Hello, this is the first time I'm writing anything other than school reports and essays, I've been an incognito Wattpad reader for a while and I think the time is right to try my hands on a book.
I hope you guys enjoy the book and I'll appreciate constructive criticism.

They have both vowed to take revenge on those that hurt them, what happens when their paths cross? Whose revenge will be greater??

CHAPTER 1


Who knows what if feels like to be lonely, dejected, hated and unwanted?
I do.
I'm Rosie Kent, 16 years old, daughter of Dr. Charles Kent and Emilia Kent, oh yea and I have a sister, Kimberly Kent.
Well I might have exaggerated a bit, I'm not totally alone, I guess, my dad, big sister and my best friend love me.
my mum on the other hand.....I'm not so sure I should be calling her my mum, we all know she's not my real Mum but nobody ever says anything about it, I mean, I look black for heaven's sake, my dad, sister and "mum" are white. It's an insult to my IQ that they think I wouldn't notice the difference because I don't know why else they have not said anything about it.
maybe that's why my "mum" tries her best not to have me around. I have been attending boarding schools for as long as I can remember and I'm sure college will be far away from home too.
I struggled a lot with being different when i was younger, my sister, Kim, was slim, had fair skin and straight, blond hair like our parents while I was chubby with thick dark curly hair.
I was so jealous because I wondered why I wasn't like every one else and I wanted to be like her instead.
The boarding school I attend is for rich, snotty kids, I might have not been loved enough but my dad did more than was necessary for me with money.
Dr Charles Kent, my father, is a very successful neurosurgeon, well known all over the world for his numerous research and he owns numerous pharmaceutical companies.
He is one of the top doctors, business men and one of the richest men in the world.

It's a cloudy afternoon with signs of rain, why is the weather trying to spoil my day, I had plans to go shopping with my best friend Annie.
Annie is the best thing that happened to me in middle school, I was always sitting alone with no friends and the perfect candidate for bullies, I remember the first day we met, I was crying after Luke, the class bully told me I was as fat as a chubby piggy, then Annie did the nicest thing, she cleaned my tears and told me not to mind the bad boy, she said I looked better than him anyways and she would be my best friend.
We've been together ever since, her parents are wealthy but don't have enough time for her, I guess that's why she goes to the boarding school too.
The sky is clear now, I better call Annie so we can meet at the mall.
"Hey boo, are you on your way to the mall already?" I asked with a grin on my face
"Hey don't call me boo, you know Jayden gets jealous of you enough as it is"
"Don't worry I'll get a boyfriend soon then I won't have to call you boo anymore, I'll see you at the mall in 10 minutes" I said before I hung up.
I'm 16 and have never had a boyfriend, I'm sure if I go on this way I'll break a world record.
I walked into my closet, picked a short, sweat shirt and sneakers, shopping with Annie can be hell sometimes so it's better to dress as comfortably as I can. After wearing my clothes, I went to the bathroom, rinsed my face, patted my face dry then applied some pink lipgloss.
I went to my sister's room to collect my keys, she borrowed it the day before because her car was faulty, as I entered her room I saw her with her boyfriend lip locking as usual.
"Hey Kim, where are my keys, I need to get to the mall" I said covering my face as I entered her room, she and her boyfriend Josh started laughing
"It's on the vanity table and you can stop covering your eyes, geeez you act like a nun, do you want to tell me you've never kissed a boy"
I blushed red as I ran to carry the keys and out of her room, I could hear she and Josh laughing as I closed the door. God why do I have to be so innocent.
I went to the garage and got into my Maserati granturisimo, my dad got it for me for my 16th birthday, I named her Macy, very cheesy I know.
As I drove into the parking lot I saw Annie's pink car parked by one corner, I rolled my eyes as I thought, "you can never miss her car even when there are a thousand cars to check through"
I grabbed my purse, got out of my car and walked towards her car but she wasn't in it, I looked round and saw her talking to two guys, I recognized
Jayden but I didn't know who the other was so I walked up to them and said hi.
"Have you been here for a while?" I asked, looking at my feet, I've always been very shy
"No I got here a couple of minutes ago, meet Jayden's cousin, Bryan, he'll be joining us at the school this year, but he's a senior"
"Hello, I'm Rosie and it's nice to meet you" I said moving my hand forward for a handshake
"It's nice to meet you too, your name is really pretty" he said with a little smile on his face,
"Thanks" I said, blushing
We went into the mall together and talked about anything we could think of, I felt I was starting to like him and it scared me a little, what if he's just being nice and doesn't like me that way.
We walked round the mall for about 5 hours thanks to Annie, she made me get things I didn't need from lacy nighties to new hair styling products and make up. "You should really start curling or straightening your hair, I've never seen your hair down and you need to loose the bun, I can see a future with you and Bryan" she said before dropping a curling iron in the trolley. I rolled my eyes at her because I didn't want her to think I was interested, if she did she will go the extreme length like making me dye my hair or changing my whole wardrobe.
After we finished shopping we went to the food court to eat, then I found out Bryan doesn't eat sausages and apples, we were so surprised because I hate those things too, then Annie mouthed "match made in heaven" and winked, I was so embarrassed because she wasn't so subtle and I'm pretty sure he saw her, I could feel my neck and face turn pink.
Bryan and I exchanged contacts before we left the mall, as I drove home I kept replaying the day in my head, I could easily say it was the best day ever and I was unusually excited, as I got home I parked my car in the garage and picked up as many bags as I could then went up to my room, on my way up I saw George, our butler who offered to help with the remaining bags, I couldn't thank him enough, I just wanted to jump on my bed and think about What happened today.

CHAPTER 2


Today is the day I leave for school, I've never been this excited to go to school, I guess it's because I'll get to see Bryan again, it's been a week since we met and we've spoken a couple of times after that. My flight is in the next 5 hours but all my luggage is packed and I'm ready to go, I called Annie some minutes ago and she says she's on her way to the airport already. I went to the garden to tell my mum good bye, she has never gone with me to the airport, does she have to make it so obvious? I didn't choose the circumstance of my birth, what ever it may be, I'm the innocent one, she shouldn't treat me this bad.
  I entered the garden and shouted "mum are you in here?"
"Yes, do you need something?" She answered from the other side
"I came to tell you I'm leaving for school" I said, walking towards her voice
"Okay, study hard and don't keep bad company, we will see you in the next 10 months"
"Okay mum, thanks, bye" I said with tears in my eyes, even though she doesn't care so much about me, she's the only person I know as a mother, I would like to hug her sometimes but I don't think she'd want that.
I went to my father's and my sister's room to tell them I'm set to go, they were both seeing me off to the airport. When we got to the airport, we met Annie and her parents, exchanged pleasantries, then hugged our families good bye.
After about 12 hours, we got to the airport in London, I was so tired all I wanted to do was to fall in bed and sleep for a week.
After we got our luggages, Annie and I went to the space in the parking lot designated for my school, we got on the bus with some other students and were on our way to the school. As we got near the school, my heart started pounding, I'm still excited to see him, what if he treats me indifferently, I could feel my palms getting wet, I must be very nervous.
"RO!!" Annie screamed, "what are you thinking about? I've been calling you for the past 2 hours"
I looked at her and apologized "I'm so sorry, I don't know why I'm so nervous, it's like my first day in school"
"It's okay I understand, it's all because of Bryan" she said then winked. I rolled my eyes and stood up to get out of the bus.
"Hope your names and room numbers are written on your boxes? we'll have them delivered in less than thirty minutes" the bus driver said holding a paper to call our names and mark us present before letting us into the school. After entering our room, I went straight into the bathroom to shower then brush my teeth, when I was done I wore the oversized tee-shirt I sleep in and lay on my bed, I looked round for Annie but she was no where to be found, I bet she's with Jayden, my heart skipped a beat at the thought of Jayden, maybe Bryan is with them since he's new here, before i knew what was happening I was already asleep.

