I am really appalled by a feature on Nairaland's Frontpage today which reads:

"Panic In Ondo State As Students Refuse Vaccines From Military (Photos, Video)".

The annoying thing here is that there is no place in the video or pictures where any military personnel is seen with any vaccine or attempting to vaccinate anyone.

The fact that there is massive hysteria in the land does not mean Nairaland should promote and keep perpetuating it.

Fine, children are panicking and running without seeing any military vaccinating anybody and this should be reported but to ascribe it to any military vaccination is very dubious.

I hereby challenge anybody making a claim to the contrary to bring real evidence not people running from any imaginary fear of vaccination by the military.

Seun, Lalasticlala, Mynd44, Mukina2.

See this as a call to do the right thing. Ensure there are standards for reporting things on front page and you can also put this challenge there.

We have a duty to ensure that this vicious cycle of mass hysteria stops before it gets out of hand.

The Islamists are here again.
We don't want to get the metaphysical vaccines that turns people into jihadi zombies. Let them go give it to NE refugees.

So you expect the person who captured those pics/vids to go so close to an army man and snap/video him.
You want them to N. Kanu the person right ? Clap for yourself.
I hope the SE episode is imaginary also.

I stay in Ondo state and from my own end, the students came back home. In fact, the LG workers even made a rally round the town with a megaphone to inform everyone on the fact that it's only the LG or federal dispensary that has the right to vaccination programme, hence everyone should reject any form of vaccination from anywhere and if possible, we should call the police.

Tbh, I don't know what exactly the military are driving at. They never made any campaign to inform people of what they are doing nor told us the name of the vaccines yet they rushed to schools to inject our wards. I hope the Fulani are not putting Adeyinka's word into practise because he was the one who bragged about fighting the Fulani with biological weapons. Who knows they could have seen something valuable in his statement? The Fulanis are even worse today because unlike in the olden days, they are now educated and know whatzup, not to mention they have the president, Buhari enabling them.

How are we sure that the same people who took the pictures and then posted them online are not the same people dressed in camouflage while wielding syringes just to cause pandemonium?

I have done my research well and I know IBB was the hero that actually saved Nigeria from Buharis first bad leadership and Abacha was a far better leader than Buhari can ever dream off , Abacha grew the economy but has never grown any economy, Buhari has killed more people unjustly that Abacha ever dreamt of ..

In this your brilliant submission, you still failed to tell where any military personnel was vaccinating anybody. I know what mass hysteria is and all the symptoms, you are simply perpetuating it despite your obvious attempt to seem rational.

This has gone beyond that, yes it is IPOB miscreants that generated the falsehood but the jettisoning of common sense by people is independent of that.

A single person can perpetuate a lie. This madness will eventually stop because people will realize eventually that their children have to go to school and they have to earn a living. However, things like refusal to be vaccinated for diseases like Polio and Measles is likely to lead to their resurgence.

Are you sure you want to celebrate being an agent of such?

I expected you to comprehend who an illiterate is. And if you truly do, it should be obvious to you that the person you quoted doesn't fall into that category.

That said, I was also expecting you to scold the Nigerian Army for causing unnecessary panic in the country though their unprofessional attitudes.

But then, who am I to correct you?

It shows that not all Yoruba people are stupid.

Till today, the hopeless fools have not told us what disease the vaccine prevents.
