Good evening house, i am new to this tread and i congratulate all the gurus in the house for the help they have been rendering. As at this moment, i am abroad and i have been sending mum some cash for her welfare. Since i found this tread i thought it wise that she can actually invest like 1m in the treasury bills and use it to support herself instead of depending much on me cos i dont know tomorrow. I have so far understand how it works and she is using union back. My question is 1) How do federal government actually profit from the money i gave to them that will warrant such good interest for me in little space of time. 2) She is using Union bank, what must she to to be able to make a bid. Thanks as you reply |

okochaik: 1. federal govt uses TB to check liquidity in the money market, thereby establishing stability, these monies also help support govt expenditure.... 2. ur mum should just walk into her bank and ask about how to apply for TB,diff, banks have diff, procedures. but make sure u feed ur mum with the current bid rate because most banks would want to short change her. 3. send us dollars.....biko........ 1 Like |

Short Story : Was preparing for my wedding late last year and I needed a wrist watch. Being a long time customer of a particular brand, I was aware of what I needed to spend to get a good one. 30k tops. So I got to the sales point. Alas, the price of the range I wanted had risen to 52k. I scraped here and there and was able to purchase one. I was like, this Naira don unless o. Fast-forward to date, I was lazing around the brands website, only to find out the exact watch now retails for 119k. I was like God, we are in trouble. Real Question: While Tbills is great and all, is there an actual means to preserve wealth while the Naira takes a beating? Kindly point me in the right direction good people. 2 Likes |

Please my Bro bid for 364 days with 2 Million and his account was debited with 1640986 leaving the upfront interest. So my question is what is the percentage here? I don't know the rate Gtb used. As I don't know how to calculate the percentage rate please. The bank is Gtb. I intend doing mine by 2nd of next month. |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by unite4real: 11:54am On Feb 20, 2017 |
Mascotlawman: Thats 17.95%. Use your simple interest calculation. Difference between 2M and 1640986 is the interest. divide interest by principal of 2M and multiply by 100 to get %. please use simple interest here Interest = (Principal * Rate * Time)/100 2 Likes |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Mascotlawman: 1:36pm On Feb 20, 2017 |
unite4real: Please is this a good rate? Judging from what people are saying here that the current rate is 18.5% . Please why is Gtb giving lower rate? |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by ozymes: 2:35pm On Feb 20, 2017 |
Fidelity just debited for 364 days |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by unite4real: 3:02pm On Feb 20, 2017 |
Mascotlawman: you told GTB to go with any rate of theirs and so as long as the rate is within the range of successful bids, you cant contest it. For example, the last auction has successful range of bids at 17.0000 - 18.4495. this implies that if you got 17.01 from your bank, you cant contest it. It will be a problem only when it is outside the lower band. GTB did the right thing and if you are not happy, then you have to state your own rate next time or port to a bank that bids successfully high. 1 Like |

PLEASE I BEG FOR YOUR PERMISSION AS I POST THIS IMPORTANT INFO****** A few months ago i discovered Bitcoins through someone in this forum! After buying for some time and hoping for an increase, i noticed that the price fluctuates and as such could be tradeable (Buying at times of low and selling at times of High) This led me to searching for reputable coys that I could Invest my Bitcoins with so that they trade for me. I found one and did a research on them to be sure they are reputable. The coy is CRYP TRADE CAPITAL...they are based in SPAIN They actually guarantee at least 17% monthly return (Dollars) on your Bitcoins investment. I have invested here for the past 3 months and just felt i should share! You can pm me for further info. PLEASE FORGIVE ME FOR THIS!!! JUST WANTED TO SHARE AN INVESTMENT INFO THAT IS WORKING FOR ME! 2 Likes |