An alarm woke me up early the next morning, but I didn't set an alarm, I looked beside me and saw it ringing on Annie's side table, it's at moments like this I wish I could strangle her.
I got up from the bed and turned of the alarm then went to wake her up, "Annie! Annie!! Wake up, it's 8 'o'clock" I said patting her back, she moaned then got up, rubbing her eyes.
"Why did you set the alarm?" I asked
"I want us to register our courses before everybody gets here and everywhere becomes rowdy" I couldn't stay mad at her because it actually made sense.


We took our baths and started getting ready for school, Annie sat by her dressing mirror, curling her hair, then I sat by mine and thought, I could straighten my hair and look different today, I got my hair out of the bun, part it into sections and straightened it, when I was done, I used an hair clip to secure the center and left the sides, I dusted a little powder on my face, wore eyeliner, mascara and pink lipgloss, I thought I looked different, then I wore my uniform and asked Annie how I looked
"Goodness gracious!!! You look amazing, I told you getting rid of the bun will be good for you, Bryan will go crazy when he sees you, talking about Bryan, he asked of you yesterday, and he asked for your school cell number but I told him to ask you when he sees you today" my heart skipped a beat and I couldn't help but smile when I heard he asked for my cell number "oh really? I guess I'll see him today then" I said, acting indifferent.


We spent about 3 hours walking round school, having our course form signed and getting our schedule, when we were done Annie called Jayden and told him to meet us at the basketball court, after about 5 minutes, he came with Bryan and they said hi, we talked for a couple of minutes before Bryan said he wanted me to show him around school, I was so nervous because I'd never been alone with a guy before but I said yes and we got up to leave.
"I'll meet you at the dorm when we are done" I said to Annie before we left


We walked round the school and I showed him everywhere I thought was important, then we talked about family, hobbies and dreams.
"What would you like to do after college?" I asked
"I'll probably take over my dad's company since I'm the only child, and he's been giving me hints like keeping business school brochures on my night stand" we both laughed at that
"Parents can be so funny, what about your mum?" I asked because I noticed he had never said anything about her and he said a lot about his dad, the love he had for him was evident in his eyes. He kept quiet for a few minutes and the silence grew awkward
"It's okay if you don't want to talk about her, we can..."
"No, it's not like that" he said, motioning for us to sit and holding my hand
"My mum passed away when I was 15, she died in a plane crash, I didn't know what to say because my dad and I never talk about it" he said, I could see the sadness in his eyes and wished I hadn't asked the question,
"I don't know who my mum is" I blurted out, I have no idea why I said it, I have never told anyone, not even Annie
"Did she die while erm...birthing..you?" He asked, confused
"No, my dad, mum and sister are all white with blond hair and blue eyes and I'm brown skinned with brown hair and eyes, I'm pretty sure I'm African American, I think he's my dad because we have the same blood type, and I'm sure she's not my mum, and she doesn't hide her coldness towards me" I said not knowing I had started crying, I have never said it out loud before.
" I wish I knew who my real mum was, I know she would love me and be proud of me, she would give me sweets when I impress her and hug me when I'm sad" I continued in between sobs. He put his arms round me and drew me in for a hug, "shhh, it's okay, everything is going to be fine, you'll find your mum one day" he cooed, stroking my hair and rubbing my back.
I moved away from him and dried my tears, my cheeks getting pink, I can't believe I just cried in front of him, "I'm sorry you had to see that, I had to tell somebody, I've never said it out before"
"No it's okay, just remember I'll always be here whenever you need someone to talk to"
"Thank you" I said as I checked my wristwatch, "God it's 6 p.m already, it's late, I have to go" I said as I got up to leave, "wait! I'll see you off to your dorm" he said walking up to me.
We walked in comfortable silence to my Dormitory. When we got there he looked at me and said "I like talking to you, it's like time is nonexistent when I'm with you" he said holding my hands and staring into my eyes, I could see his face coming close and what was going through my mind was "oh my God!!! He is going to kiss me" I closed my eyes and a few seconds later I felt his lips on my lips. I was shocked because it wasn't what I expected, I expected it to be sloppy and salivary but it wasn't, I felt sparks from my heart down my spinal cord. It was then I knew I was done for, I was already in love with him.
He put my hair behind my ears and whispered, "you are so beautiful"
I blushed and said thanks before saying bye and running up the stairs to my room.

CHAPTER 3


When I got to the room I'm sure I looked as guilty as I felt, Annie was rambling her usual nonsense about how Jayden is the best boyfriend ever but to my surprise I couldn't hear a word, my hands were on my lips and I was deep in thought.
"Don't you think he's...geez don't tell me I've been talking to myself for the past 5 minutes, Rosie!! Are you still on earth?" She asked, hitting my shoulder
"Owww, must you be so violent?" I asked with a frown on my face, rubbing my shoulder
"Why did it take you so long to show Brayan around? Wait, I know that look, what did you do?" She asked, looking at me suspiciously. I could feel my face grow warmer, but I can't tell her about us yet, I'm not even sure there's an "us", and I know the kind of person she is, she'll start planning double dates the minute she finds out, God I can't believe I have to keep more secrets from her.
"Why would you think I did something, the school is big and we lost track of time"
"Hmmmph, you don't have to get all defensive" she said, clearly not believing a word I said, at least she's letting it go.
I went to the bathroom to prepare for bed, when I got on my bed I knew I was definitely going to dream about my kiss with Brayan.

It's been 3 days since my kiss with Brayan, we've not met but we talked on phone at least once a day.
Today is the first day of school, will we run into each other on the hallway? What if he pretends he doesn't know me? Will I be too shy to talk to him?

Ring! Ring!! Ring!!! The noise from the alarm snapped me out of my thoughts, well I better go into the bathroom before her royal highness goes in and spend the whole day I thought before getting off the bed and going straight into the bathroom.

