well, only apply this next solution if you don't mind losing everything in the flash drive.

type command prompt in the search pane and run it with admin privileges. Now input the following commands without the dash (-) sign
- diskpart ( then press enter key)
- list disk ( this shows all the disk, look for the number of your USB drive)
select disk X ( X stands for the number of your USB drive)
-detail disk ( gives info about the disk helps you know if you chose the correct disk)
clean ( it removes all partitions on disk)
- create partition primary
- select partition 1
- active
- format fs= ntfs quick
- assign
- exit

Remember this wipes out everything .

I even tried to format thru the cmd and the diskpart windows, its still giving "the disk is write protected" what else can i do?

i dont mind loosing all the files in it i just want it to come back to normal please i really need ur help

hello sotall i have done his too (attributes disk clear readonly), its still not working for the flashdrive .... i don even tire for the flash drive self and i dont want to throw it away cos of the price of things out there. pls if i can see another method of resolving this issue

Check the flash drive physically if there is a switch by it side for switching the " write protected " on . If there is none, I give up on the flash drive

Did you buy a used laptop?

Well, the best thing to do is to loose the laptop and check for dust, loose particles or anything obstructing the fan.

Your friend bought a laptop with bios password for you? How is that possible?

Didn't he test the laptop and ensure it was working properly before buying it?

First you need to activate windows in order stop getting the " activate windows screen"

Also, in order for your system to function optimally after reloading with a new OS, you need to drive it.

Hence, drive your computer and get an activator to activate Windows and you will be fine

get them from those guys selling computer software. But if you havnt done this before, I advise you take it to an engineer close to you . driving your OS is technical .

Absolutely no help because I have to work on the motherboard myself to clear the password.

My laptop ^ scroll key is acting up. A few days ago i noticed that pages on my browser kept scrolling down by themselves, likewise windows i opened too. it's stable now, but it still acts funny, when i try scrolling up it goes down first like i tapped the scroll down key. the information you provided isn't enough to tell if the motherboard is faulty.

I advice you see an engineer because the issue with the laptop is now in multiples i.e keyboard and booting problem. As for the keyboard, you may eventually need to replace it with a new one.
As for the booting issue, let an engineer troubleshoot it and know the problem. if you are in Lagos, you may consider contacting me on 08164685979

the best solution is to replace the keyboard. don't go for a used one. let an engineer buy and fix it for you.

from what you posted, you may be getting the process of installing an operating system on your hard drive wrong.

try another charger and see if there is any difference.
if no difference, see an engineer.

I tried running a disk check, it gets to a certain point and just remains there, i actually left it for like 2 days, yet it didnt progress.

I suspect that the hard drive is bad, i just need confirmation from the gurus here.

It originally came with windows 7, i upgraded to 8, and 10 respectively over the years (Been using it since 2013). The problem started while i was on windows 10, although i have restored it back to windows 7, all in a bid to fix it.

what is the size of your RAM? if it is on the low side, you may consider increasing it.
Your hard drive is also a major culprit here. Try another hard drive and note the difference

It's a 4gb RAM
