Luis Enrique has told Barcelona that he'd talk about his future after the second leg against PSG, in March.[SPORT]

He is crazy! His future has already been decided after that horror Valentine day! Even if we win, I would slap anybody that attributes that victory to him!

Erikson is Spurs' best player though.

I don't know why the coach often chooses to play him on the wing to accommodate Alli in the middle or leave him out completely. Alli has shown to be useless when he's not scoring goals, he's more like a SS these days. It's a pity it's the goals that count in this era we find ourselves.

I wondered why he chose to dump the 352 system all together. Just because they drew against City doesn't make the formation redundant for Spurs. Chelsea didn't drop theirs after losing against Spurs or looking vulnerable against City. I believe the formation got the best out of Eriksen and whenever Eriksen is at his best, Spurs as a whole is always at his best as a result.

Rabiot (PSG) could've signed for Barca in 2014. His entourage spoke to club & was offered to join B team instead that he turned down [sport]

As meunier cut in and ran that 50m , who was supposed to face and stop him, if not that sluggish dm? That was exactly how carvajal ran in, last time to set bale up for ronaldo's goal. Also, where was the useless busquets, when messi lost possession for that draxler's goal? Their so-called world best dm didn't know he was supposed to be playing behind messi and co to protect the defence, in case of any eventuality. He has so much trusted and relied on barca's flawless possessive football over the years. The party is over, all man for himself, no more relying on iniesta, messi and co to relieve him of midfield's burden. As it is now leicester's ndidi is better than this world best dm.

Unzue is unlikely to be in contention to become Barça’s next coach and that Bartomeu will meet with Robert to discuss it.[AS]

Get a life, son, you literally live on this forum. Nairaland to you is an escapism from the painful pangs of an unfulfilled life. That explains why you grow green with envy, and have conniption fits on encountering someone seemingly better than you on cyberspace.

No wonder you dream up false realities to salve the agonies wrought by the heft of your insecurities. No wonder you try to convince yourself that Darkrebel is Coogar—because it's a concept all too new-fangled for you if someone other than Coogar can weave words into fine, ornate strings of awesomeness. cheesy

Go take care of your inferiority complex and bipolar disorder, boy.
You are too minuscule and insignificant, a mere shadow beneath my throne. Aloha. cheesy

Barça have conceded 4 goals in a match under Enrique 5x in 161 matches.

Since people love to compare Enrique & Pep so much, here's another stat to accompany that:
Under Pep, Barça conceded 4 goals ONCE in 247 matches

So what's everyone saying now? That we should go back to tiki-taka? I thought it's been said a lot of times that tiki-taka has been found out??

Tiki-taka is sweet tho.

Tiki-taka is sweet tho.

We don't need to revert back to the traditional tiki-taka wherein our midfielders made a million horizontal exchange of short passes in the middle of the park that not only dulled the edge of play, but has also on more than one occasion proven to be nearly inutile when pitted against teams that are balls-out on the defensive i.e teams parking the bus.

What we can and should recourse to is a more direct, more aggressive, and more fast-paced version of tiki-taka, as was seen in the days of Ronaldinho.

And I'd argue tiki-taka was never found out.
Tiki-taka is one philosophy that can be employed in varied number of ways. That one approach of tiki-taka appears to have been debunked by the enemy doesn't mean other approaches can't be utilised.

Sun Tzu said in the Art of war: "Never repeat a tactic that gave you one victory. Allow for your methods to be regulated by the infinite variety of circumstances"

Barça for five years repeated the brand of tiki-taka that won her the treble in 2009 whilst under Guardiola. No attempt was made to dial it up a notch; we rested on our laurels and grew smug. And frankly, we'd have remained overweaning had Bayern Munich not demystified that style of tiki-taka we had going back then.

All that is required is that we switch to a style of tiki-taka more suitable for the tempo of the times. To continue to use ONE strategy year in year out and against every opponent we face is an industrial-sized tactical misfiring.

The wisdom in Bruce Lee's words comes home to roost: "I fear not the man who has done 10,000 kicks once, but the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times"

We at Barça have practiced one kick(tiki-taka) 10,000 times. All that is left is for us to learn how to land that one kick in 10,000 different ways so as to remain unpredictable.

Only an exceedingly gifted coach can deliver this to us which is why I agree with Bykebyke that Enrique must leave. Enrique has proven to be a nine-day wonder, and while we should not be tight-fisted when heaping plaudits on him for the trophies he won us on his first campaign, it's high time we start calling a spade a spade.

No, that's not what we want, we want a functional team that does not only rely on individual brilliance to win games! We want a team that plays good football!
Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by Nobody: 1:36pm On Feb 17, 2017
If Sampaoli could be lured away from Sevilla, it would make sense to try to take Steven N’Zonzi with him, particularly as it was made abundantly clear in Paris that Sergio Busquets’ best days are behind him and that Andre Gomes is both a waste of space and money .Right-back Sergi Roberto may as well have had nobody positioned in front of him such little protection was he offered).

Up front, Paco Alcacer is another horribly expensive
signing that needs to be ditched, and while the ‘MSN’
remain untouchable, they are clearly in need of motivation, judging by the listless displays for Messi and Luis Suarez against PSG. Sampaoli’s arrival would provide the requisite reinvigoration, as underlined by the fact that both Messi and Neymar have previously tried to persuade the 56-year-old to take charge of their respective national teams.

Essentially, Sampaoli for Luis Enrique is the switch that
Barca need to flick to turn the lights back on in their
players’ eyes.

Enrique has really tried but his time is over.
Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by Nobody: 1:54pm On Feb 17, 2017
Jesus fücking Christ...you all should stop being over reactionary.
Busquets is having his first bad season in ages and suddenly his best days are behind him?

How a coach sets up his team matters,And the system Enrique has set up this season is making Busquets look like trash.

Hazard under Mourinho last season vs Hazard under Conte this season,Pedro under Mourinho last season vs Pedro under Conte this season.

Raheem Sterling under Pellegrini last season vs Raheem Sterling under Guardiola this season.

Coming into Andre Gomes' defense here, yes he has being poor.

But,how is he supposed to show his potential when he is being used as an utility player by Luis Enrique?

Today he plays LCM,tomorrow he plays RCM,next tomorrow he plays DM.

Enrique lacks what it takes to properly mould a player into a defined role.

If a veteran like Busquets is having problems this season,is it a new comer that won't?

I think we should see him under a new coach next season before throwing sticks and stones at him.

Let it be known also, that Nzonzi under Mark Hughes and Nzonzi under Sampaoli are two different Nzonzi's.

I drop my pen.
