Boss I hail. Pls what makes a generator drop in voltage? I was using it earlier today and it was working normal. Fuel tank was full, same with engine oil. Though the gen was under the hot sun. After a while the gen was kind of vibrating, and at each vibration the light dims. I checked the gen's voltmeter and it was far less than 220V. I turned it off, hoping to turn it on again after a while. But what could be the cause of this? Thanks.
PS: the gen is Firman 1.8kva.

I'm thinking of buying a 2.2KW rated thermocool generator, can I use the Honda elemax or go ahead and buy the 2.2KW?

What are the disadvantages of underloading a generator?

I have a 2.5kva Tiger Gen. Just to be sure, there is visible flickering of light bulb and fridge door light after running the Gen for just 20min, there's no difference even when I ramp it up, is it capacitor or AVR?

note: I use this same Gen to power borehole pump

if ur gen uses avr, then ur avr is the cause.
but if ur gen uses capacitor, the fault is not frm the cap, but is the engine, ur engine is not running smoothly, cos is ur engine that control ur voltage if ur gen set uses cap.

no disadvantage per say, it will not burn ur appliances,
so there is no disadvantage of underloading ur gen, but there is disadvantage of overeloading.

yes is true, but if persist yell him to change the piston and rings, and that rubber cover should be change to iron type

thermacool 3.5kva is bigger in hp and kva than lutian,
lutian uses 6.5hp for their 3.5kva gen set,which is to small, 6.5hp is for 2.5kva,
