Paul was just a male-supremist who has little or no regard for women. At some point in the Bible, he was advising young unmarried men to be like him and remain single; then asking them to only get married if the konji becomes unbeaeable; what a dofus! So to him, the only reason for marriage is to fvck.

And the way he so wrote against relatnship in the Bible tells who he must be a sadist; no adultery, no funication, if u must kiss it ought to be a holy kiss; dude was just myopic.
Recently, i became skeptical of the teachings of Paul, it seemed he wanted to create his own religion. Just take a look at these verses:

For if you were to have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers. In Christ Jesus I have become a father to you through the gospel. So I implore you, be followers of me.
1 Corinthians 4:15‭-‬16 MEV

in the day when, according to my gospel , God will judge the secrets of men through Jesus Christ.
Romans 2:16 MEV

Many more verses show how he have seen himself as the greatest apostle and how his teachings should be given priority than the other apostles.

These verses always keep me thinking, and his teachings take a large chunk of the bible, (13 books). Paul finally settled in rome according to the Bible. And as some people would say, he probably became a catalyst for the Catholic Church . Well the Catholic Church gave us what we should read as the Bible, i believe there are many more documented teachings of christ that they refuse to give us.

The subjugation and dehumanisation of the female human species started from religion. Jesus, apparently, had 12 disciples and none of them was a female. That not only stinks of discrimination, but it clearly shows how religious goons view women.

The campaign for equality of the sexex wasn't originally started by feminists, it was started by secularists and Atheists.

I might not have answered the OP's question, but I feel 'led' to make this point on this holy sunday morning. grin

If God is willing to give life to stones to praise his name if we humans fail to do so then the pulpit is not reserved for any particular gender...

The preaching of God's word isn't limited to any gender. Even Jesus sent his word through Mary Magdalene and the word of God says in Acts 2:17 "i will pour my spirit upon all flesh"

So far its done with all sincerity and with the purpose of serving God,a female preacher/pastor is justified.

The scripture was very clear on that instruction, it was a S clear as day light, we all agree that the Bible was written under d influence of the Holy Spirit, so tht wasn't just an instruction from Paul, it was from God.

U might not see what's wrong with a woman teaching n church or preaching, but there must be a reason that instruction was given by God. It's not just there because Paul felt like talking and adding his own to D Bible.

For tht letter to have been written to both Timothy and and d church n corithn, it means that this same argument must have arisen as at that time, and all Paul did was to clarify D issues under d inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

We Christains choose to obey D part of d Bible that appeals to us and d one that doesn't, we discard.... because o have been asking myself, this female pastors, dnt they c these instructions??, they do but they choose to ignore.

The issue of womens right, feminism and gender equality is d reason for this disobedience.

No doubt, this is one of the hotly debated issue in church today. this is not an issue of chauvinism or discrimination, rather, it is an issue of biblical interpretation.

As you have highlighted, there are several biblical references that can be used for or against the subject, but the clarity must be presented in truth and love. God has assigned different roles to men and women in the bible and this is as result of the way mankind was created and the way sin entered the world. 1st Tim 2:11-14 made it explicitly clear on the reason why woman cannot be pastors in church. Eve was the one deceived in the bible not Adam and this order of creation has a universal application in the family and the church.

Women are not to teach men or have spiritual authority over men because Eve was deceived and God has chosen to give primary teaching authority to Men in church and this in retrospect does not mean women cannot excel in other spiritual gifts.

So it would be right to say women are not allowed to lead a church or become a pastor and how they will be judged is not on us to determine.
makydebbie:
This issue of women/female pastors is a very delicate one and I want to know something once and for all....

Now I know views may differ but we all know the Bible is our absolute "as Christians."
But again in this same Bible we can find some paradoxical situations/scenarios and please before you get me wrong, by "paradoxical" I specifically refer to:

"A claim that two apparently contradictory ideas are true" or.

"An unanswerable question or difficult puzzle, particularly one which leads to a deeper truth."

I don't deal with the self-contradictory angle of paradox here.... Just wanted to be clear on that.

Now sometimes ago, I visited this church and the pastor that day preached like someone who was spoiling for a fight.... Well maybe because he was talking about women or probably it is because he was just being passionate about his preaching..... Whatever it was, that's not the issue. wink

The issue is what he preached about, "Women pastors and the place of women in the Kingdom of God especially in the church..."

The pastor said that any woman who is found behind the pulpit preaching as an ordained Pastor or preacher is in error and in total disobedience to God's Word and because God hates disobedience, these women will end up in hell.

Boyyy! He went on and on and even gave scriptures which I will drop here soon.

Now my mind started to wander to all the reputable women preachers I know.... From the Karthryn Kuhlmans of the past to the late Bimbo Odukoyas of the recent past and to the Arch-Bishop Margaret Idahosa, and even Pastor Paula White of the present.... Any for the future? (Time will tell) wink

Now, The Holy scriptures in the book of 1Corinthians chapter 14 vs 34 says, "Let your women keep silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak but they are to be submissive to, as the law also says."

Now we know it was the apostle Paul speaking here and he went on to add in verse 35 of same scripture, the following,

"And if they want to learn something, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is shameful for a woman to speak in the church."

In verses 36, 37 and 38, Apostle Paul said strong words which makes me ask.......