Annie was still sleeping when I got out, It amazes me how she sleeps through alarms without even turning. I went to her bed side to wake her up before sitting by the mirror to get ready for school. Annie told me my natural curl pattern looked good the day before so I didn't bother straightening it, I brushed it, dusted a little powder on my face and applied some lipgloss.

I was so nervous walking down the hallway on my way to class, thinking any  6ft tall guy I saw was Brayan, I was both relieved and disappointed when I got to class, a part of my heart didn't want to see him because I still blush at the thought of the kiss and another part of me wanted to see him badly because I missed his smile.

I took the corner seat at the back of the class while Annie sat in front as usual because of her height, I was looking at a book on my desk when I heard someone clear his throat, I looked up and saw Luke, my bully since middle school, the bullying reduced over the years but he doesn't seize to frustrate my life by teasing me any chance he gets.

"Woah!! Chubby nerd, it's the first day of school and you're studying already" I rolled my eyes at him, everybody knows I lost the baby fat.

"Luke please I'm not in the mood for your nonsense this morning, can you just leave me and do something worthwhile with your time" I said before picking up my book which he snatched from me and opened

"Everything about you is boring" he said touching my hair
"Don't touch my hair" I glared at him
"New hair, it's better than the bun" he said before throwing my book at me and walking away

"God I hate him so much" I muttered to myself,
"At least you are starting to stand up for yourself" I heard Annie say beside me
"I didn't notice you there, what's up?"
"I came when I saw Luke walking towards you, the professor is here, see you later" she said as she walked back to her seat



"Hello class, I'm professor Smith and I'll be taking you biology, starting from you, I want you all to introduce yourselves" he said, pointing at Annie.
When it got to my turn, before I could introduce myself, Luke said in between coughs "chubby nerd" and the whole class roared with laughter, over the years, I learnt to ignore a lot of things, so I cleared my throat and said, "my name is Rose Kent"
"Luke is it? Meet me at the principal's office after class and It's nice to meet you all" he said before moving to the board to write "cell biology".

"So who knows what a cell is?" The professor said looking round the class, everybody looked clueless, but I knew the answer so I raised up my hand,
"Yes Rose, tell us what a cell is"
"A cell is the basic structural, functional and biological unit of all known living....."
"Get a life nerd" Luke shouted before I could finish answering the question, I kept quiet and looked at my desk, what did I ever do to make him hate me this much

"Luke, principal's office now, I will not tolerate you constituting a nuisance in my class and if you weren't concentrating on what she said, sorry for you because I'm not repeating it" he said before storming out of the class with Luke behind him.

They both returned to the class some minutes later, Professor Smith continued his lesson and I tried not to answer any question till the end of the class.

After about 1 hour, the bell rang, signifying recess and professor Smith left the class.
I packed my books then went to Annie's seat so we could go for lunch.
"I hope you were not bothered by Luke's stupidity?" she asked glaring at him as I approached her seat
"No, you know I don't let him get to me anymore, hey, I'm starving let's go" I answered, motioning for us to go outside.

We were walking side by side when I saw something that almost made my heart fly out of my chest, it was Brayan, looking super hot in his school uniform, he was busy talking to Ross, the captain of the football team.

"Rosie, look it's Brayan!!! Let's go say hi to him" Annie squealed with excitement
I was about to tell her it wasn't a good idea when Amber, one of the meanest and superficial girls in school jumped on him and was hanging onto his arm like a life line

Amber is a typical high school mean girl, always feeling like she is better than everybody, she is in a clique of 4 girls and their main purpose in life is to oppress people they believe are not up to their standard and that is equivalent to 90% of the school population.
The funniest part is, Amber and Luke are siblings, I get tortured enough by Luke so I try my best to never cross paths with Amber.

Why is she hanging onto Brayan? Are they old friends? Why is he not not pushing her away? Those were the questions running through my mind before I saw Amber kiss Brayan on the cheek.

CHAPTER 4



"What the hell? Amber has her eyes set on Bryan, she'll be so mad when she finds out he likes you" Annie said with a devilish smile on her face

"I don't know if he likes me, don't get your hopes up so you don't end up getting disappointed"
"I feel negative vibes coming from you, you need to be more positive"
"Yeah yeah, your yoga class is doing things to you I don't like" I said laughing as we walked past Bryan and his new friends.

"Hey Rose! Aren't you going to say hi?" I heard Bryan call behind me, I turned round and smiled
"Hi, I thought you were busy with your friends" I could feel people glaring holes into my skull
"That shouldn't have stopped you, I had been looking forward to seeing you"

"Hey, well I guess I'm invincible, so I'll just go for lunch alone" Annie said, winking as she left

"Will you come with me to lunch? Bryan asked
"Are you asking me on a date?" I asked, he didn't get the joke and thought I was serious for a second before we both started laughing

"What's so funny?" I looked up and saw Amber beside Bryan
"I don't know you, are you new here?"
"No" I said, looking from her to Bryan
"Wow that's odd, I know everybody, what is your name"
"Rose Kent"
"Oh you're the nerdy girl always wearing that ridiculous bun, well I'm sure I don't have to introduce myself, everyone knows me"
Bītćh!! I thought before plastering a fake smile on my face
"Amber, Rose and I have lunch reservations, I'll see you in class" Bryan said winking at me, he took my hand and we went to eat together.

After lunch, we went back to our classes,
"You won't believe what just happened" I said immediately I got to Annie's seat
"What? Tell me"
"Amber saw Bryan and I talking, then her royal bitchness came over to display how bitchy she is, she called me the nerdy girl with the ridiculous bun, then she said she doesn't have to introduce herself because everyone knows her"
"Tell me you said something too"
"No I didn't, I don't want to start a war with her, I'm not that brave"
"The war has already started, talking of the war, what did Bryan do?"
"He told her we had lunch reservations and that he'd see her in class"
"That's sweet, he took your side, that means he likes you more" she said wiggling her eyebrows
"God!! You're disgusting" I said as I walked to my seat.

The rest of the day passed in a blur and nothing eventful happened, after school I went to the dorm to take a nap before supper.

At 6 PM, Annie woke me up to prepare for supper, we start going to the dining hall by 6:30 but they don't start serving till 7, we are allowed to wear whatever we want for supper so people use that avenue to display how fashion forward they are.

When I got up, I went to the bathroom for a quick shower and then opened my closet to check for what to wear, I picked out black pants and a pink sweat shirt then tied my hair in a loose pony tail.

When we got to the dining hall, I saw Amber talking animatedly with Bryan, she was wearing a short gown with skin tights and a black jacket. Bryan smiled and motioned for me to sit beside him, I smiled back and gently shook my head.

