Not too bad. If they can win this one they should make it to the next round easily.

Extract from Pep's latest pre-match conference/interview where reports say he deflected back questions on Nacho's and Aguero's future with the club but also had this to say about Nacho

Already, We know Pep confesses his admiration for Nacho's beastly dedication to training and his improvements too but yet nothing to make him play Nacho enough... He calls Nacho "Keli" and claims he didn't play too much for "my reasons"..... thank God Summer don come sef.... angry

It is obvious Nacho is still so highly rated at the Etihad but lad needs to get a move on to bigger things....

Well. My conclusion is that, pep has nothing against our boy.
It's just that he is not upto 80% his type of player.

He sees kc as a guy who depends on the ball reaching him in the pk box while he does the rest. Which i guess is exactly what he is. A finisher

to review match deciding decision or events like offside goal of south Korea yesterday, reckless challenge of that Argentine player and then mistaken identity in case of giving the wrong player a red card or yellow

calling for video reviews depends on the ref nd the referees sitting in the control room behind the system

I really feel pity for SA after starting so brightly. They were gunning to emulate their SA neighbors Zambia who proved book makers including me wrong today. Let's just see how far these African teams can go.

But me I have potted to supporting Engleria( England + Nigeria) for obvious reasons.

The video review is usually the last resort. If the referee is undecided he seeks the opinion of the assistant refs. And if they too are not decided they call for a video review.

In a situation where the ref is very sure of an action he does not need to consult the assistant refs not to talk of the video replay.

If for every contentious issue you call for video replay it is going to distort the flow of the game, waste more time and even bore the viewers/crowd.

I don't see SA having the mental toughness to last in their group they missed chances that could have closed the match out and they have proved they didn't learn from their Senegal loss.

I wonder how u didn't rate Zambia because they have a very experienced team with alot of league matches under their belt unlike the south Africans.

West Ham Gives Onyekuru Deadline To Accept Personal Terms Else Deal Is Off

English Premier League outfit West Ham have set a deadline for hot in demand Nigerian forward Henry Onyekuru to accept the terms they are proposing to him after reaching agreement with Eupen over his transfer fee.

Red hot Onyekuru took his season tally to 25 in all competitions with a brace last night for Eupen against Roesaelare in what was his final game for the modest Belgian team, where he has spent the last two years.

His form this season has led to interest in his services from all round Europe, but the 19 year old has made it clear he wants to move to England amidst interest from Crystal Palace, Everton, Southampton and West Ham.

However as exclusively reported by Owngoalnigeria.com, West Ham have reached an agreement with Eupen for a fee in the region of £7m for his transfer, but are yet to trash out terms with the forward, who has been called up to the Nigeria senior national team.

West Ham have now set a deadline of two weeks to complete talks with the forward else they try out other options following the conclusion of his teams commitments in Belgium, where they were involved in the play-offs.

Former Arsenal Star Of Nigerian Descent Adebayor Doubtful To Face Super Eagles In Paris

Former Arsenal star Emmanuel Adebayor is a big doubt to suit up for Togo when they tackle Nigeria in an international friendly in Paris on June 1.

The Sparrow Hawks coach Claude Le Roy has included Adebayor on the list of four strikers he has summoned to a training camp in France ahead of their African Cup of Nations qualifier against Algeria.

The İstanbul Başakşehir striker might not make it to France because the Turkish Super League will end on June 3, and on top of that he'll be involved in a very important Cup final against Konyaspor a day before the meeting with the Super Eagles.

The Nigeria Football Federation did their homework well before announcing their 25-man roster, leaving out Turkish-based quintet Eddy Onazi (Trabzonspor), Kenneth Omeruo (Alanyaspor), Nosa Igiebor, Godfrey Oboabona (both Rizespor) and Emem Eduok (Kasımpaşa) from the training camp, which is outside Fifa's international window for national teams get-together.

Adebayor was born in Togo to Nigerian parents 33 years ago and visits the country's commercial capital, Lagos, regularly.

who will be at loss if not them...
as far as I am concerned....onyekuru will still get a far better club..
even the price tag on the lad is too small ...
probably because he is an African or eupen are just being childish... the dude ought to be sold in the region of 10-20 million pounds

Brown Ideye On Target For Tianjin Teda After Food Poisoning Scandal

Experienced Super Eagles striker Brown Ideye found the net for Tianjin Teda in their 1-1 draw with Odion Ighalo's Changchun Yatai on Sunday.
There was a scandal before the game, with the visitors from Mainland China complaining that several of their players suffered physical discomfort on Saturday as a result of food poisoning symptoms, which is due to the food they ate at Shangri-La Hotel.
One minute into the second half, Ideye equalized for Tianjin Teda with a volleyed acrobatic effort in the six-yard box.
It was his second goal in the colours of Tianjin Teda after firing blanks in his last three games before today's clash at the Development Area Stadium.
Another Nigeria international striker Obafemi Martins netted a consolation for Shanghai Shenhua in their 3-1 loss to Shanghai SIPG FC on Saturday.

