I would say for section 2 which is map is to practice practice practice. Get use to directions. That is left and right side and North south east West. I suggest you map them out mostly left and right side on your map immediately your starting point is pointed out. Then give your full attention and follow direction. They sometimes have some street names or locations in map to help you navigate your self e.g the store is opposite the library , quickly look for the position of the library then u will know the building opposite it will be the store and that could be the answer.
For the section three i will say underline key points . Try and read each sentence during the short break and underline key points.it will help you know when exactly the speaker is talking about that sentence to enable you know the answer.
Note that the questions don't always come word by word but synonyms so you have to be good in that too.

Hope it helped

Thank you very much. Underlining key points in section 3 is good point to note. I appreciate

Note the highlighted.

He/she's not after only the points as he/she intends to add his/ her spouse after AOR.

To the best of my knowledge, what he/she intends to do is even bordering on misrepresentation.

I also had a weakness for maps. In my case, after much practice, i identified the problem to be a lack of familiarity with the descriptive words used to give directions. its not like i never heard them before but i was having about 2 seconds lag in picking them up. what i did was to study them and practice till my brain didnt need to buffer to figure the directions.

it is also important to figure the likely starting point in a map before the speaker starts, also try and relate the various locations to each other.

for lectures, your problem isnt the lecture, it is the question type (Multi choice questions), it is quite difficult processing all that information in the options while keeping up with the speaker. since the answer is always paraphrased, you have to listen to understand rather just lookin out for the right option. it is a herculean task to me and I havent found a panacea yet; sometimes i get lucky to follow up, other times i find myself hanging.

another nightmare for me is "matching" question type, the ones with more options than questions. again my problem is processing all those options at a go, i have tried writing the words i hear then checking for the option that fits much later, but there is hardly enough time to write.

Hopefully, someone would hint us on techniques that works fine for these.

Haha! I was just reading my exact predicaments in your post. The matching question type is not as problematic as maps and multiple choice. I really appreciate this. 1

Good morning All

Is it necessary for me to state that I have been denied visa in the ITA questionnaire form. Particularly since the refusal stamp is on an old passport? Any one with a useful advise. Much appreciated.
Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 2 by dupyshoo: 2:22am On Sep 24, 2017
You have to declare all visa rejections regardless of the time of the rejection or on the passport the rejection stamp is.

Your application won't be rejected because of past visa rejections but might be rejected for misrepresentation if you don't. So, it is wise to declare it.

I beg to differ. To the best of my knowledge, Option one is possible to the extent that you will be allocated points as a 'single' applicant if you have an 'unaccompanying' spouse'; meaning no need for ielts nor eca from spouse and you still maintain a high score.

The question to ask is does he intend leaving his spouse in Nigeria? Remember he is married. If he chooses that option, he may never be able to file for spousal visa or it'll take a longer time to do that after landing.

Don't worry, it will shift soon. I see you updated family information, so just take it as a file has just been opened for your baby and steps are in place to include him/her in your application. At least there is communication, so something is brewing smiley

Hmm this is getting interesting, please if there are married applicants in the house who have successfully added their spouses after AOR. Kindly bail us out as the elders would normally say "Experience is the Best Teacher"

There's no experience is the best teacher in this matter. If you add your spouse after AOR, you have misrepresented and may earn yasef a nice long ban. Because all your marriage documents will show you got married before the AOR date.

Some choose to say their spouses aren't accompanying. I don't know for sure how that works. Maybe sponsorship after you have landed? That's another long thing.

Enter pool with the 425 and keep your fingers crossed or convince your spouse to take the exam.
Those are your three options.

Don't worry bro. Your application appears to be moving going by the additional information that you supplied.

What's your timeline?

Thank you for the tip. I have had several visa and intl trips since then, so was considering not declaring for the past. Guess, I better stay safe than sorry. Will do as advised.

cheesy

Your application is moving pretty well. Don't allow the "speed of light" timelines to make you feel discontented, especially now that you have a new addition to the family.