I sat with Jayden, Annie and Beth, a nice girl in my class, joking about stereotypes when the principal came in to give an announcement

"Good evening students, hope you had a wonderful first day today? I've got exciting news for us, we are having a talent show week, the first of its kind and you'll be allowed to attend a 2 day trade fair organized by the locals. The details will be posted on the school blog by 9 PM. Have a nice meal"
All the students clapped and cheered, the hall was noisy with people discussing what talents they'll showcase.

"Rose why don't you sing?" Annie asked
"Sing!!! You want the whole school to mock me? No, thank you" I said picking on my food
"You sing? I had no idea, please sing something" Beth screamed
"Shhh!! I only sing in the shower, everyone does"

After eating, as we were leaving for the dorm, I saw Bryan and Amber talking outside again
"Hey!! Wait up" Bryan shouted, running towards me
"Why didn't you want to eat with me?"
"I wanted to eat with my friends"
"Okay....you know there's nothing between Amber and I right? We are just friends"
"Who says there's something between you guys?" I said laughing
"I was just putting it out there, so may I walk you to your dorm?"
"Of course, so are you participating in the talent show?" I asked
"Unfortunately, I don't have a talent worth showcasing and I just joined the football team"
"Wow that's so cool but I don't go to football games. When is your first game?"
"It's in 3 days and you must be there, you'll be my good luck charm"
We both laughed at that
"I have to go in now, bye"
Bye, see you tomorrow"

CHAPTER 5


I can't believe 3 days have passed already, I shouldn't have promised to attend Bryan's game today, I have a bad feeling about it.
I was meant to go with Annie but she and Jayden have this thing they do where he kisses her before every game so she went earlier, now I'm stuck with Beth.
"Hey, why aren't you ready? We are about 15 minutes late" I heard Beth's voice.
She has boundary issues like not knocking before entering and not asking before taking people's stuff and it bothers me a lot.
"I'm ready, I'll just put on my shoes and we can be on our way."
"Okay, I can't wait to see Bryan play, I'm sure he'll be good, God he's so hot. Do you know if he has a girlfriend?"
"I don't know, we are hanging out after the game you can ask him then"
She went on and on about how she and Bryan would be perfect for each other until we got to the bleachers. We sat in front because Annie saved us seats.
I didn't really know much about the rules of the game but people were yelling Bryan's name I could tell he was doing something right.
A couple of minutes later I saw every one standing up and cheering so I decided to stand up too, then I saw Bryan walking towards where we sat,
"Is the game over?"
I didn't get a reply before Bryan got to me and whispered in my ears
"I knew you were my good luck charm" before kissing me on my cheek.
The crowd went wild, I was so shy I felt like burying myself under the ground. Then he went with his teammates into the locker room
"No wonder you didn't say anything when I was rambling on about how perfect we would be for each other, because he likes you" Beth sneered
I didn't even know how to defend myself
"Beth can you just shut your face for a second and be happy your friend finally found someone....oh my God I'm so excited, I knew you guys had a thing for each other, I don't know why you were hiding it, we can start going on double dates now"
Annie said, jumping excitedly.
We heard someone clear her throat and we looked up.
"What was that all about?" Amber said, with her goons glaring behind her. I didn't know what to say but Annie spoke up
"What was all what about?"
"If you're going to play dumb then fine, I'll spell it out for you, what do you think you are doing with Bryan? You're just a nobody, a nerd and you are not in his class, I have plans for us and I'll crush anybody that stands in my way"
"Th..There's nothing be...between Bryan...."
I started stammering before Annie cut me off
"If she's a nerd and a nobody then you're nothing but a slut, pinning for a guy who has no interest in you, do you think we are scared of you, you'll be the one getting crushed instead, bitch"
Annie said as she dragged Beth and I without even waiting for Amber's reply

"Why did you stammer, you shouldn't be scared of her, she can't do anything to you" Annie said as we walked to the locker room
"I won't lie I was scared I almost crap myself" Beth said, breathing for the first time.
"Pussies" Annie scoffed before running to hug Jayden
"Bryan meet my friend, Beth"
"Hello Beth" Bryan said, holding out his hand to Beth, she took his hand, blushing red
"Hi, it's nice to meet you"
"Okay enough with the introductions, I want you guys to help me talk Rose into participating in the talent show" Annie squealed with excitement
"I don't have a talent to showcase" I said glaring at her
"Okay, you can't hide it forever you know"
"Whatever, are we going to the lake or what?"
On our way to the lake, Bryan kept persuading me to tell him what my talent was but I couldn't because I knew he would want me to sing for him and I've never done so in front of anybody, except Annie.
We had fun at the lake, talking and eating snacks we took along and after a long day, we went back to the dorm to rest for the night.

CHAPTER 6


It's the day of the talent show and the school is very busy with people going about preparing for the show, I found out Amber and her clique are singing, but what do I care, it's not like I have intentions of going, I'll stay in the bed with popcorn and chocolates and watch movies till I sleep off.
"Rosie, why are you not dressed? We're gonna be late, wear something nice" Annie said as she got out of the bathroom,
"I'm not going, you know I don't like things like this"
"You have to go, it's not like you're performing or anything, you're just going to watch them and have fun, you can be such a buzzkill sometimes" Annie said, rolling her eyes
"I'm sorry but I made up my mind already"
"You know what? I'm not giving you a choice, you're going whether you like it or not" she said opening my closet and searching through my clothes, I sat on my bed looking depressed, this girl is going to ruin my plans of binge eating/watching today.
"Haahaa!!" She exclaimed with a smirk on a face as she brought out a short white dress with spaghetti straps.
"This is perfect, now get into the shower, you're wearing this"
"Is that not too much?" I asked with a confused look on my face
"No, it's just okay dear, get into the shower and stop asking questions" she said cleaning my silver strapy heels.

I shook my head, looking defeated and went into the bathroom, after taking my bath I got out and met her waiting for me in front of the mirror, fully dressed, she looked stunning as always, in her black short skirt and pink spaghetti top, her curled blond hair cascaded down her back like a water fall.
"Don't you look nice" I said with laughter in my voice.
"Sit, I'm doing your makeup, we are running out of time" she said rolling her eyes. I sat and watched her paint my face, when she finished, she weaved the sides of my hair, leaving my curls in the middle like a Mohawk. I looked at the mirror and couldn't believe my eyes
"God I look beautiful" I whispered louder than I had intended
"Thank you, I know I'm talented, wear your clothes and shoes carefully and let's be on our way"
"Thank you" I said before jumping to hug her tightly
"Don't mess up my make up" she said pushing me away but I refused to let go
"Where did you learn to weave this good by the way" I said as I wore my shoes
"One of my tutors is from Africa, I asked her to teach me, she wears really beautiful styles"
As we got downstairs we saw Jayden and Bryan waiting at the door, I felt really shy because I knew I was overdressed thanks to Annie
"You look amazing" Bryan whispered in my ears, I chuckled and said thanks
"Hey guys wait up" Beth yelled from behind, we waited for her and continued walking to the auditorium.
When we got to the auditorium we met Luke and his friends at the door, causing trouble as usual
"Hey Bryan, what's up" he said coming close to Bryan, they must be friends because of the way Bryan responded
"Luke my man, didn't expect to see you here"
"I had to come because of Amber, she promised to tell on me for something I did 8 years ago" they both laughed and I smiled too, it was quite funny
"Who's the beautiful lady?" He asked as he looked at me for the first time that night
"Rosie" He asked, surprise etched on his face
"Yea, hey Luke"
"You guys know each other" Bryan asked
"Yea she's in my class" he said still looking surprised
"Are you guys coming in or what" Annie called from the door, I dragged Bryan because the silence was beginning to get awkward, we went in and Annie led us to the front row as usual. The auditorium can easily contain up to 3000 students even though we are barely up to 500, the chairs were made with beautiful black leather, the auditorium itself was painted light brown and the stage was beautifully decorated with bright lights.

