Great relationship off the pitch always translate to great understanding and consequent good performances on the pitch. Just ask MSN (Messi, Suarez & Neymar) when they were together at Barca.

Just hoping that they're gonna continue like this. Who knows, they might be the newest African version of Ferdinand/Vidic or Terry/Carvalho partnerships

With the players he has at his disposable they should be playing better.

Rohr reminds me of all the useless European coaches who have squandered all the talent that Cote D'Ivoire has had over the past 15 years. Yes, they'll qualify but they don't do so with any great conviction and they don't do well at tournaments.

I know some of you don't have technical knowledge of the game, but it's good you learn a bit about the game. The Zambian was actually offside. He moved ahead of the ball and was inches away from the Nigerian defender. The lineman was quick to catch him on that to call that off. It wasn't a favour!

The central defence partnership of Leon Balogun and William Troost-Ekong has earned praises from the coach of the Nigeria national team Gernot Rohr for their performance in the 1-0 win over Zambia which secured Nigeria a spot at next year World Cup.

Balogun and Ekong have been the favourite pair for Rohr since he took over as coach of the Nigerian team a year ago, and Nigeria is yet to lose a game with the pair in defence.

Speaking to the press after their 1-0 win yesterday, Rohr admitted the performance of the duo played a big role in helping Nigeria see out the Zambians especially when they mounted pressure in search of a goal.

“When you know if you have to win to qualify and you’re playing at home it puts you under pressure than the other team who are playing away”, the coach said.

“But our players were very strong mentally and we have very physical players like Balogun and Ekong as centre backs so we have this behind , and a goalkeeper (Ezenwa) who has confidence also which is also very important”.

Stop being ridiculous. Everyone saw it on replay that the match officials got it right that the player came from an offside position. And the whistle went before he kicked the ball.

It was not a goal so the question of "disallowed does not arise.
The whistle went at least 3 seconds before he touched the ball and everyone stopped playing.He just pretended not to hear
