. And the joke that Kaduna will be an alternative? Remember that time they said Port Harcourt International would close for a few weeks and it became a year?

Like we say in Nigeria, "na dem dem, na dem sabi". It's all an illusion.

Kaduna airport terminal is not something to talk about, I was there just this satauday, the uncompleted terminal has been left untouched since Stella Udua saga, the current terminal in use is the hajj terminal of which if 200 passengers are in @ a time the air-conditioning system will collapse that is if the whole terminal can even carry 200 passengers at a time, unless they can finish the rebuilding of the old terminal. The only good thing about the airport is the runway is good and can land a Boeing 747, but may be an Airbus 380 or Antonov 225 will only flyby

One Runway left to deteriorated, its important for the Govt to fix it before we have a Major problem like what happent in Kano 60s crater/pothole lead to the death of over 200 after landing from Hajj.

The Senate is unhappy because of the Alternative route bad roads & security issue,
Its unclear if the train service can make things easy .

So unlike the Army where SSC could reach the peak
NAF tru unofficial discrimination policy wouldn't allow short service reach **G.

Anyway, whatever happens, it has to be fixed. If you land in kaduna, you take a train to Abuja. The Diesel trains can reach speeds of 180km/h.

UN peacekeeping mission is not a war. Rooivalk are used mainly as escort. Thugs looking For UN food is what you claim to be fighting with Rooivalk?

Come now Iblawi, lets not be foolish.

M23 rebels were once part of FARDC (DRC Army).

They had many heavy weapons

AFSF are like a Task Force, Specialized Task Force. They are made up of guys from the Navy SBS, Air Force Regiment and Army Special Forces. They are organized and funded by the ONSA.

They are not Rangers and they are not SAS. They combine capabilities and perform tasks similar to both the Rangers and SAS, a mix of both.
ok I see then after the war, AFSF is finish ? or they are plans to reorganise everything ?

Nice to see Proforce defence is doing so well, and executing multiple contracts and securing good business. Also pleasant this current government continues to patronize them just the same way the last one did.

Are all these Cash-in-Transit vehicles new build or are they refurbished? How many vehicles in total?

Pretty good actually . The PLZ-45 is one of the world's best selling 155mm howitzers. It's Chinese, I reckon when the requirement for a new 155mm comes, it would be one of the front-runners.