Shortly after we sat, the talent show began, the first performance was by a group of 3 girls called the singing angels singing a cover of sorry by Justin Bieber, they sang beautifully and everyone applauded, I could not deny the fact that I was enjoying myself immensely, about 3 other people performed before Amber and her girls got on stage, she wore a blue high waisted short and a white crop top, she let her hair down and accessorized with a big pink bow while her girls wore blue high waisted shorts, pink crop tops and big white bows, they danced to Crazy by Kehlani, I was surprised because I didn't expect them to dance that good.
After the performance she blew a kiss and winked a Bryan before giving me a dirty look which I didn't let get to me, then the principal got on stage
"Thanks Amber and the pussycat dolls, that was a very energetic performance, we've had 5 incredibly talented performers today, judges don't round up yet because there's still one more performance coming from Rose Kent, a round of applause for her"
The whole auditorium grew silent and I could hear everybody whispering.
I was in shock for about 5 seconds before looking accusingly at Annie, I immediately knew it wasn't her because she looked more shocked than I did, then I saw Amber and her friends at the corner laughing evilly.
"We are waiting Rose" the principal said looking pointedly at me
I looked at Annie, silently asking her what to do
"You don't have to go if you don't want to, but you should have confidence in yourself, your voice is amazing" Annie said, stroking my shoulder
"You really don't have to go" Bryan said, it was then I noticed i was holding his hand tightly, I gently let go and said
"I think I should go, I need to do this for myself" I said before taking a deep breath and going up the stage, even if I make a fool of myself at least I'll look good doing it.

I took the mic from the principal and took a deep breath before saying hi, the auditorium was as silent as a grave yard and I started to freak out. I looked at Annie then Bryan and he mouthed "you can do it" then I cleared my throat, tuned everybody out and started singing to Beyoncé....blue

When I finished singing I looked up and heard everybody cheering and screaming my name, I couldn't believe my eyes, the principal came to my side, took the microphone from me and said "what an amazing performance, please give it up to her one more time, I can easily say your performance was my favorite", I said thank you before I went down to my seat, when I passed beside Amber I could see the disbelief and shock written on her face, I didn't know I was still shaking until I got to my seat and Bryan held my hand and said
"it's fine now, you were amazing"
"Thank you, I can't believe I just did that" then I turned to Annie and we both screamed
"You don't know how proud I am of you"
She said still excitedly
"I know because I'm really proud of myself too"
"The judges have decided, and the winner of the first talent show in the history of this school is......."
The whole auditorium grew really silent as the principal tried to gather enough suspense before he announced the winner, I wasn't affected because I truthfully didn't expect myself to be the winner, I was still in shock about the fact that I actually went up on stage and sang in front of everybody
"Oh my God, I can't believe it, Ro! You won"
"Won what?" I asked, looking very confused
"You won the talent show" Bryan said, dragging me to the stage to collect the award
"Congratulations, you deserve it" he said, waiting for me at the end of the stage.

I walked to the principal, waiting to wake up from my dream, when I got to his side he handed me the award and waited for me to give a victory speech, but I couldn't say a word, I just stood there looking unbelievably at the award
"As we can all see she's still in shock from winning, but I'm sure she'll say something like thank you to all my friends for supporting me especially Bryan, the awesomely guy in school" Bryan said, saving me from the embarrassment before dragging me off the stage, when I got to my seat and was back to my senses, I looked at him and mouthed thank you.
Amber and the pussy cat dolls came second and the three angels came third.

After the talent show, the school organized an after party. At the after party, people who have never spoken to me before came up to me to tell me what an amazing singer I was, it was easily the best day of my life.

Chapter 7


Amber's POV

"That bitch" I thought as I walked to my room
"I can't believe she can sing, she turned my plans to embarrass her around, I have to find another way"
I heard a shout of surprise and noticed I bumped into someone
"I'm so sorry I wasn't looking at where I was going, it won't happen again" I heard the voice again, I looked up and saw it was Beth or what is she called, she's friends with Rose, I've seen her around and she's always poorly dressed with braces and thick glasses, I was about to snap at her when an idea popped into my head, and an evil smirk formed on my lips.
"Oh no biggie, it was my fault, my room mate went for her grandma's funeral, I'll be alone and I'm depressed about losing tonight, can you please come keep me company?" I said sweetly but she didn't respond, she looked at me clearly not believing what she heard
"Don't worry if you don't wanna come, I understand you have other commitments" I said with a sad face, if this was a movie I'm sure I'd win an Oscar for it
"No, I'd love to come, I just wasn't sure I heard right, someone like you wanting to hang out with me doesn't happen everyday" she said, pushing her glasses up
"Oh this is going to be too easy, I'll use her to get juicy secrets about Rose" I thought as I opened my door.

we had chocolates, watched a romantic movie, I shared some of my beauty secrets with her, heaven knows she needs them more than I do, we talked about almost everything, She was kind of fun to talk to so I decided to give her a makeover, maybe helping her become popular and pretty will speed up the process.

When I woke up the next morning she was gone, maybe she had an early morning class, I saw a paper on my nightstand with a mobile number on it which I assumed was her's,
"this is going to be so easy" I said as I texted her so she could get my number too

Rose's POV

"Ring! Ring!! Ring!!! The stupid alarm woke me up again, I groaned as I turned to check my phone, the first thing I saw was a message from Bryan
"May I have the honor of taking you, my sweet lady to the trade fair today?"
God he can be so cheesy sometimes I chuckled as I replied his message
"My lord, You have been granted the permission to take me to the trade fair, I look forward to our date"
"Thank you my lady, I'll pick you up by 5:00pm"
I smiled and checked the time, it was just midday, how do I pass time before then I wondered as I turned to check for Annie, she was still sleeping soundly, I rolled my eyes and got into the bathroom, I decided to take my bath, get breakfast and go to the library to study a little before I go to the trade fair.

