We should do well in the sniper frontier and depth competitions!!

Unless each country sends 1 candidate for shooting otherwise the Chinese will wipe the slate clean.

According to this report, Cape Town is likely one of the best places to run to if Donald Trump decides to start a nuclear WWIII with North Korea.

https://www.thesun.co.uk/living/1981979/here-are-nine-of-the-safest-places-in-the-world-to-survive-a-third-world-war/

As for me, I'm less likely to live in the waterless Cape. grin

This is an opportunity to recruit guys. Give citizenship to 200k Germans, 100k Brits, 500k South Koreans. This will be the leading country after WWIII, we would literally be the super power when everything else is a nuclear wasteland. We better save a few smarties while we can.

So how do they earn it? Give it to anyone who'll pass a CSIR prepared IQ test on first come first serve basis.

NB: Chinese are strictly forbidden, too much rhino horn loving.... No Indians as well, too much Gupta drama grin

Is it only me who often thinks Nigerian soldiers often have longer lower body in relation to the upper half?

Fun Fact. Not a new fact, but still fun fact. South Africa is developing an active off board decoy for its frigates to protect against in-coming missiles. As with how most of these systems work, the decoy is launched off the vessel as a missile approaches and draws it away using electronic magic. Thats the plan anyway. Various institutions have been working on this for a few years now.

Captured SADF Olifant Tank

Border war

Wonder what became of this tank. It's not at the FAPLA/FAA museum in Luanda, unlike most of the SADF vehicles they captured.

Kubinka Museum in Russia has some Angolan "spoils of war", maybe it ended up there.

Talk about simulators, I'm currently replaying Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising. I'm playing US Spec Ops in variety of missions from disabling SAMs, radio towers behind enemy lines to clearing flanks for mechanized (surprising the Chinese flanks on foot). Forget about Call of Duty and Battlefield rubbish, this is the approved simulator deal. 1 bullet takes you out at 400m. Bullet simulation is real, tactics are real. I feel like Frumentius for a second grin

Pah! Experience Battletek IV and you'll never go anywhere near stripped-down civvie sims again. And they've just developed Battletek V with VR goggles and everything. Higher was given a demo/briefing and when I prodded my boss, he replied, "NATO HQ is flying them to Brussels and that tells you all you need to know."
Suffice to say, I doubt we'll be getting Battletek V anytime soon. It's serious 1st world stuff with concomitant 1st world prices. And then the practicalities: our version of Battletek IV mirrors Chaka, so that we train as we fight and fight as we train (since replicated completely by the Malaysians and Brazilians and partially by the Angolans –for various reasons they’re only using it for their special forces). Battletek V would entail major upgrades to Chaka so as to retain the current symbiosis - upgrades currently we neither need nor can afford.
In other sim-related news, we’ve completed jointness integration across all 4 services which means JOps can now fuse all sim platforms into a coherent single military view. Ditto the operational environment through a fused C2 structure.
And then there are people who think simulation is nothing more than video game-playing!

No offence Frumie I'll probably nail your guys in a simulator... But honestly, you need bigger monitors, laptops are for toddlers smiley

Now that you mention it.. This tank was used as propaganda extensively. You had different Cuban soldiers posing next to it, in it and on top just to have those series of pictures published to make it look like more than one tank was "captured" when it actually abounded on a mine field.

Captured Angolan T-55, one of hundreds of captured high profile gear.

Like play like play, these people are getting serious with their rhetoric
Guam is preparing her citizens for a possible nuclear war with North Korea. It's circulating DOs and DON'Ts in case of a fallout on its social media pages.

Japan is also considering deployment of its PAC-3 (patriot) ADS. Seems Russia is also toying with that idea as well especially in the far east of the country.
India has halt the movement of commercial trains in its entire NE as well so as to give way for military train convoys.
I hope it's just war of word. "Fire and Fury", "Envelope of Fire", "Locked and Loaded". cheesy

Can't beat SA for surviving a full Thermo nuclear war. Fall-out will be concentrated in the northern hemisphere carried by the jetstream.

If the SANDF had a bigger budget, one wonders all the things the CSIR would be researching.

Anyways, who still remembers the "stealth tracking" CSIR passive radar?
