Not too much, sir. I wonder how you will manage to eat balanced diet with 600naira per day because thats less than 1pounds per day. 600naira per day is 18k per month.

Salary of 45000 a month is basically 1500 a day and you spend 600 on food, how much to you spend on transportation? Do you get stipend where you work? If no.... Your busy doing nothing my brother

Nairaland is truly not the best place to look for advise/solution... na to damage the guy memory una dey do. @least if you don't know, there are married men that earn less than that in Nigeria, though they might be suffering but you will never know if they don't tell you. lie. They still sell food 200 in ph, but without meat. Opp You can buy noodles, and beverages for your breakfast if you cant cook. If there is steady power supply in your area you can buy electric cooker to cut down the cost of kerosine and gas. I think this can cut down your cost.

Don't save anything in the first month. i'm guessing you are a bachelor which is good
Now use over 25k to buy provisions like half bag of rice, garri, tomatoes, etc, and use the rest for transport
some of those provisions will last you about three months, now use the remaining for transport and other misc activitiy.
you can save mayb #20bucks? on the second month? then on the third month try to replenish your provisions again. and keep going like that.

For you to spend 40% of your income on food is too much. This 600 I want to believe goes to the restaurants everyday. Please try buying food stuff and cook for yourself to enable you cut down your expenses.

I think it's fair enough...That is if you don't have House rent, Nepa Bill, siblings expenses, offering, tithe and others to do. But if you do then I think N600 is on the high side.

I earn well over 150k monthly and once I exceed N700 on food alone, I start feeling like am being too extravagant.

I will advise you save first then make budget on the outstanding. That way, you are able to determine your expenses based on the balance after savings.

for me, its too much....how about transportation nd other basic expenses? if you eat 600 naira food a day and add your daily transportation plus your monthly basic expenses, you will just very little left to save at d end of d month... 400 naira food is okay in a day
