I am highly loyal to the men of the house. It's being a long time. I wish those who have gotten visas a safe travel and I wish those who are still applying a successful process. Just a word of advise: Dollar has gone up pretty much so be wise when applying to schools, paying application fees and sending packages. Do it wisely, ask questions, research schools properly so that you don't waste money. I will be available for any questions and thoughts.
Slimmy 2005 I greet you hope you are fairing well man.
how are you doing?

Please gurus help me attend to the following questions:

1. What is the estimation of the current appointment wait time both in Lagos and Abuja respectively, for booking an appointment for visa interview?

2. If asked during interview that how many schools did I apply to? Can I say ONE? If yes are there any consequences because going through past transcripts here shows peeps always answer "2-3 schools".

1. I don't think I fully understand your question. Please delineate.

2. Sure you can say yes. It is encouraged that you tell the truth. The consequence? During the interview, the VO is trying to determine if you're a genuine student and really wanna go to school and not some prospective migrant who simply wanna use the student route to gain entry into the US. If you asked me, I'd say a genuine student more often than not doesn't apply to just one school. He spreads his risks. Applying to more than one school shows that :
(a) You're keen on going to school.
(b) You have a contingency plan should one school not admit you.
Overall it strengthens your claim as a genuine student.

Thank you for your educative reply.

As for the first question, for instance, if I am to book for a visa interview today, how many days/weeks from today do you think the interview day can fall into? I am applying for Fall 2017 September and I don't want a case that the date to be given to me as interview appointment day would exceed that September

it could as early as tomorrow or next or any day depends on how available the slots are most especially now that application for student visa has declined you can get hooked up early visa appointment usually falls within the week or next of your scheduled date..unless you wanna wait till September to apply it can't possible exceed your resumption date or month

You're welcome.

I think I understand you now. First I don't think you can appear before the consulate anytime before 3 months to your start date. Second, the interview date isn't randomly assigned. Rather you choose from a list of available dates. Don't worry about not getting an interview date. Except you book an appointment in late July or August you won't have to worry about that.

Nothing to add... all have said it perfectly.
All the best. If you applied to only one school then work on your building a good transcript now and have good reasons why only that school

Also you can also find a school with free applicaton and apply ..lol. shebi the question is what other schools u applied to . Although u can be asked why xx school instead of yy

@bolded do you mean even if I should tell the VO that I applied to 2 or 3 schools whereas I applied to one, there is a way for them verifying the truth?

I personally don't think they verify they wouldn't have time for that unless they can get the email of all the schools ask them whether someone with your name applied then get a reply there and then which is impossible or there is a database where schools right names of candidates that apply so they can access it easily (don't take this one to serious before fear go catch you for there grin ). the fact is stating whether you apply more than one school doesn't matter.what matters is having good explanations and convincing reasons why you wanna go to the school you've chosen to attend.

@Bolded. That is a very wrong assumption or info. US embassy encourages students to apply as early as possible for a visa. But the visa can't be issued more than 120 days (4 months) to the program start date. In the case where you applied early enough and your visa is approved, the passport won't be returned to you earlier than 120 days to the program start date.
I got this info from a VO during an online students' visa question and answer live chat program.
Apply as early as you can.
