The Nigeria music industry is the fastest growing in the continent and has produced countless amount of top new acts in the past two years that the guys below have been missing. Kiss Daniel, Adekunle Gold, Simi, Mayorkun, Dremo, Ycee, Niniola, Aramide are slowly pushing these guys into oblivion unless they drop a hit song soon...they include..

1. Chidinma -- Has slowly gone under the radar in the past 2 years and her recent song, 'Fallen In Love' was not enough to bring her back to the limelight.

2. D'Prince -- Last year was a struggle for him as none of his music release even got any attention for a minute. Desperate measures need to be employed to awaken his redundant music career.

3. Kcee -- It’s an old gist that Harrysong helped revive his lukewarm career, maybe that's why they went through hell, to get him back into their label.

4. Banky W -- He has managed to remain relevant not for his music but for his recent role in 'Wedding Party'. But he needs a quick hit track before we all start referring to him as Nollywood actor.

5. Ice Prince -- From a BET award to an EP that could not sell past his doorsteps, another fellow that is in desperate need of attention before he follows Edris, Ruggedman and Mode 9 down memory lane.

6. Waje -- One of the most talented vocalist in the country is slowly getting swept under the carpet by the emergence of Simi, Aramide and Niniola.. Hit track in 2017 or another Nollywood star in the making

7. D'banj: if its Don Jazzy missing link or his koko Garri business has been distracting him... Nigerians don't want to hear.. If D'banj doesn't drop a hit track better than Emergency this year, we are throwing a surprise retirement party...shikena!!

8. Dr Sid -- The weakest link in Mavin Records is now a video director and with his Dentist degree in the bag, he can easily diversify unless he has one more hit track up his sleeves.

Let them adopt a hot Ghanaian-styled beat like Alqaeeda, Azonto or Highlife. Virtually all the Nigerian musicians who are enjoying playtime (except Asa, Simi and few others) are the ones who have seen the wisdom in copying the Ghanaians. Just add a few catchy lyrics to the beats and you are a hit. Ask Wande Coal, Wizkid, Patoreanking, Mr Eazi, Olamde, PSquare, Davido, Kiss Daniel, Reekado Banks, Timaya, May D, Tiwa Savage, Runtown etc the list goes on and on.

Vector shouldn't be on any list .

go listen to his lafiaji album .
That's the point, you no need personally listen to an album by yourself to know a hit.. I love VEC, but that LAFIA J album no too make sense.

''sample you'' generic but still lively.... I also like hollup a little because the video was cool, not the song itself. That's about it. The rest? GARBAGE

am still waiting for your recommendations...since you rate him highly

I think "Free Me" is one of his best works.. Sample U, Bankulize, Marry and like u said Hollup.. I understand u don't seem to like him one bit. Truth is if Tekno had still being in d running, he'll have won it outright. YCee seems to b on a sorta hiatus since afta his Jagaban and Omo Alhaji stunts, Humblesmith was neva really in d running.. By all standards last year wasn't really dat gud a year for gud music in Nigeria as there was little competition compared to the previous. I like ur taste of music though

You can't understand because u don't reason deep and follow the trend. That's why their last two hit tracks didn't stay long before it faded off the air play. People want new sound new artiste with a different feel something they ve not heard before. They still have their fans no doubt but people want to hear new sounds nothing last forever.

You must not like them. You are insatiable. Hope you can even sing the national anthem correctly Mr. Reason.

all the artiste mentioned here are nowhere near jayz or pdiddy level. They dont even have half the number of hits these guys made.

Jayz will always be relevant because he has beyonce by his side. Pdiddy owns a record label with top artiste. What about our nigerian peeps? Nothing!

Hmmmmmmm,Whether they are in Jayz or Piddy's level isnt the case..The Case is that they are Big in their own right..But still making reference to Jayz when was the last time he had a Hit?We are talking Jayz here and not Beyonce,Bey is different from Jay and as for Pdiddy tell me any of hes artiste that turned out a Hit recently..

These Guys are made already, they do not need Hit upon Hit anymore..That is what i am trying to drive at..

The Likes of Olamide,Davido and Co would soon relax and stop turning out songs every now and then..That is how it works..

relax? Lmao. You are comparing our entertainment industry to theirs? That's a big mistake. There, with a massive successful album, you can live off that for the rest of your life. There are so many streams of income and different ways to make money with their music for years to come.

Our structure here does not permit an artiste to relax. Album sales here is next to non existent. The only way they make the bulk of their money is from going to shows. If you dont have a hit song, you dont get to go for shows. If you dont go for shows, the money aint coming in.

Endorsement and stuff comes once in a while and even then, its the relevant artiste at the point that gets it.

If they relax, their fame and fortune will keep going down till they are irrelevant. Am sure there are examples already. The reason 2face is still relevant unlike artiste from his generation is because he never took a break.

Alot of artiste think they can leave, come back whenever they want and still be on top ( see faze, edris etc) but reality hits them and they realize its almost impossible to make a comeback.

Consistency> all in the entertainment indestry

Hit fine but you can sense they are doing so much work trying to still stay relevant by doing massive promotions. The P-Square we know before don't have to do too much work before their music blows up.

Their type of music is simply stale now and not appealing to the younger generations it's time to take the back sit and leave the younger artiste to do their thing is like Diddy trying to be relevant in the rap game where we now have drake, j-cole and KL
so u saying jayz or kanye are no longer relevant. shut the hell up

bakynes:

U can't understand if you don't reason deep, am no small boy,I don't like the big booty type of music but u don't expect the younger generations to be Jamming Bank Alert in his car. They like music with modern beat and sound and am sorry your " Bank alert" doesn't have such a beat or sound.

This case is just like Usher in the US he still has his fans in ten's of millions but anytime he releases a track it hits but it quickly fades off the airways or the chart but the likes of Chris Brown,The Weekend or Tory Lanez releases a track and you see it stay in the airwaves and charts for many months because their music is more appealing to the younger generations than Ushers. It's just telling you something that their time is coming to an end nothing lasts forever.
a hit song has nothing to do with age. at what age did luther vandross release dance with my father. an artiste could be overconfident and no longer as hungry as they used to be.usher has sold millions of records. he not as hungry as a drake. and hes got toursto make money from.

unique style? You gotta be kidding me. His lyrics are toddler levels.

Have you heard kpamurege? That is one of the worst songs i have ever heard and that is a mr eazi song

his lyrics are all about girls with big booty and not even in a good way. His was as boring as watching paint dry.

You know what, i'll take your word for it, recommend me 3 of mr eazi's best songs. I will download it now and see if i would think better of him.

I downloaded multiple songs from his album and i was not impressed one bit. Even what i believe to be his best song, is still an average song.

u just hit the nail on the head. I don't seems to comprehend with that childish lyrics of his. He should just recommend us to at least one best song of his

Why did someone mention 2face here? Oya come make we go is a hit, or isn't it?

Besides he is still as relevant and as 'in our faces' as ever, so there's really no basis for including him in this inglorious list.

On a side note, I think the most consistent artiste in the modern era has got to be Timaya. I don't know how he does it, but he has a string of hits every year and is an expert at successfully recreating his sound and style. This has been so for many years now. Others should take lessons from him.
