Memories...
I served in Uyo and it was kinda boring at first _ till I got to know my way around town. Le Meridien was the spot we go for chapman and irish potatoes... grin
Night movies @ Ibom Tropicana, that cinema meat pie dey sweet sha.
Ibeno beach, went there twice (very bad road leading to Eket).
Went to the museum once and it was dry, but I used to sit with my friends at the lawn to gist.
I bought foodstuffs at Akpanadem, groceries at Shop n Save.

Then four-lane all the way to Nwaniba!!! That's where we used to race... cheesy
for the road ,that was then, now the road is under construction or if am not mistaken it almost done,so no more bad roads

Uyo is a peaceful place, less touts and hoodlums.
Good road and traffic management
.

I love their food, but I make sure I didn't eat any meat all through my stay cheesy

Why did you avoid the meats?

Ibeno is hidden deep inside eket and nothing fun about the beach apart from suya and booze... grin
We are on the same page! Op said trip to uyo meanwhile ibeno isn't in uyo.
And I agree with u. Ibeno is boring too. Even the beach sand is blackish due to carbon deposit!

This Op.., you must be a learner !!

So after mentioning all those things upandan.,you forget to include ....

...chilling out at a local bush bar to dissect a 404 (dog) meat and flush it down with fresh natural palmwine..

Uyo very peaceful and clean city.
Lots of fresh air. I'm happy I lived there, but needed to move out for more hustle.
Uyo you remain deep in my heart.

They need to do something about that beach.
The sand isn't clean, but can be better, the bars are not well organised.
As you said the op goofed. Ibeno is Ibeno, it ain't Uyo, neither is it Eket.

Uyo quite cool. I enjoy chicken and plantain.
Ibeno beach ..... Most of what I enjoy there is the suya, fish barbeque, and I order for my barracuda, shark and crayfish from there. Quite cheaper

Akwa Ibom state is the safest state in the East of Niger. It is a heaven compared to her contiguous neighbours.

thank you, i was once in uyo 8 years ago for business trip and was surprised by the orderliness of the residents. Traffics and street light with good road network. Uyo is very neat. i was planning to relocate to calabar but the issue of security concerns is bothering me, i currently stay in Aba and security is the chief reason of my relocation. Calabar would have been best though. Do you stay at Uyo?
