Thanks for your prompt response sir, I have serious love for Honda too but a 2012-2016 Honda pilot is far from my budget how about a 2009- 2010 Honda CRV. Also what is your verdict on the 2007 Toyota highlander

Buy the 07 pilot, but there are models with VCM and models without. Buy the model without VCM wink

Bros so how much does it take to replace the engine of a Toyota camry 2010
Re: ASK GAZZUZZ by DUNKA(m): 4:03am On Jun 22, 2017
kingreign:

Take the toyota Tacoma. It shares parts with Toyota 4runner. Its mid sized. More fuel efficient and easier to maneuver within and around traffic compared to the others. The tundra and F-150 are good haulers. They haul heavier cargoes via hitch or in their buckets compared to the Tacoma. They are NOT suitable for very rough or off road terrain compared to the Tacoma. If going for Tacoma, ensure its ladder frame has not been bent or exposed to rust elements.
thanks boss

GAZZUZZ, got my very first overheating problem. It looks electrical. The car has been throwing one problem or the other.

This evening returning from work, i just had a dash with another car but to my amazement something quite out of place happened. Fuel needle was very very low but the other needle was above half, i was shocked.

I stopped, popped the hood, with engine still running, a small coolant pipe leading to cold start portion of the throttle body was hissing vapour and has splashed my very old green coolant that has never been drained. I can see coolant all over but no fan blowing nat that high temp. I turned off the engine and returned ignition to on (II). Turned the AC on (engine off) and fans came on. Turned it back off. Started the car and let it idle for more than 5mins while i connected my bluetooth OBD II device. Coolant temp show 113 degrees celsius but no fans. I topped the coolant reservoir with water and drove home blasting full AC as temp dropped to steady 104-105.

Got home and swapped fan relay but no difference on idle. All fan fuse are intact. Note AC blower fuse is ok since AC is blowing.

I have read about fan switch on thermostat housing but cant find any switch there. Am lost now please help.

Thanks.

I know 08 accord has it there but didnt see it on mine, may be i have to look from under.

My reading yesterday suggested jumping its 2 pin connector, this will make it run direct from ignition. I will do that while i look for its replacement.

Hello Mr Gazzuzz
Please I need your advice

My car a Toyota Avalon 2001 v6
Makes a loud rattling noise on start up when the engine is cold, the sounds goes off in seconds.

Also noticed that these days there is a consistent low rattling sound coming from within the engine when it's running.

The car seems to struggle to move when the Ac is on, it doesn't have a rough idle though.

My 'kazeems' have def finished this car.

Any ideas on what to do? Cost implication? Should i just dump the car already for public transport?

Cheers.

These are a lot of codes, they will require interpretation. Usually, when there are 1 or 2 codes I do that, but for this, I will wait for the complete scan result and code.

Yea, couldnt see it but touched it.

The jumper did the magic. I went to work and back through hold up but no heating. I was scanning live during the trip in the morning. Temp at hold up was 88-90 degrees celcius and highway 85-87.

I called the electrician to find it for me, but he said he couldnt find it. He said i should come to him for solution i said no, thanks.

you can get it off a civic 2000-2005 engine, or an accord 1998-2001 engine, or a city 2005-2009engine. Also on a pilot 2003 engine

I remember swapping the thermostat housing on my sisters 05 Civic and remember changing the sensor when her engine was changed. Her car is parked now, i will remove hers since hers has since been on direct.

Or will contact the guy we sold the bad engine to, he might still have the old one.

Thanks for the direction. I hope they have the same temp switch range with mine.

Greetings Chief.

We've spoken on the phone a few times in the past...

You suggested the Cepsa 20w 50 which isn't a bad buy, I did that but my engine was already a mess at that point and was on a salvage mission.

Oh well sir! I was transferred to Kaduna so my vehicle was left unused for 2 months. I came back to lagos on Tuesday to take it to Kaduna.

An hour into the journey. Approaching the toll gate, Ibadan... I had engaged Cruise control earlier and kept steady @ 120kph, braked for a second, re-engaged the cruise acceleration and suddenly the RPM needle rose to 6,000, oil light illuminated on the instrument cluster and engine stalled on the highway.

I pulled over, opened the engine oil housing cap and there was smoke gushing out. Started it again and the sound of the engine was off... I immediately knew my crankshaft, metals, pistons, oil pump.. Everything was fried.. Had to tow vehicle to Ibadan.

Sir. Note that I saw this oil warning light while I drove the car a day before, I pulled over, checked engine oil and it was regular... I went to the mech and he said it was the oil fuse bla bla bla.. They fiddled with something and said everything was alright. Idiots! Or maybe I'm the idiot for trusting them too much.

If I'd known, I'd have gone to the Internet for help and perhaps I might not have made this trip in the first place.

Toyota camry, 2003. I4-cylinder, 2az fe.

What do you think sir.. Rebuild or total overhaul?

The car is in Ibadan, I'm in Kaduna.. So I can't even get it to your garage in Lagos.

And I will sit back and enjoy your several threads on engine rebuild and replacement.. Even the latest one, the Honda Accord. I didn't know my own will come so soon and my pocket will leak this badly.

Drive a 2002 Honda baby boy

I discovered anytime the car is stationary, like inside traffic, the AC doesn't work well, that it doesn't blow cold, it just manages to be cold, the car be getting stuffy after a while.

But immediately it starts moving the AC be becoming cold. And it keeps on moving, it becomes ice cold, that is works perfectly.

What could be wrong?

Sadly you will have to replace engine. 2az-fe is about 300k at the moment, not a good time to loose an engine.
