I have been smoking since I was 18. My father was a smoker and I grew up knowing him as a one. On his bad days, he used to smoke at least two packets of cigarettes. Nobody forced me into smoking, watching my father and his friends smoke convinced me that someday I will smoke. I knew as a child that someday I will be a smoker. So here I am.

The truth is I am so tired of the habit. I am done, I don't want again. But it's not easy, My body is so used to Nicotine. I cannot go two hours without feeding the beast.

There have been times that I tried to quit by going cold turkey, it didn't work. Four times is the number. My third try was the most successful. I went six days without smoking before I finally succumbed and went out to Shoprite and bought a ten pack carton Cigs and smoked it all within 3 days. I don't know, it was that crazy.

Now, I have lost my sense of smell and taste. My tongue no matter how hard I brush will always have a white coating.

I am afraid though. Quiting cold turkey comes with so much withdrawal symptoms -- both pysical and mental.

My bro, I applaud your self control and how you have it all figured out. Also, I am not like you. I am not as strong as you claim to be that's why I need help. I have tried on my own without luck wouldn't it be insanity to keep telling myself that it is within my power?

Wrong, plenty things kill faster. that is why it is hard for the addicted smoker to objectively assess how much harm the habit is causing to their body despite all the plenty evidence out there.