I stared at my plate which was filled with eggs, bacon, toast and orange juice, I remember a time I would have felt very insecure just looking at the plate, thank God I overcame that.
I hurriedly ate my breakfast and went to the library, the library was like any other library, there were three large rooms, the discussion room, silent room and the elibrary.

The discussion room had lots of big round tables and chairs and it was always noisy, the silent room had rectangular chairs and barriers for privacy, the elibrary was equipped with close to two hundred computers and free wifi.

I got the books I wanted to study and went to the silent room, I checked my regular seat but there were people in it so I went to a seat I had been eyeing for a while, it was at the extreme end of the room and more private, when I got there I was shocked by what or who I saw, it was Luke, studying!!! I never tagged him as the studying type
"So you know how to read" I said startling him, he looked like a child that was caught doing something wrong
"If you ever tell anybody I'll kill you" he said, the annoying smirk back on his face
I rolled my eyes and checked the book in front of him, "this is for two grades higher than ours" I said looking shocked "yea, I may be going to college next year" he said as if it was normal,
I looked at him, really shocked this time around, is he like a genius or what?


"You should close your mouth before unwanted things get in" I scowled at him and closed my mouth, then took a seat beside him so I could study and funny enough he didn't disturb me or try to pass a comment, I guess beneath his evil exterior is something close to niceness.

I studied till 3:30pm, then got up to get ready for the trade fair, when I got to the room I rolled my eyes, Annie had already picked out a short floral dress for me, why is she trying so hard to keep Bryan and I together, I couldn't find her in the room so I assumed she was in the bath, she came out about 3 minutes later
"Do you like the dress I picked out for you" she asked, drying her hair with a towel
"Is it not too dressy, it's just a trade fair?"
"It's perfect, where did you go by the way?"
"I went to the library to study" I was about to tell her I saw Luke when I remembered he didn't want me to tell anyone
"Nerd" she said laughing at me, I rolled my eyes and went into the bathroom

At 5pm on the dot, Bryan called that he was downstairs, I looked at my reflection in the mirror for the last time before screaming for Annie to let's be on our way.
"Where's Beth? I've not seen her in a while" Annie asked looking at me
"I've not seen her too, we should check on her before we leave" Annie nodded In agreement

"Hey Bryan, long time no see" Annie smiled, greeting Bryan
"Hey" I said shyly, tucking my hair behind my ears
"Nah I want more" he said, moving closer with his arms opened, I didn't know how to respond to that and just stood rooted to the ground, he came round to me and wrapped me in a hug, putting his nose in my hair, my heart was beating frantically, I had never engaged in public show of affection, I felt an emptiness as he pulled back but I wasn't going to analyze it, I was still in a daze when Annie spoke up with a weird glint in her eyes
"We have to stop by Beth's, we've not seen her in a while"
"Yea" I said snapping out of my daze

Walking out of the dormitory we stopped by a small kiosk to get water before entering Beth's dormitory.

"Beth!! Where have you been, is it that you have better friends than us already?" Annie asked with her fake serious face

"Friend? What? No, why would you think that"
"Beth chill, you don't have to get all defensive, she's just messing with you" I said laughing, I can't believe she fell for it, she was already dressed when we got there so we left for the trade fair immediately.

Chapter 8



The trade fair was on an open field, there were colorful tents scattered all around with all sorts of products for sale, the first shop we entered was an antique shop, there were beautiful bracelets and chain, old statues, customized mugs and shirts, old bags, straw hats and lots more, what caught my eye was a journal, it looked so old and beautiful with a leather cover, it was beige in color and had a leather rope binding it, I considered buying it but I've never owned I diary and I wouldn't know what to write in it, it's not like my life is that eventful.

"Perfect", I heard Annie yell from the corner of the tent.
I went close to her and saw she was with Jayden and Bryan, I didn't even know Jayden had joined us, I must have been lost in thought

"Annie what the hell, you scared me, you don't have to scream over everything" I said rolling my eyes with a smile on my face

As I got closer she handed me 5 silver chains with lettered pendants with a different letter each, the letters were      A, B, B, J and R, representing our names.

"Our friendship chains instead of bracelets" Jayden said jokingly to Bryan
"That's what we get for hanging out with too many girls" Bryan replied causing everybody to laugh and Annie to hit him on the shoulder.

We went to the counter to pay for stuff we got and left the tent to check out others



The next tent we went to was a clothing store with beautiful, colorful sundresses. As we stepped in, the first voice we heard was Amber's. Jayden and Bryan were laughing, which made her turn to us

"Well hello" she said sweetly, coming close to us,
"How have you guys been? It's been a while" she asked, everybody were surprised at how unbelievably nice she was being
"Fine" we all replied in unison, still looking confused
"Your dress is very lovely, you look pretty in it" she said before walking out

"Okay, am I the only one that thinks Amber is possessed?" I said looking at my friends
"No you're not, something creepy is going on" Annie replied
"What if she's just being nice, people change, you guys should give her a chance" Beth said, talking for the first time that afternoon, trying not to look in our eyes
"Something strange is really going on" Annie whispered

The guys had already gotten over the shock and were picking out shirts and pants for themselves.

"Guys I'm hungry" Beth said as we approached a food truck,
"Is it just me or is Beth acting strange?" I whispered to Annie
"I noticed it too, I'll find out later" she whispered back, looking suspiciously at Beth.

The day went by fast and we had lots of fun, after eating we went to a floral shop where the guys bought a bouquet for us, then an art store, a shoe store and lots more.

We got to the dorm around 9 in the evening and were so tired, I had already fallen asleep when the sound of my phone woke me up
"Hello" I said, not bothering to check the caller ID with my voice heavily laced with sleep
"Rose, I didn't think you'd be asleep, can you please come downstairs?"

My head cleared when I heard his voice
"Yes I'll be there in a minute"
After sitting on my bed for about 10 seconds understanding dawned on me, then confusion

"Why is he here? Is something wrong?".
I jumped off my bed, wore slippers and went downstairs.
I didn't realize I was still in my oversized shirt and sponge bob boxer shorts until I saw him with a smirk on his face
"Jeez and my hair is probably rough too, I hope I don't look crazy" I thought as I ran my hands through my hair, trying to make it look a little presentable

"Wipe that smirk off your face" I said trying to sound very serious
"I can't because I'm enjoying the view from here"
"Are you trying to make fun of me? I rushed out because I thought something was wrong" I said tilting my head and looking up at him, challenging him to talk again.

He raised both his hands up as if surrendering, "you look really beautiful with your bedridden hair, make up free face and super sized clothes" he said smiling again

I rolled my eyes and looked at him,
"why did you call me here?"
"I needed to tell you some things and I want to give you something"
"What?" I asked still confused.

He sighed and got a backpack off his back, that was when I realized he even had one on, he opened the zip, stuck his hand in and brought out a gift wrapped object, I didn't know what it could be, all I knew was that it was flat.

He handed it to me and told me to open it, I opened it slowly and I saw the journal I was eyeing at the antique shop, how did he know?

