Well. I'm not from Benin. Nevertheless once your accept a chieftancy Title from a Traditional king, you must abide by the rules and regulations of the land. There is no short cut. It is either you accept or not.
Moreover if the story is true, No matter how big you are, you must pay homage to the king of your land or the land you live. This is customs in Africa. The man must have done something serious before the king can go to the extent of labeling him the enemy of the state.

If your people don't follow your traditional laws it's nobody's fault. The Benin kingdom still exists fully and the traditional laws are adhered to strictly.

People still go to the Oba to settle disputes among them. Stop bringing constitution into this matter.

Constitution that cannot solve your country's biggest problems when your president travelled out of the country for 100 days leaving his administration confused.

Leave the bini people to do what they want. Besides the oba didn't go against the constitution as you speak. There is something called customary law.

i don't know the offence of this man, but what happens to forgiveness. or even taking him to the law courts & administer the lawful justice. can a citizen even though highly placed, banish another citizen? life is precious, but life with stigma is awful.

You see all these equal rights nonsense you're talking about, they all were brought to us by the white man. African societies had efficient ways of enforcing and ensuring walfare and social justice. The traditional stool will always surpass that of any white man induced rules and regulations, we only obey for the sake of peace, unity and development but i'm sure as every other African knows when push comes to shove tradition will supersede. It isn't only in Nigeria, even in Ghana, the Ghanaians have much more reverence for the Asantehini and the other traditional rulers.

The Uneme people are very touchy about this subject,and ironically they have the most beautiful ladies in Edo and it is either a man from their place marry them or a stranger from outside Edo.

But never any tribe from Edo State.

you just said something I remembered my ex said.. ..she said it's forbidden for her to marry an edo since she is edo... Edo people don't wanna marry edo especially those in city. .they can't marry themselves. ..alot of things that's wrong with that tribe self.. .Am sorry to say.. .i have edo friends though
