Oga ceejay, my own 10w fan is still working well o, bought 2 sef and dey still doing a great job so far oo, buh how do u mean by this new one is 100times better, in terms of watts or durability or speed, cus all I can see that this new one does ova the former is dat it rotates and has a covering for the blades...besides can u pls shed more light on its wattage consumption.. I no too understand d 12v something.. Thanks

he sold to me for 4k, the formal one burns out when u put it ON and it finds it hard to roll the blade,the coil burns out after a while of trying to roll and doesn't succeed, but this one does a lot, the cool breeze sef na die, I wished I saw it on time, I have bought 3 of the 10w fan and all are dead....
I trust Nairalanders no go wan spend extra cash on 12v or 24v adapter,
instead of spending about 1k on adaptor ,just cut the fan car charger plug off,
look very closely,it has two wires one is (black)negative and the other is (black & white)positive, tighten it on the 12v battery and then use the On and off switch of the fan to put on and off,
notice: u can't use a 24v fan on yr 12v inverter connection, procedures for 24v fan connection on batteries is different and only apply to a 24v battery connection

I bought 15k 1000w inverter. It was working well. But when I upgraded to solar panel, it damaged by standing fan.
The fan now makes a humming sound and doesn't blow.
I bought another fan and the same thing happened few minuted ago.

I dnt trust ur inverter, mayb u even bought a modified sine wave, get a pure sine wave, u shud b fine

Wow I finally got to the last page (page 120) so far. I had to start from the very first page to read and it took me over a week to get here......I must say big kudosssss to ceejay80 for opening this thread and big thanks to other gurus that have contributed to d thread cos it has opened my mind to alternative ways of getting light.....wished I came across this thread earlier on....its over 2months now since transformer scatter for my area and no light....I hope to venture into this project once I save some cash atleast for laptop and light...

I'm the one who purchased a mercury inverter 3kva and two 200ah battery from you. I've been trying to reach you through WhatsApp kindly respond. The inverter is faulty after we installed and its not converting from DC to AC.
We tried using just a bulb instead of direct connection to the main switch inverter gives a long sound, changes LCD display from blue to Red and doesn't give any light to the bulb as well.

the 12v DC fan can only be powered by a 12v 5A and above adapter,
I bought another fan today and tried to power it with a 12v 1A and 12v 1.5A adapter and it didn't roll the fan blade but it was vibrating sha!!!
now I connected both fan to the 12v 5A adapter together and it powered both fan together,
u can still connect the 12v fan directly to ur 12v battery without an adapter and it will work still.
I bought a smaller blade fan type, same manufacturer, just that the
head is smaller, I bought 3,500
will upload pics of both soon

Fashola gave the advice in Lagos at a book launch.

I bought 2 tokunbo 40ah deep cycle battery and the guy helped me get a ups with transformer to charge it and showed me the connection.
The ups shows charging light but combined 80ah battery can't charge my tab fully before it's exhausted.
I don't use any other appliance with the setup. I just intend to use it to charge power bank and phones, at least for now.
Could it be the batteries that are bad or its the ups alone that can't charge them properly.
do I need to get a charger for the batteries.

can u check how much amps it drew when on full load?

5amps is a lot of current at 12volts o.

the fan is cheap and brand new, the wattage is not on the pack or on the fan but its 12v and not 220v like the first one,
the fan is available in 12v and 24v so tell them the one u want, its better than the first one, I bought today at arena market
it also has on and off switch