I looked at him with questions in my eyes and he understood
"I saw you eyeing it at the store" he said smiling
"I didn't think anybody saw me" I replied more to myself than to him
"I don't have to want to look at you, my eyes just go where ever you are, i don't have to want to remember your voice but it is etched in my brain, I don't have to want to think of you, my mind just brings you up, I don't have to want to feel the way I feel about you but my heart has decided already, I know you may feel I'm being cheesy or not believe me at all but I really do feel strongly for you"
I was speechless and didn't know how to react, I just kept staring at my feet
"Rose please say something, don't leave me hanging, if you're not ready I'll wait till whenever even if it's forever" I don't know the kind of courage that consumed me, all I know is that I ran to him, hugged him tight and started crying
"You don't have to wait till forever, I'm ready now" I said with my head on his chest.

We stayed that way for about 5 minutes before I yawned
"Are you sleepy? you should go to bed, we'll talk more tomorrow " he said, his arms still round me and nose still in my hair
"Hmmm no, I want to stay right here" I moaned not wanting to move. He put his arms on my shoulders and moved from my embrace before reaching for his back pack again.

He stuck his hand in and brought out a small jewelry box and a bigger box, I couldn't see what was written on the bigger box because it was dark outside.
He opened the jewelry box, brought out a heart shaped pendant, split it in half and gave one to me

"You'll get a better look at it when you get inside" he said before handing the other box to me and hugging me good night.

He waited for me to go in before he turned to leave, I was so excited it took all my will power not to take a peek before I entered the room

"Where have you been? Jesus you scared me, I couldn't find you and I called your phone but it was on your bed. I was about to get dressed to go file a missing person's report" She didn't even let me enter the room before she started her drama

"I was outside with Bryan" I replied, then her eyes moved from my face to my arms and it grew very wide with a huge grin on her face

"Tell me everything and what's in the box?" Annie said pushing me to sit on my bed

I told her everything that happened from the kiss to him insinuating he wants us to be more than just friends, she held her palms to her mouth, trying not to scream, then she hit my shoulder
"Why did it take you this long to tell me? I'm mad at you, is it that you don't trust me?" She said, anger and sadness crossing her features, I felt really bad
"I'm so sorry, nothing like this has ever happened to me before and I wanted to be sure before I told you so you don't go all protective mother hen on him, I really am sorry" I said hoping and praying for her to forgive me

"It's okay but don't let it happen again" she said jokingly I laughed and hugged her, I really am lucky to have her in my life.

She took the journal and opened the pages, "now you have a lot of things to write in it" she said before picking up the pendant
"Wow it even has your initials on it" she said, tracing the letters
"Seriously?" I said snatching it from her as I saw the letters R.K.B.C

Annie picked up the bigger box, opened it and brought out a pink, heart shaped box, she opened the box and there were roses, chocolates and two tiny teddy bears

"Will you be mad if I tell you I'm falling for Bryan already?" Annie asked looking at me and laughing
"Why would he do all these things for me? Is it not too much?" I asked still a little confused, Annie rolled her eyes, held my shoulders and shook me back and forth
"Since you've not gotten the memo, I think he might actually be in love with you" she said, her voice laced with sarcasm

"I think I love him too but it's all just so overwhelming" I said, sincerely
"Rose can you just live in the moment for once? We should make the best of today and tomorrow, you know we resume classes next tomorrow, mo more free time on our hands" she said as she got up, patted my shoulder and went back to bed

I could not sleep and could not move from the spot I was sitting inearlier on, I'm falling in love with him more and more by the minute but what if he's not to be trusted? What if he breaks my heart? These were the questions running through my mind before I heard Annie's voice

"Rose! You don't have to overthink things, Bryan is a nice guy and he obviously loves you or I don't know why else he'll go through the stress to do these things for you, you're young, live life and if it doesn't end the way you want at least you'll learn something from it"

"Thank you" I said before I put the chain with the pendant round my neck, crawled in bed and picked up my phone, I got a text from Bryan which I opened immediately

                   Bryan

I'm in my room, trying to sleep but your thoughts keep coming to my mind, I know you'd be asleep, I don't want to disturb you but I can't help it, I'll give you a call in the morning

I woke up Monday morning not ready for school at all, my body had already gotten used to sleeping late and waking up late, it took all my will power not to turn off the alarm and go back to sleep.
I got up and dragged my feet to the bathroom and took my bath, by the time I finished taking my bath I was wide awake, I woke Annie up before going to get dressed for school.

I was excited and nervous at the same time as I skipped down the hall on my way out of the dormitory, Bryan was serious about his boyfriend duties, he suggested we walk to school together, as we opened the door, we saw Jayden and Bryan waiting outside, Annie left my side and went to hug Jayden while I walked shyly to Bryan

"Don't tell me you're still shy" he said holding my hands, I just smiled and nudged him with my shoulder.
We walked in silence, just enjoying each other's company. When we got to the front of the class, he waited for Annie to go in and told Jayden he would meet him in class.
"Bye, I have to do this so I don't think about you all day in class" he said before he gave me a quick kiss on my lips
"Bye" I said smiling before hugging him and going into the class.

Immediately I entered the class I saw Annie giving me a sly smile and winking, I tried to put on a straight face but I just had to smile and blush.

Time was exceptionally slow and I just wish I could speed up time, I couldn't pay attention, all what was on my mind was Bryan and meeting him during recess.

My days continued to follow a regular pattern, wake up, go to school with Bryan, meet up at recess, go to the dorm with Bryan, meet up every evening.
We got closer and it created a distance between my friends and I, I hardly had time for Annie or Beth, the only time Annie and I had to talk was when I was writing in my journal and I never paid full attention to her.

The part that should have scared me or made me feel guilty was that I stopped focusing on school or studying, Bryan became my number one priority, it was so bad that if I didn't see him in a day it affected me mentally, you could say I grew too attached.

Amber continued being nice too me, I knew something strange was going on but I didn't care.

"Hi Bryan, Rosie" Amber yelled, running towards us, talk of the devil.
"Hi Amber" we replied in unison
"Where are you guys headed, all loved up" she said looking to our hands, we were walking hand in hand, I was about to tell her it was none of her business when Bryan answered
"We are just taking a walk in the woods"
"Oh okay, my birthday is tomorrow and I want you guys to attend, she said handing us five cards with our names written in each
"It's by invite only, you won't be able to get in without one" she said smiling
After she left Bryan and I looked at each other and started laughing

"Where's she going to have the party anyways?" Bryan asked
"There's a hall provided by the school for birthdays"

"Rosie what are you wearing for the party? Annie asked looking through her clothes
"I want to dress casually, nothing too flashy" I said coming out of the bathroom, drying my hair.
I went into the closet and picked out a simple taupe wrap dress with a belt in front and burgundy sandals
"Rosie call Beth to see if she's ready so she doesn't delay us" Annie said, trying to get into her black play suit.
I called Beth but she was already at the party so we left to meet her there.

