Gazzuz, can you please compare the Peugeot 407 with the V6 Petrol engine against the one with a 2.0l petrol engine both with manual transmissions in the areas of engine reliability, performance and efficiency. Thanks

if you have good roads, V6 is a better option.

If roads are bad, both cars are not suitable for use.

What do you recommend for my situation below?

Car: 2007 Camry,
Gearbox type: Automatic "13 pin"

I recently had the valve body and "fiber" (do they mean solenoid?) replaced since my gearbox was shifting hard and not going passed 1st gear. After fixing, the gearbox guy adviced that when I drive I need to take it slow while the brain box can get used to the changed valve body and "fiber". It all seemed fine for 2 weeks then...

Yesterday, after driving above my usual 60km/hr on the express, my check engine light comes in and after using my scanner, the error code P0741 shows up. I've Googled the error code and it's "P0741 TOYOTA - Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid Performance".

From forums and YouTube videos they say the torque converter should be changed. Is this correct in your opinion? What do you recommend?

Thanks

Got a 2009 corolla xrs with the 2.4 engine and 5 spd gearbox, the wheels wobble between 20 to 30 mph, after that it stabilizes . Taken car to bomaco and others for wheel balancing, they say it's the shaft. Changed shaft twice still same issue. Any advice

Wonder what could have just killed your TC. Look for a tech with capable scanner and test the TCC solenoid (SLU) with ignition on, and engine off. If the solenoid is good, you will hear it click on and off. You must put your ear close to the box to hear the clicks.

If it clicks, the solenoid is good. If it doesn't, solenoid is bad or computer instruction not reaching it.

If it clicks, start engine and while in drive and foot firmly on brake, activate SLU and see if the engine dies. If it doesn't, you have a stuck TCC relay valve in your VB.

If engine dies, you have a slipping TCC or wrong internal part.

When lockup is commanded, the computer is looking for zero difference between the engine RPM and the transmission input speed. Once it sees any drop, TCC code is set. However, if a wrong drum or differential is installed, it will distort the computer's input signal, which it would see as a slip.

Hope this helps.

if only when a.c is on, possible culprits are a dirty condenser, faulty radiator, fans spinning in wrong direction
