I can assure you pretty much all the top coaches in the world at different times tried to sign the same players and many failed. The only difference is Wenger is a honest coach who can't keep his mouth shut about transfers.

We are looking at current status, not what happened past years.

Arsenal may beat Bayern if they meet this season.

The point is if Pep wins the league its no big deal since he has the most expensive squad. Not winning it therefore is a massive failure. Arsenal also have the luxury of finishing 5th having the 5th most expensive squad.

This also goes to prove that Pep can only win by a massing expensive players.
