thanks for your word of encouragement. where is junk yard?

there are junk yards in US and Canada, it depends on where the vehicle is coming from. however, if you can't source it there, don't worry, you will get them here. Ladipo, owode, will be a good place to source.

there are people on this forum, who can help you source for the parts as well.
keep us updated as things unfold. good luck.

That engine is between 900,000 and 1,000,000 naira in Lagos last time I checked.

Please try to compare the cost of getting same engine from the states/fixing in the states versus doing the same from Lagos assuming that is the reason for its non-drivable state.

MODIFIED:

I can link you up to a junkyard that I have patronized in the past.

I have not asked them how much they sell the engine but with online prices starting at $800 (or N 292,200.00) to $1,500 ( N 574,500.00) excluding installation costs, I think this is certainly an option worth researching.

There also exists the issue that you maybe getting an engine with pedigree that is almost impossible to do here, since they keep records like the VIN of the donor, the mileage when it was taken out to mention but a few.

I mistakenly bought a non-drivable car toyota corolla with rear accident from one of the auction sites in the US. and I can't cancel it.
After I clicked on buy now option I got an email from the site that my car is a none drivable. chaiii

I went back to the site and confirmed as that.

I am yet to make full payment though.

Those with experience with buying the non-drivable cars what is your take on this?

What were the issues with these types of cars?

lalasticlala please help your sister for feedback from the experts.
Take my advice, sell this car as part bits by bits, you will get your money back this way.

yes boss. You are right. But that price excludes shipping and fees.
I pray there is nothing wrong with the engine.
if You are bent on bringing this car to 9ja, look for people who do consolidated cargo, they have a one stop approach, you collect your car from thier ware house. They know how to dismantle a car to make it look like parts without damaging nothing.

did i tell you the engine is not working? being non drivable does not mean the engine is down. it could be due to battery or kick starter or the rear impact that affected the tyres's movement.

Reset the fuel pump inertia switch, could possibly be tge problem. Since the vehicle was impacted from the rear

THANK YOU VERY MUCH AUTOJOSNG for this. But how did you know the price I got the car for? just curious

Source the parts completely from the US junkyard and bring it to Nigeria

don't buy any part in Nigeria you might be unlucky not to get the right parts or not get it at all in Nigeria

Don't have any but you find from the US and online but don't get the idea you can get the right parts for that car in Nigeria

Get all the required parts in the US before bringing that car to nigeria.

Just an advise

(1)Can be returned to auction, but you will definitely be fined. Your account can be terminated at most.
(2)if you are boxed up, you can buy a drivable small truck in addition that can haulage the car at the back, ship all and clear all. More expensive that way, but you can now sell the truck.
Good luck

What if the truck turns out also to be non-drivable? May be he should now bid for a crane to haul both.

Pay the fine and leave this car alone the stress is never worth the money.

Just accept your fate

If you continue with this venture you might end up wasting your money, time, energy and lose sleep

Don't die oooo
