Thank you very much. I understand this very well that you can only use up 25% of your RSA. I only became worried when she expressly said "no, you can't use it for pof".. As at when they switched from FSWP to express entry, a lot of Nigerians have been writing them telling them we can use 25% even thou no one asked them.. (Busy body). Now they are fully aware of the 25% ish. I just checked oanda this morning and I had a sudden heart attack. I have a family of 4 , I needed 5.7m as at yesterday, today, it is 6.7m. I don't even know what to say..
mehn I'm also worried now with this spike in CAD rate. I hope it won't affect my application since I'm already at IP2 stage. What stage are you at currently? Have u already submitted your eAPR?

You need $1790 if you use a Standard Chartered Bank Domiciliary account card (I paid the same amount) while I heard that GTB deducts $1950 for 2,380 CAD.

But Standard Chartered Bank has the best CAD to USD conversion rate.

Fantastic! Thank you

depends on your bank rate. dont follow what you see online that wont apply when you use your nigerian card. so I'll suggest you contact your bank for the rates.

I asked this question a few pages back and I think senior 40manlappy grin replied me... I didn't pay for my RPRF when paying for my application last month, so I asked if I should make payment but was adviced to wait till they ask.
Now cic has mailed me to pay and I already paid but I don't know where to upload the receipt... please someone should put me thru.

There's a placeholder for it, click on the "view submitted application" tab, a space will be waiting for u there to upload.

Not to worry at all.... physical exam is what he did for ma kids.
my daughter was being chatty anyway and so he took the cue and was pointing out letters and objects in d room for her to name.
My son was less chatty.....screamed his lungs out while being examined.
Noting to worry about kids shaaaa......nothing at all.

Hello, One more thing please. How did you get PCC in Port Harcourt? and how long does it take?

I decided to check my marriage certificate after reading this post and noticed my age and my husband's age was inputted wrongly. In the LOE what explanation should I give for why it occurred?
2) where do I get the marriage notification/announcement slip? Do I need Togo to the registry?

Thanks.

eemmmmhhhm angry angry
I think you can genuinely try to trace why/how the mistake was made.

eg in my case, i went to the registry in sept to announce my intention to wed at a later date in december....we filled some forms (my age at that tym was filled in) and some kinds of receipt/acknowledgemnt(eg registrars certificate, marriage notice ) was given us..also there was a wedding ban placed on d board which my hubby got a photocopy of (He is chronic document gatherer)
all these papers above had my date of birth on them
However b4 my wedding date, my birthday passed so i was technically older than the day i registered marriage notice. On my wedding day in december, the initial age(as at sept) was appended on the marriage certificate.
Na all this long long tory i carefully worded in my LOE while attaching all d docx mentioned.
But i think d most important documents were d birth cert and affidavit....not just stories

Like so many other people resident outside and far away frm lagos, I got a contact to help me submit at Alagbon. Get d forms and properly thumbprint it( u may use a police near u or DIY)...
Someone on this forum once shared d colored forms. the one i used was black n white. ...pls search d thread for d forms. anyone that has it can pls help pm it to him/her.
I paid higher @7.5k but for me, it was cheaper overall.

Hello,

Please let me pick your brain on this topic. I got married some 3 years ago and have a marriage certificate issued by the church, also my wife has a newspaper publication and sworn affidavit for her name change.

Now will this suffice as evidence of marriage or do I require a marriage certificate issued by the court?

Is the marriage certificate the normal Nigerian marriage cert? (pull up a sample frm google and compare it wit yours).
I ask cos some churches are licensed by the govt to conduct marriages and issue the govt marriage cert on d wedding day in d church (although the couple would have been made to go register d marriage @ the court).
Such certificates are therfore the acceptable ones...mine is exactly like that.

If however, what u have is your church's own marriage cert then i advise u go and register your marriage in court to obtain d govt certificate. be sure to attach a LOE and other evidence of d marriage(eg wedding pictures, baby dedication pics, family portrait, etc) in other to avoid unnecessary delays by ADR should d VO choose to scrutinize your certificate's recent date..

This is my own viewpoint and is in no way sacrosanct.

Greetings all! a few questions please...

While filling the EE form, under work history, is there need to enter in jobs i wont be able to provide reference letters for? kindly advice!

Also, concerning the provinces one intends to reside in, does what one fill in affect anything as my fiance is living in ontario and i intend to live there too but i wouldn't want to restrict myself on the application so i checked about 4 boxes. And certainly dont want to use the pnp route, too expensive for me.

Finally, if Ive got about 7 months validity left on my passport at the time its ready to be stamped (Speaking by faith grin), will they require me to get a new one at that time, immigration wont renew a passport with 7 months validity on it, i reckon.

looking forward to helpful answers

Thanks a lot @Calfy

calfy:

I will advise you not to use any agent. You can do it yourself.

The first step is to do your ECA (Education Credential Assessment). If you have a degree in Law and that's your highest qualification, then do your ECA with IQAS. In this case only evaluate your degree, no need to do the law school as well. IQAS evaluates law degree from Nigeria as a professional degree while other evaluating bodies don't. If your degree is not law then use WES. From my experience, WES is faster.

While your evaluation is going on, you can prepare for and take IELTS. Aim for a score of 8, 7, 7, 7 or better in Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.

When you have your ECA and IELTS result, create your EE profile and hope for the best.
