I don't think this happens in the SW though. People aren't discriminated according to their religion in the SW. I served in Calabar and it was one of the best moments of my life. I served in Kwara and i can tell you that corpers had their own price which was higher so we do give the locals money to buy foodstuffs for us

In as much as I believe there may be prejudice by some set of people, I disagree with this write-up. I have observed from my own personal experience as a corper and perception of how corpers are treated in other states that they are generally accepted by people. I can recall an igbo man whom from the look of things isn't that rich, guiding me and showing me how to navigate my way in Enugu yet paying my transport fare, even though it is practically indicative that I am yoruba.
Corpers are generally accepted so the writer must have met with biased people and not the generality of Igbos.

The funny thing about thread is the obvious prejudice of some responders to thinking that the lady is an Hausa lady.

To the best of my knowledge, she is a Yoruba lady. A Muslim Yoruba lady. But some assume any Muslim in Nigeria is by default, Hausa or Fulani.
