Have you changed anything recently. That she could be reacting to?

Analyse Everything from baby products ( food, soap, cream etc)to the detergent you use to wash her clothes, to if you have had a new help around the house.

It could be something a simple as she is reacting to the detergent. Try rinsing her clothes one or two more times to make sure all the detrrgent is gone.

Try elimination methods to see if anything is either triggering or aggravating it.

Hello experience mamas and pediatricians in the house, please come to my rescue cos am going nuts. My 8 months old baby is having severe dry skin that refused to go. It makes her legs looks very old, dry, cracked and scaling. I have been applying moisturizers yet no improvement. It started on one leg below the kneel, now it extended to her thigh and the other leg as too. It's getting worse by the day. Don't what to do any more

Has any one experience this before, how did you treat it. Please help

I used a mixture of Shea butter and coconut oil and it peeled off,, u could try that.

Pls mothers here help, my child has little boils on his head someone suggested I should be bathing the 5months old baby with rainbow medicated soap and rubbing it on the head briefly and wash after. Can I use it?

Please kindly take your child to see a pediatric doctor.
Don't self medicate on a child.
You are right, but while advising people, don't just assume that they are illiterate. I only wanted to know if rainbow medicated soap can be used on a 5months old baby as my wife has already purchased one, which she said two women have told her that they used it on their child when he/she had similar hair rashes/boils. I told her not to use it until I made my own inquiry. So I just wanted to know if anybody have used that soap here on their baby.

For such dry skin, I would suggest E45 or Cetaphil or Eucerin

hello mamas...pls there is this whitish thing like dandruff on my 3months baby's scalp...I don't know what to do to remove it.I wash and oil her hair after her bath morning and night?

You can oil her hair and then use a comb and scratch it off. Then also while washing. Continue to oil her hair. Its what I did.

I dont think all of them have preservatives. Many good brands, heinz, cow&gate, ellas kitchen etc are all made without preservatives. Jar, pouch and can foods are heated to kill all bacteria and sterilize it then sealed to preserve freshness. That is why they say once opened finish within 3 days or so.

I have frozen cooked apples, kiwis and mangoes with no issues..... even Watermelon should not be an issue to freeze as well. Banana and pawpaw well are the only ones i can think of that dont freeze well in my opinion.

If one doesnt have good power supply you may just have to make the meals a couple of days in advance at the most and heat up if necessary before feeding baby.

Although if you have to provide the meals for creche....... you need to discuss what facilities they have to heat up your baby's food. If they have a steamer then you should be fine. If they are using microwave, well its your decision if you want them to use it. .

One could also include easy fruits like banana and maybe avocado that you can just peel and mash with a fork.

In place of ice trays get small bowls with a tight fitting lid. 1. So it doesnt spill if knocked over and 2. So water does not get inside if you have to dip inhot water to heat up.

Pack foods one portion per bowl to avoid excessive handling.

There is no easy solution oh jare... God help us parents make the right choices.

Great sis. You guys are super mums.

my motto na "help me to help you". if you are stressed out, maybe you can find away that he can assist you so you can get a bit more rest.

Try Switch roles a few weekends.... let hubby handle the baby at night, you move to another room to get a good nights uninterrupted sleep in preparation for early morning activities tongue. I will assure you that he will appreciate you better when next you say you are tired.

Broda, I don't think her advising you to see a Pead means she thinks anybody is illiterate. I myself don't know anything about Rainbow Medicated Soap and if presented with this situation (boils and rashes at the same time), I will stop applying my lo's regular cream and take baby straight to the hospital.

I hope your baby is getting better now. If so, please what did you eventually use?

I concur, communication is key. You could tell him areas you need help and if he eventually cooperates, i'm very sure it will be better.

I understand that some men are not too domesticated. If your hubby falls along this divide then you need lots of patience in driving home your point. Mine didn't want househelp (that can only work for now sef) but when the do was about to start and he met resistance, he started helping here and there so I no longer complain unlike before.

we're using coconut oil with an anti bacterial cream mix with sulfur. It's been clearing gradually. We want to change the bath soap for the baby. That's how rainbow soap came into the picture. Baby is fine, gaining weight, no fever, and very active. Everyone say is not something serious. I honestly didn't want antibiotics for the baby now. I will see a doctor if condition did not improve, but it is improving.

Well said!. I do exactly the same but i add other dry fruits like raisins, apricots and any dry soft fruits you typically use for baking.

Fab sweetner for baby cereals.

Since like 11 months we have been on adult cereals: weetabix, cornflakes, quaker oats, rice cripsies etc

You can also crush normal cornflakes and mix with baby rice and your sweetner and add milk.

Or blend banana in the milk and use to prepare the cereal.

Cow and gate cannot use me to declare profit this 2017!

thank you ma for this.

Hello.
I don't really advise anything medicated for babies

Why dont you try Dove Pure and Sensitive. Many moms sweat by it.

PED didnt really have much to say sef. As at last Monday she was 3.1kg. the Dr said I should keep doing what I was doing to make her put on weight...H said w should do FBC not like she isn't eating. Am actually depressed right now the feeding thing is weighing m down . She is sucking now but I don't know if she is getting enough milk as she can stay on it for hours non stop and still collect formula .. Not encouraging. Although she looks bigger.

i replied you the last time, what worked for me.
let me explain again,
try and express the milk at day, to guage what she is eating.you can let her suck at night if u don't have strength to express
you can even feed with cup and spoon.
you might think she is sucking and she is not even latching well.
so Ma, the ball is in your court.

she is latching very well now .. That's exactly what I did that increased her weight, she takes 120ml at a stretch every 3hrs. Now I can't express lil or nothing comes out. Although when she finish sucking her mouth is very wet. I browsed and saw its normal. All I want is for her to suck directly and only breastmilk

Did I in anyway imply so? I never insulted your person as an illiterate.
I simply advised you to see a pead doctor and not self medicate.
If you have been following this thread, you would have known that to see a doctor before self medicating has always been advised.
Thanks.