But why do we still have Highly anointed women ministers being used by God to wrought miracles globally and take the gospel to many?

Why isn't God limiting their power or influence if they are to keep shut in the church? Or am I missing something?

Okay here is another scripture about this issue:

I Timothy.2v 8-15 says a lot but I will pick the key verses which is verses 11 and 12....

"Let a woman learn in silence with all submission. And I do not permit a woman TO TEACH or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence"

This was Paul writing to Timothy who was pastor of the Ephesian church.

The scriptures above said that women are not allowed to teach.... But then what happened in the case of Kathryn Kuhlman?? She was mightily used of God and taught the bible in ways that influenced many Christians till this day........

Did God make an exception of her here? Or am I still missing something?

We also have seen that in the same Bible that harbors the two key scriptures above, there was a woman named Deborah.... **quite a coincidence is it?** grin

Deborah was judge over all Israel... She was a prophetess and a Judge meaning she was spiritual leader and Also Ruler of Israel in those days. This could also mean that she taught the people God's ways and we know in the new testament that a woman is not to teach or have authority over the man.

Why was Deborah's case different? Even Queen Esther is another example... She was kinda a leader figure to her fellow Jews in her days with Mordecai as her guardian and mentor.

She (Esther) played her role well. So well in fact that Hamann, Israel's enemy was destroyed and Israel saved from annihilation.

The stories of Deborah and Esther can be found in the books of Judges chapters 4 and 5 And Esther chapters 1 to 10.

So back to this day..... I have a question that need an answer or answers.....

In the light of everything said here and said in the Bible and seen in the Bible and in the light of the fact that we have reputable and influential Women ministers who are doing great things or who seem to be doing great things in the world today...

That is why I will always remain a proud Catholic.

This a church that has seen the future and taken care of all these life issues, both spiritual, biological and physical.

It's the more reason women can never become Priests, but they play a huge role in the church as reverend Sisters even on the Altar during mass.

Women are supposed to be subject and submisive to their husbands or men.It is only Islam that practise this.Since western idea entered into d church, everything has become diluted. What are forbidden b4 are now padded and given "civilization' excuse.Reasons wy there is no family values nowadays.Women compete for headship in d homes with their husbands becos of all this equality campaign.Reasons they may likely end up in he'll is because they will also take over headship at home from their husband which is against God's commandment in d bible.Let women mind their portfolios and u see a peaceful world.

U re highly welcome. Look! U have said it all. Now, I want u to know that the issue of the said Esther and Deborah is different.
No 1.Deborah is a judge,
No 2. Esther is a Queen
And the work they do has nothing to do with the Church.

So what Paul is saying in those verses is true.
And I want u to know that there's
no contradiction in the entire word
of GOD.

I will still refer you back to the bible text: Acts 2:17 - And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.

Its is more like a prophesy coming to manifestation. It has been said that it will happen and God's word will not pass without it being manifested.

Also in Philippians 4:2-3,I entreat Euodia and I entreat Syntyche to agree in the Lord. Yes, I ask you also, true companion, help these women, who have labored side by side with me in the gospel together with Clement and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life.

I repeat, Preaching of God's word isnt limited to any gender. So far you are doing it justly and winning souls for Christ which is our major aim on earth.

Paul never said that women should not preach, teach or educate people about the word of God. He only said that they should not do same in the churches. The two women that were mentioned in the old testament - Deborah and Esther never thought in the synagogue or any other worship centre.

this should not be about what we think but what the Bible says, and what it means.
women according to the scripture s should not head the congregation, as regards to Esther and Deborah, as prophetesses, women are allowed to prophesize (1cor11vs5) again we should remember the purpose of the coming of Jesus -to restore mankind and the world to his original plan and we should remember here that Deborah and Esther were not Christians. again no matter the what the female pastor teach or how big their miracles, if they are doing them in disobedience to the word of God, then,.

There's absolutely nothing wrong in receiving the word from a spirit-filled woman. A pastor is a shepherd and women can be

The literary pillar stone of Christianity, the bible, clear in it's directives and instructions say there is absolutely everything wrong for a woman to speak in church. Not rocket science.

Now, you may elect to 'receiving the word from a spirit-filled woman' anywhere and which way tickles your fancy...
But NOT in the church.

I have to agree with this guy. Paul's statement about women not teaching was only directed to teaching in the church.

But then, i find it highly implausible that God would punish a person for teaching others about him. So no, IMO they won't go to hell, given that there is even such a thing undecided

Yes, some of them will, others will get their fingers BADLY burnt because they were doing something God didn't send them to do.

Being a Pastor is not an ambition, it is a CALLING.

Your focus should be on preaching the gospel, not on wanting to be a pastor, or prophet or whatever...MAN OR WOMAN.

If you send yourself on an errand God didn't send you, and you expect a 'hand shake' from Him, then you're preparing yourself for a rude awakening on Judgement Day!

Focus on preaching the Gospel, do the work of an Evangelist in your locality.

Thank you.

Why such an exhortation? Because the women were disturbing the church service by asking questions of their husbands during the preaching…Hence their questions produced an undertone of noise which was confusing to an audience. No wonder Paul corrected them. So we see that the Apostle is not dealing with the subject of women preaching, but with discipline. He is simply correcting disorder.
