is a choice...you don't have to tell them to establish your unbelief....beside, is non of their business.

i believe you have challenges because you are argumentative and antagonistic....you just will not keep your mouth shot about it.

I never for once sold my unbelief to any body.......but you are JcakBizzle the atheistgelist. grin grin grin grin grin...to recruit members go hard you.

You must be a joker, tell all your friends and family you are atheist and see how they react. Regardless of if you're "antagonistic" or not you'll notice how they all treat you differently. Simply looking at nairaland will tell you its not easy being atheist in Nigeria.

dogged followers of Christ who do not collect tithe and offerings.....they go about doing and do not collect a penny from people. and not partisan Christians.

it is very common.... i have being in a muslim community where they called me arana, i am not allowed to eat with them or drink with their cups, they refuse to share anything with me, be it groundnut or chips.....churches are being burn down and Christians are being killed in Nigeria....you may not know how difficult it is in some part of this country for you to be a christian until one is faced with the challenge.

Not just in the North. Here where it's believed that almost everyone is a Christian, try being a clean and clear Christian who will not contribute in petty gossips. Who works in an office where pranks are played to make money, but you come out saying "Am a Christian, i can't do it".
Try telling the truth no matter what happens. In the midst of your friends who are always talking about their sexual escapades but you are saying, " Fornication is a sin".

Just try being Christ like and see persecution amongst the same people who also go to church like you.

Without words, your way of life judges them and you are hated for it. Your friends cutting off because you preach too much.

When i was in Uni, my friends called me "Mary mother of Jesus" in a disparaging manner, with the hope that i'd feel its a bad thing and join them.

On the 11 of this month, a friend called me to bring my Company's details to quote for a job in a Federal government Parastatal, only, the contract will not be executed. When the money has been disbossed into our accounts, we are to return 2.5million to the Ogas who signed the contract and keep 500k for myself. three Million as a whole.

This friend told me to come with as many friends as possible, as this was going on, some friends got to hear about the deal and were very interested.

When i was left alone, i discovered the Holy Spirit had withdrawn and i lost my peace. I began enquiring. What happened? Did i do something or say something wrong? Why have i all of sudden lost my peace?

He spoke and said " For every labour, there's profit, but this profit you are about to make, Where is the labour?.

What??. Although i knew what the deal was all about, but i didn't see it as me stealing anything. But when the Lord spoke thus, and i also called 4everGod a friend from here, and he said, "Walk away, that is stealing". I called my friends and told them i wasn't interested any longer.

Why, they asked, i said, "The deal is stealing and God is against stealing".

High government officials are using people's company names to steal from the government, and i won't help them

My dear some of them are still not talking to me till now.

Why? They were to come under my company to make this free 500k without breaking a sweat.

Now, my friends hate me. Meanwhile, i need that money baaaad.

With two companies, i would have come out with 1m, stressless. But, No. This is what Christianity is, not church attendance.

Being a Christian is the hardest thing to be.

You are told "Thou shall not commit fornication", but the object of fornication is not taken away from you. The girls are all over dressing like Karashikas before you. They go almost half nude, you see this. If you can't touch, you should at least fantasize, but, it is also said that, if you think it in your heart, you have done it.

The worst part is, Your Soul is saved but your sexual urge is not. So, from time to time, you body sees something and reacts, yet you can't react back if its not your spouse.

The hardest part is, no one will stop you if you decides to go ahead, you'd have to stop yourself.

Christianity is practiced in secret more than its practiced in the open.

Its very hard to be a Christian my dear.

It is not hard to be a Nigerian christian.

That's because sexual sin is the hardest to overcome. if you can overcome sexual sin, you can over come any other kind of sin.

Try it and see.

So, its easy being a Nigerian Christian? Why is that?

Nigerian christians worship money.

From internet research, a lot of christians are lying about their sexual morality since Nigerians watch a lot of porn

lately i was hit by the power of God and was naturally convicted of anything that is unpleasing to God.

to be frank.. i could no longer carry any artificial hair, be it braid or weavons, no fake finger nail, eye lashes.... grin grin grin grin..no make up.

no wearing trousers...is a serious matter.

Christianity is actually simple but the people of the world make it hard......

My life was more complicated as an atheist than being a christian......i have inner peace and joy beyond measure.

not just a lot of porn but Nigerians are top ten in gay and lesbian porn searches in the world

a also disagree with Analice107's assertion that sexual immorality is the hardest to overcome although I'll admit its up there

the biggest sin to overcome in Nigeria is the temptation to be corrupt, when you have sex to a particular point you find out there's really nothing new , I know this from experience

I'll also admit that I've met several Christians over the years who have conquered sexual immortality as far as I can see

corruption however is endemic that almost every Nigerian Christian supports it one way or the other

corruption is actually not the problem but HYPOCRISY

I've never met a corruption free Christian, I'm not denying that there may not be one but I've never met one who after scratching the pristine external surface, getting close enough to them that one has to see them for who they are is not corrupt in one way or another especially when we have business dealings

why I say HYPOCRISY is the hardest is that these Christians have a way of defending their version of "corruption" by whitewashing it and have successfully deluded themselves into thinking what they're doing isn't corruption per say but .................................. fill that gap with the senseless defense they have

basically, they say "I gave the Police N200 so that they'll let me go, I'm late for the meeting and I'll lose a lot more than N200, so its not corruption"

corruption becomes what they "define" it to be

this hypocrisy extends to several other bad behaviours but the hypocritical view of corruption is the one I've seen in 97% of Christians I know on the surface and 100% of Christians I get close to

let me reiterate that I've NOT met a Christian that isn't involved in corruption one way or another, they usually give a pristine appearance but their corruption shines through when you get close enough

Nna, that is why I say that religion is just a tool. It is only as good as its interpretation.

In a corrupt country, christianity is corrupt eg Nigerian fraudulent tithe pastors, Nigerian christians who love bribe!

In a liberal country, christianity is liberal eg gay bishops in the UK