Report: Tottenham identify Kelechi Iheanacho as summer signing
By Dan Coombs

Tottenham want to sign Kelechi Iheanacho from Manchester City.

Manchester City's Kelechi Iheanacho scores

Tottenham have entered the race to sign Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho.

The Sun (p66 21/5) claim Spurs have joined six other Premier League teams in tracking the Nigerian.

Iheanacho broke into Manchester City's team as a teenager but has been unable to hold down a starting role in the team.

He is expected to push for a move this summer having failed to convince manager Pep Guardiola that he is deserving of regular game time.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola speaks with Kelechi Iheanacho

Iheanacho has made only five Premier League starts this season, but managed to score four goals and has three assists.
He has also managed to score twice in the Champions League this campaign.

Spurs are looking to find alternatives for star man Harry Kane, with Vincent Janssen failing to step up in his first season at the club.

Manchester City's Kelechi Iheanacho scores

Iheanacho was seen as City's back up for Sergio Aguero but his role has been minimised since Gabriel Jesus signed.

The youngster was one of the world's most coveted teenagers after impressing at a youth tournament for Nigeria and after Manchester City won the race he quickly forced himself into Manuel Pellegrini's plans.

His future may not lie at City but they will have to be cautious about letting him leave for a team as close to contending as Tottenham for fear it damages their own chances.

Agent – Maybe Everton Or West Ham But Man City Won’t Sell Iheanacho To Spurs

Manchester City out of favour striker has courted interest from lot of teams in Europe with English side Tottenham Hotspur the latest to be linked with the forward.

City want a straight cash deal for the forward in the region of £20m and not loan as speculated in some quarters. A fee that most teams in England can afford with West Ham and Everton also linked with the 20 year old.

However while City have made it clear to the Nigerian that he can leave, they have however made it clear to him and his advisers that a move to any of their title rivals won’t be accepted.

Spurs are one of the teams City view as title rivals, and selling a prolific forward to them will be more like strengthening a rival, something coach of Man City Pep Guardiola won’t accept.

” It’s clear he won’t be sold to a direct title rival by Man City, so when I see the reported interest from Spurs, I know if it becomes official it will be dismissed outrightly, but Everton and West Ham we will have to wait and see”, his intermediary told Owngoalnigeria.com.

Hahahaha. I remember that 'waste pipe' tag.

That was harsh men.

I know his problem. He doesn't like any made in Nigeria player.

Na Borough things him like.

Presumption without substance, silence does not necessarily equate to consent.

Before Etebo had smelled national team set up I was already clamouring for him to come to Europe. However, some may think it is tribal sentiment.

After Sunday Mba's exploits at AFCON 2013 I was in discussion with a EPL club to bring him here.

I withdrew from those pursuits of which money was not my main motivating factor. The Sharks around these guys made it difficult for progress to be made, I withdrew.

I probably know a lot more Nigerian national coaches and internationals on personal level than you can imagine.

I am not sentimentality biased in the name of misguided patriotism to just big up a player because he is Nigerian. Furthermore I do not discriminate Nigerian is Nigerian whether born in Kano or London.

What is the unit of measurement for excellence Back to Isaac Success is it promising to deliver or actual delivery. So far irrespective of his huge price tag he has failed to deliver woefully. There is nothing biased about that just cold hard facts, the stats are there to see.

Ahmed Musa to open N500m sports complex in Kano
By Colin Udoh

Nigeria forward Ahmed Musa will open a sports complex estimated to be worth about N500 million in Kano next month.

The facility, which has two five-a-side pitches, a gymnasium, lounge, restaurant and a large multipurpose events hall, will be officially opened to the public on June 15

"People like football in Kano and they pay money to train in different places so I thought it would be good to have a standard place where all these people could have a good place to train, play football and relax too," Musa told KweséESPN .

"They like playing in the night too so this will be a good comfortable place to play football under floodlights and also to rest," he said.

Musa, who began his professional football career with hometown club Kano Pillars, remains a favourite among the fans in the ancient city.
