Good day everyone, I've been a quiet follower of this thread, a newbie in the biz and I must confess I've learnt alot from the gurus here. I've been storing since March as much as I can since I don't have much of a capital n my partner and I have over 10drums of palm oil. Can't wait for the right time to sale them and make some extra cash. Don I'm counting on your help to sale the off them

Congrats for taking the bold step into entrepreneurship.
What type of oil are you storing? First grade? And you have to be checking the oil regularly,to make sure they are still in good condition.
As for sales,if you can store until scarcity period,you just need to show a little sample of your oil to traders,if it is in good condition,they would be the ones chasing you.

congrats on ur storage! so long as it's first grade, u r already w millionaire. disposing them, clients will be hunting for u around d scarcity period.if u hv difficulties, holla me, I will assist u.

Update: Price still remains 10500 as scarcity of fruit worsens. only few old customers are selling @ 10k presently.

1: it's rainy season, so it's usually difficult to climb d Palm tree as it's slippery during this period. it's height alone is intimidating let alone d heavy rains that will make d tree slippery to climb.
2: the fruits hardly get ripe and ready for harvest due to poor pollination
3: most dealers know d importance of this month, so hoarding and storage begins in earnest.
4: The poor yield from Palm fruits discourages d women from going into productions.
the list is endless, pls add urs
@eezeribe, peeo, menwongo,clasictutor, sanod,tublez and other dealers in d house.

How to survive the hike gradual in Oil price
As d price of oil begins to increase its necessary to enlighten d house and dealers on d best way to survive d changes in price:
A good dealer shud buy as much volume as his capital can carry so as to absorb d effect of price change with time. even if it means buying on credit from trusted suppliers, it's worth d risk cos d increment is just beginning. the trend will continue till October when it may drop a lil before finally shooting to its peak.
So do more of storage than supplies @ this point to cater for ur customers needs for d next 4 months before restocking by October.
The quality of d stored Oil shud also be of Paramount concern so u don't end up loosing! ensure u store d right grade and @ d right time.

5. If at all the palm fruit ripe, it will rotten fast on the tree if not harvested in time due to heavy rain falls.

6. Also harvested fruit that rain beats rotten immediately leading to low quantities and quality of oil when milled. (8 bunches of palm fruit that produces one 25 liters now produce 20 liters)

And funny enough,the transporters still insist on the normal cost of transport,even when the women are carrying fewer heads of palm fruit.
This is a loss on their own part,and a contributor to the premature scarcity.
