Abuja is not expensive anything. I stay and work in Abuja and I settled down comfortably without any stress. Nothing is as costly as people think here.

Whether in sokoto or Abuja, you decide the kind of life you want. I will advise him to come to Abuja because if he can secure accommodation without getting work, then he will get a high paying job that he have in Sokoto

bro i beg u with God, accept this 80K in sokoto, try saving atleast 25% monthly, buy like 2 small cows, fatten them nd sell it big. use the money buy 3, later buy 4, rent a land @least 50k yearly. dump it there, continue to the next 2-3yrs. and sokoto is far cheaper than Abuja
