Why book an interview without an I-20 at your finger tips, Why take such risk in this our recession?
My little blunt advice: Going to the embassy simply means an outright denial, no questions will be asked. So do NOT waste your money or time.
If you can reschedule better for you.

. My friend hurriedly booked the appointment the last day the sevis was to expired. Initially he was admitted into a particular school last year, but couldn't continue with the process due to some reasons and the admission was deferred, when he contacted the uni for another i20 this year, the school requested for upfront payment of $3,000 which he couldn't afford at that time due to FX problem. So he had to apply to another school and the new school is yet to send the i20 till now. He booked interview on the last date shown on the website because he doesn't want to lose the sevis fee and was optimistic that the school would have sent the i20 before the appointment date. Till now he's yet to get the i20

Anyone in any of these schools: Georgia Southern University, Middle Tennessee State University and Florida Institute of Technology? I got admitted into these schools ( M.S Mechatronics, M.S Engineering Technology and M.S Electrical Engineering respectively) for Fall 2017 Term with out any information on funding. Only the Graduate Scholarship committee of FIT gave me a scholarship of $6000, which still doesn't cover the tuition fee.
Great schools, GSU has funding bUT most times u have to resume early and search yourself, as for FIT, u can hardly get full funding Dre, I have a colleague studying Electrical engineering Dre, the school is expensive but he is on ptdf scholarship dou...dunno much about MTSU even though I school in same state but not MSTU

Such a dumb. You called it a simple question but you couldn't simply use google to get your answer. Now I see why GRE is hard for you. And you will be calling yourself a prospective student, right?....... give me a break.

Since you're such a dumb and using google is too hard for you, I don't see how you would be able to cope in class in U.S. People like you are the reason genuine students get denied at the embassy.

Just get the fucck out of here.

Not everyone that visits this thread is educationally inclined. You're talking to a lazyass who couldn't do a simple online research.

Someone that couldn't use google wouldn't be able to use nairaland search button.

In the past when there was no restrictions, schools give scanned copy or info of I-20 on student's request. Probably, that's how he was able to make it through to interview date.

First, your friend in context made a silly mistake to have scheduled for an interview with the consulate without his admission packet. What if there's a typographical error on his I-20 so to speak? How would him correct that?

He should re-schedule before his payment becomes invalid. At least two to three months ahead wouldn't be bad at all.

Thank you so much. I appreciate your advice.

Sure, my final semester still remains my priority. Thanks for this invaluable advice. I will keep searching for schools while aiming for a stellar final year cgpa. Thank you once again. #fall2018.

In all you do, try to start reaching out to students in your program/school of interest. Sometimes, they are able to tell you what the strength of the program is and what is key in the application.

@imperiouxx.. Here are the answers to your earlier questions. Kindly advice please.

cmbagwu:
That was why I came on this platform to seek advice from the experienced ones.

I'm about to take IELTS which I'm still studying for.
I got the school from a colleague of mine who's studying there already. I also applied to Temple University, TSU and University of Pennsylvania.

I got my B.sc in 2011 and I have been working since. Presently, I work with one of the leading banks in Nigeria as a CSE and have been in the sector for 3yrs now.

I got a 2.98/5.0 due to some issues I had.

Presently, I have 2 cars in Uber that is generating income for me and I got a land somewhere in Lagos. I still work with the bank.

My dad is my sponsor. He is supposed to pay the tuition fees and I take care of the remaining school bills(housing, health, miscellaneous). So yes, my dad will be the sponsor. He's based in the US as a citizen that is why I'm a bit worried about going for the interview.

in this case one has to be forfeited. So ur frnd will choose between SEVIS fee or VISA fee. The only reasonable thing to do here is let the former sevis expire, Pay a new one, and reschedule the interview to accommodate the delivery of the i20. Reschedule well in advance this time.

1) You are allowed to bring ONLY original documents to embassy.
3) Bsc to CC na red flag. Why will u want to spend thousands of dollars to get a certificate inferior to the one you already possess?