Won't the wife need to take ielts and have eca done if he does this? I'm just trying to understand because I could be in the situation as I have ITA already and would apply soon. Does adding a spouse to your application have any implications?
nope.... It's easier.
Here's d thing once u r married ur scores drop except ur spouse does eca and write ielts....

Hello fam, just checked my IELTS results after getting "no results" numerous times.
Listening -8.5
Reading - 9
Speaking -7
Writing - 7.5

All praises to God!!
Thank you bigfido for sharing the prayer to St Joseph, thank you Glitteringstar, Kontagious,Cochtrane and all others who helped shaped my prep with tips and materials.

Diving into the pool asap as 40manlappy will say and hoping for a favorable draw as I've maxed out immediate avenues of increasing CRS, I should be on 415-419 if not mistaken.

God bless us all.
If u remark ur speaking will that not increase it?

Thanks @jergins. My apologies, the 425 score actually includes pending ECAs for both of us but no spouse IELTS. So the contention is actually centred around spouse's IELTS test. As advised by @Abby2017 we will dive in at 425 and update profile as soon as our situation changes if we haven't received an ITA by then.

Hi. If you're married, you have 2 options. (i) selecting married and say YES to spouse accompanying and ur spouse may or may not help u get d extra marks u need to beef up ur CRS depending on if u have great points or not. OR (ii) selecting married and say NO to accompanying spouse and ur CRS will be computed like as if u were a single applicant BUT you cannot come back to add ur spouse. Also, you cannot add ur spouse after ITA when your marriage date is date before ITA. That is misrepresentation. The only situation u can add spouse after ITA is when ur wedding/marriage was actually after ITA. And sure ur marriage certificate will corroborate the dates.
If you're considering saving cost by doing just one of ECA or IELTS for spouse, I'll rather let spouse do IELTS at lesser cost and aim at getting the maximum points of 20 than doing ECA at higher cost with plenty stress of transcript application and the maximum points spouse can get is 10 even with a PhD degree.

Hey dear, Thanks Yes I have received the certificate from the Evaluating body for Pharmacy (PEBC). Oh I mean I am not practising yet, However I did a year full time training as an intern pharmacist.
Deebay:

The answer is in what you posted above. This will be the date you got your b. Pharm. Degree
Why do you say you are not a registered pharmacist?
Have you evaluated your b. Pharm?

Hey try going on IELTS LIZ, her blog and videos are amazing. I had 6.5 in reading and writing the first time. After properly practising from the Cambridge books and Ielts Liz I had 7.5 in both.

cerezo:
Sorry bro, I will advise you register for another ielts, use ieltsbuddy.com for your writing by studying all the lessons under the writing section. I did same and my writing improved from 6.5 to 7.5. In addition to this, you can take a gamble by calling for EOR on your writing and probably speaking to see if the remark will change something. Never ever give up...

I'm a recent but keen follower of this noble thread. Although I only started reading 1 month ago. My dream to Canada has never been brighter.

I received my IELTS results yesterday and thanks to the tips and advice of seniors and insightful analysts on the thread suggesting sites like ieltsbuddy, ieltsliz. I was able to make:

LRWS - 8, 7.5, 7, 8.

Thanks guys you are too much... to all those who were disappointed at their scores, please don't give up. Whenever there's a will there's always a way. Delay does not mean denial

Now, Please I need some guidance on my application, I'm married but my spouse is not keen on taking the IELTS.

Scenario 1: I submit EE profile with a CRS score of 437 receive ITA apply get AOR then add spouse afterwards. I understand it's possible for singles that get married after AOR to do this. Can married couples do same?

Scenario 2: I apply from the onset as PA (MSc, 3yrs Exp) with my spouse (BSc, OND, 2yrs Exp) CRS score drops to 425 meaning my spouse would have to do IELTS; assuming a minimum score of 6,6,6,6 in L,S,R,W brings joint CRS to 435

Please elders in the house kindly advise as Scenario 1 (if possible) saves us time and money on spouse's IELTS and ECA

In the multitude of counsel there is safety.
Thanks ahead!!!
Scenario 2 is ur only option
Scenario 1 is not even possible.... When U add her what marriage certificate will u tender?
