I will assume he is not as good as the current wingers. Or he can play better as a DMF than the rest at Yusuf's disposal.

BascoVanVeli:

I can't blame him too much. He is a winger who scored 12 goals last season being played at DMF.

Yusuf doesn't employ wingers in his 4-4-2. He basically packs the midfield and the full backs play more like wingers.

The Championship best XI this past weekend

I don't rate the championship. I'm sorry to say this. As far as am concerned, players in the Championship don't cut it for me.
I recall strikers like Gayle, Charlie Austin, Ince, bossing it in the Championship but stagnated when they stepped up to the Premiership. Its only on rare cases that you find the cherry drop like in the case of Delle Alli.
Ultimately, Premier league clubs loan youngsters to championship teams to toughen them up. No wonder top managers like the idea of Premier league teams having their feeder teams play lower league football like it is done in Spain.

I don't expect these names you listed to become household names in football in the foreseeable.

The jury is still out on Tammy Abraham.

Reminds me of the story a good friend of mine who went to France 98 narrated. He said when fans where making their way into the arena. Spanish fans would come over to the faces of Nigerian fans and scream, RAUL! RAUL! making gestures of 4:0.
When the game ended, they (the Nigerian fans) went to the faces of the Spanish fans and screamed RAUL! RAUL! grin
That's football for you. 90 minutes and then you'd know yourself. Upsets always happen and the SE have given football pretty good upsets. Doesn't matter how good a team is vis a vis the Super Eagles I always believe we will win. We can be defeated but my default position is to believe we will win. Even if we playing a combined squad of the best in the world I BELIEVE we will and can win. Let 90 minutes decide. So I align myself with Kog45.

Yes same Stanley.
He had returned to Nigeria from Almeria.
I think he joined Abia Warriors at first.

In 2009 he seemed exceptional youthful talent.

Really suprised he returned to Nigeria I expected he could at least have gone to Turkey, Sweden, etc.

On the other hand what is paid to youth players in the Segunda is slave wages. You could be on as little as €1500 a month in some cases less. It all depends on his agent he may have been manipulated and fleeced. In that circumstance return to Nigeria is much better.

Haba u call €1500 a month for an U20 player slave wages? Then what would u call Gombe United paying 40 thousand naira a month? :>wink)

The jury is still out on Tammy Abraham.

Dele Alli came out MK Dons, just like Gomez @Liverpool fc, Lookman @Everton both from Charlton add to that Holegate and Smalling from Barnsley all of these are league 1 clubs. Dominic Lewis from Sheffield United to Everton. That's too mention a few.

The two Crystal palace wingers came out of the Championship Zaha and Bolasie, arguably the best wingers in the Championship, add to that Michail Antonio West Ham, those are top quality players. Currently the best and most promising left back is Ryan Ssegnon he plays for Fulham current price over £30 million. Dembele at Celtic of which a bid of £50 million was refused from Chelsea, came out of the championship with Fulham. Oliver Burke left Nottingham forest for Liepzig in Germany.

I disagree with you completely.

The championship is better considerably better than the Turkish league and any other league rated below 10 in Europe. I would rate the championship higher than both the Dutch and Belgium leagues barring 2/3 top teams. Much higher than all the Nordic leagues for sure.

Britt Asombolanga plays for Middlesbrough fc price £15 million, he rejected premiership offers. He is better than quite a few premiership strikers.

You have to look at in context.

If you are on your own, then to rent a room in a house because you cannot afford an apartment, €400 a month, your bills €300 add living expenses and food and you are near broke. You certainly can not afford a car on that. Some even get less than that.

Compare that to a youth player trainee in the championship about £ 400-500 a week. If on a pro. Contract could be quite easily on anything from £1k to £15k depending on club and potential.

OK. That's good news. But we're sticking with Ikechukwu Ezenwa for the Zambia match. Akpeyi can sit on the bench. Ezenwa has earned his promotion with his performance against Cameroun. Compared with what we saw from Akpeyi against South Africa, Ezenwa is light years ahead. Literally!

Daninya11:
Rohr has received good news from Chippa United regarding the fitness of his experienced goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi.

The 31-year-old netminder missed Nigeria’s two World Cup qualifiers against Cameroon earlier this month due to injury, with Rohr not willing to take a risk to field him in both matches in Uyo and Yaounde.

can exclusively report that Daniel Akpeyi is now in tip-top condition, so much so that he has been named in the starting line-up for Chippa United’s clash against Baroka in the Premier Soccer League on Tuesday evening, barring any last minute change of mind by manager Dan Malesela.

The Super Eagle wanted to return to Chippa United as fit as possible and trained with a local club in Lagos before his trip to South Africa to rejoin his team after the international break.

In the current season, Daniel Akpeyi has no minutes under his belt in the league, whereas he was in between the pipes on 28 occasions last term from a possible 30.

Meanwhile, Rohr has expressed confidence in his team “I am not under any pressure at all. I watched the game yesterday night (Tuesday) and I am very confident the Zambian’s will fall when they come to Nigeria.
Rohr further revealed that he has no plan to change his winning team going into the crucial encounter with the Zambians on October 7 in Uyo.

“I will stick to the same tactics that saw us (Nigeria) see off Cameroon. I see no reason to change a winning team as the boys were fantastic and we must continue to work well as a team to ensure we have a proper team ahead of the World Cup in Russia next year,” hinted the Eagles supremo.

He admitted that he is very happy with the support Nigerians showed his team during the last round of matches of the Group B qualifying series.

Rohr urged all football-loving Nigerians to continue to support the Super Eagles in good and bad times, as he bids to build a formidable team capable of conquering not just Africa, but the world.

Gernot Rohr is expected to announce his squad for the crucial World Cup qualifier against Zambia in the next two weeks.

Bigger players have also had feuds with their clubs over playing U23's. He just played the club's last match he had no reason to play for the U23's. This was his decision to play the extra match and work on his fitness and it should be encouraged.

Definitely it is not 1985.

Even the wiki link says this.

In 1983 in Nigeria when Shehu Shagari was the President of Nigeria, an executive order was given to immigrants without proper immigration documents to leave the country or they would be arrested according to the law. Most of the immigrants were West Africans and mainly Ghanaians. Over 2 million men, women and children were affected by this news and decision of then President of Nigeria, Shehu Shagari

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghana_Must_Go

Not everything is up for a debate.
This is what I witnessed. Yes there was a similar pronouncement by Shagari in 1983 but how far that one was implemented I can't recall.

But the one I can vividly give account of was the one pronounced by Buhari in May of 1985. They were given only one week to evacuate and the then military government went ahead to forcefully eject them. I am giving you an eye witness account and not Wikipedia.
