[quote author=autojosh post=58123781]We put a lot of faith in our cars, but sometimes they can’t help but mess us up. Sure, the most convenient place for your car to breakdown is “Home”. However, they usually breakdown away from home. My Volvo broke down very close to sambisa forest at exactly 9pm.. Wasn't funny oo |

Lloydfolarin: Sorry abt that bro, I thought UK is one of the best countries to have a break down. Reason cos there are emergency phone booth every 2 miles on each side of the road. As to have someone stopped to help, that won't happen. Most people will think a professional help is on the way. So instead of waiting, you could have walked back or forward to the emergency phone booth. Sorry, ignorance is obviously a disease. |

My cars Tyre was shredded by a sharp object on the road leading to Carter bridge, in front of Oba Idungarun, the Palace of the Oba of Lagos. The above event occurred at about 9:15pm, on my way home from work. Before you could say, 'Jack', many strange guys sprung out from the darkness. Their leader ordered me go pay them 5k for me to be able to change my tires or else I will see the back of my head. I think I gave them about 3k before they then assisted me to change my Tyre and then I drove off. 2 Likes |

1am just about to climb 3rd mainland bridge heading to the island....... I had my "supermodel" mistress with me. Frankly not sure what scared me the most..... the potential rapists or what I'll tell my wife (that is if I am alive to tell the tell)...... But I witnessed the kindness of people same time. |

Papalanto. I haven't passed that road since this particular event and I hope I never have to again. Anyone who travels between Lagos to Ogun State, particularly Shagamu must know about the infamous Pappa road. Our car broke down around 7pm on that cursed road . .it was scary as hell as people tend to not drive through there at night because of the bad road. It was eerily quite and to make matters worse ,the head lights of the car stopped working as the driver was trying to detect what was wrong with the car. To cut the long story short, the car was eventually fixed around 10pm but the headlights still refused to come on so we had to drive through that messed up road in pitch darkness. .the driver had to drive at a snail pace to avoid colliding with the dangerous bumps framing the rough road. .one of the passengers provided a pocket torch but the light was not bright enough to penetrate the thick darkness. . thank heavens for the moon that night. .I don't know how we would have navigated our way through the night. We got to Shagamu after 1am. -It's fun getting scared, when you know it's not for real. .like the fear you feel when watching horror movies. Scary, but not real. -Then there's the different type of fear- Fear of the unknown. Fear of the dark. Fear of knowing that any bad-intentioned person or wild animal (ok maybe I watch to much movies but it's been known to happen) could jump out of the bushes to attack you. .as we were literally sitting ducks inside that car. .with nowhere to run to in the dark if such happened. This kind of fear is real and bone chilling. I hope no one experiences it. 1 Like |

yhemster: I presumed you read my write up cos it was stated right there that i was at the phone booth when police car pull over. The police guys saw me while they were heading towards Gatwick/Heathrow airport but couldn't stop cos of their speed. I guess they went to the next roundabout to make their way towards me(The same way to London), by then, i was already at the other side of the road trying to use the phone booth. They were shocked to see me at the other side of the road. They asked me how did i get to the other side of the highway? I told them that i crossed the highway and that was when they said it was an offence... 1 Like 1 Share |

Lloydfolarin: From what you wrote, I presume you were uninformed abt those phonebooths. You claimed you were stranded for 4hrs while trying to seek help from those driving by. My point is wherever car breaks down on the motorway and unfortunately the phone is dead, the next time to do is located the nearest emergency phone booth. They're on both side of the road, 2 miles apart on each side of the road. Anyway, you're now know better. |