I must say, Amber did well with the decorations, the hall was beautifully lit with different colors, there was a cleared space in the center, probably for dancing and chairs by the side, there was an area by a corner, like a bar where a big fridge was placed with all sorts of drinks and water, an area for the DJ and another corner for snacks

As we entered the hall, Annie said she was thirsty so we went to the big fridge at the corner for drinks.
"It's so like Amber to show off with everything" Annie said, rolling her eyes at the expensively decorated room, it looked nothing like the barren hall it used to be.

"I'm going to see Jayden, come with me I'm sure Bryan is with him" there was a closed off section labelled VIP, Annie and I looked at ourselves and started laughing when we saw it, Amber can never change

As we entered I saw Amber and Bryan hugging but I didn't want to read meaning to it, I walked close to them and tried to talk to him, but he gave me a look that caused a cold feeling to run down my spine, I was terrified, is he mad at me? Did I do something wrong? I didn't know what to think, I was confused, I looked at Annie but she was busy with Jayden she didn't notice me.

"Hey, come here" I heard Bryan say to me, his facial expression had still not changed, I went closer to him not knowing what to expect then he grabbed my arm pulling me through the crowd to the back of the hall, when we got there he started kissing me roughly I could have pulled back or told him to stop but I couldn't, I was more aroused than I had ever been in my life and the only thing I wanted was to feel him, inside of me.

Immediately I entered I saw Annie rushing to me
"Where have you been I was worried?"

"Where's Bryan" she asked looking around

"what is going on" I thought, starting to get really worried

"You all understand the rules of the game right? Let's begin, guess who in this hall is a bastard, a product of an extra marital affair between a doctor and his LovePeddler, the same person is following her mother's footstep, she just came in from being thoroughly bleeped behind the hall. I know you guys want evidence" she said with an evil smile on her face before raising up my panties on a stick.

I was shocked I didn't know what to think, why would Bryan do something like this to me? Why would he betray me this way? What did I do to deserve this from him? I gave him everything I had, my heart, my soul, my body and this is how he pays me back, I didn't know when tears started to run down my cheeks, I looked to where I saw him earlier but he was no longer there, I just stood rooted to the floor

I could feel everybody turn to look at me, some shocked some with disgust, the strange part was that I didn't care, after I realized what Bryan did to me I tried to killed all the human emotions I had, I could hear people whispering but I didn't pay attention.

"You want to know if I'm saying the truth? Pull up her gown, she has no panties on, oh and there's a price for the person who confirms it first" Amber said again, that was when I started panicking, I looked round for Annie but she was no where to be found, I guess I have to defend myself this time around.
I saw guys coming to me from all angles and didn't know where to run then I felt someone grab my hands and pulled me through the crowd

"Luke are you crazy? Where are you taking her? Bring her back now" Amber screamed, sounding like a child that just lost her favorite toy
"You are bleeped up Amber, really bleeped up, you need help?" He said, glaring at the guys still trying to get to me.

He took my hands and dragged me until we got to my dormitory, I didn't know where we were going, I wasn't aware of my surrounding I just continued to stare blankly, at nothing.

"Rose are you okay? Jesus, I'm so sorry for what my sister did, I know there's nothing I can say now to make you feel better, please say something"
I looked up at him and smiled
"don't worry I'm fine" I answered
"You're not fine, act like a fucking human, yell, scream, cry, please just do something, you're scaring me"
"You want me to yell? Do something? If I could do something your sister and Bryan would be dead, is that what you want to hear? What did I ever do to her for her to do this to me?" I said, my voice lowering and tears starting to stream down my face.
Luke held me while I cried for a very long time until I felt I didn't have tears anymore, I pulled back and thanked him before walking into my dormitory.

As I got in Annie ran to me hugging me tight
"I'm so sorry I wasn't there to defend, please forgive me, I'm your friend, that's my job"
"Don't worry I'm fine" I said smiling before walking up the stairs like a robot.
As I entered the room, I stripped off my clothes and entered the bathroom, I got under the shower and started to cry again while I scrubbed my body so hard, I wanted to scrub his touch off my body, I continued to cry and scrub my body, I wanted to peel my skin off then the door opened and Annie walked in with a towel, she wrapped it round me and collected the sponge from me, she turned off the shower and led me to the room.
She already laid my night wear on my bed which I wore it in silence before handing a cup of hot tea to me.
I shook my head in silence but she insisted I take it so I did.
It was after I drank the tea I noticed she had joined our beds together. I laid down beside her with my head on her shoulder and started to cry again, she didn't say anything, she consoled me in silence, handing me tissues and running her fingers slightly through my hair.

I woke up early the next morning, it was a school day so I went to the bathroom to take my bath, it was when I got out I noticed the bed joined together and Annie looking at me with pity in her eyes, then everything registered, it wasn't a dream, Amber and Bryan really betrayed me
"Do you have to go to school today, you could report sick till the whole issue dies down" Annie said with concern in her voice
"No I can't do that, that's what they want and I'm not going to let them win" I said as I picked out my uniform and began to get dressed.
I was trying to put in a brave front but inside, I was very scared, I didn't want to meet any of them, God please don't let me meet any of them, God please, I thought over and over again as we walked down the hall, people turned to look at me, whispering, calling me names, slut, LovePeddler, bastard, just to name a few.
When I got to class I thanked God for my seat at the back, I sat in it and tuned everybody out,
"Rose it's time for break" Annie said tapping me, I can't believe 2 hours and 30 minutes had passed already and I didn't even see the professor enter the class not to talk of knowing what he taught.
"I'm not going" I answered her, putting my head on the desk, she stood there for a few seconds before leaving my side
"You don't have to push people out you know?" I heard Luke's voice beside me, but I didn't answer
"I know you heard me" he sighed but I still didn't answer
"I'm glad you came today, you are strong, try not to care about what they say"
Then I realized he saved me yesterday, what would I have done without him
"Thank you, for yesterday" I said before putting my head back on the desk.

The remaining time passed in a blur and it was time to go back to the dorm, I went to Annie's seat, she got up and we walked back in silence
"I want to walk through the flower garden" I said
"Are you sure it's a good idea" Annie answered, probably because that was where Bryan and I called our special place
"Yes I need to do this, to be able to move forward we have to come in terms with our past, then let it go" I answered looking determined, as we walked into the garden, all the memories came flooding in with full force, you're not going to cry, you're not going to cry, I repeated over and over in my head

"Rose I think you've seen enough, let's go back" Annie said, trying to drag me out of the garden
"No we just got here" I protested then my eyes travelled to the corner Bryan and I used to have our make out sessions, what I saw there gave me the shock of my life, I saw Bryan and Beth, the person I call my friend, making out, they were so engrossed they didn't even notice us.
