Talking about tithing, you as a Christian should obey Gods commandment. Jesus spoke about tithing in Matthew 23vs23. Play your part and leave God to do the rest. Paying of tithe and giving of offerings isn’t by force but it’s a commandment.

The truth is they have no defense against Deu 14: 22-29. You will never hear it preached in any church. That is where God laid the foundation for tithe. In that section of the bible God gave the reason why you tithe and what you should do with your tithe. In fact the directives in that portion of the Bible is so emphatical, it is "thou shall". No questioning the directives.

The "Pastorprenuers" who rather pretend this portion of Gods commandment does not exist so they can continue to "shopulate" what is meant for you, the widows, the strangers, orphans and the Levites (the pastors). It is a question of greed, the Pastorprenuers wants total control of the tithe instead of the portion that your are supposed to give them (as a portion to the Levites) at your discretion.

I put it forward to all that believe in tithing that you are committing sin by going against the commandment of God as given in Deut 14: 22-29 if you give your tithe to the church or to the Pastor. That means you fear the Pastor or Church more than God.

You can tell that this ha nothing to do with truth.

My dear, away from the main topic let me teach you the scripture you quoted rightly. The scripture wasn't directed to men of God specifically. Please, do well to see Psalm 105:9-22. But later, read from the beginning to the end which is verse 45. Touch not mine anointed and do my prophet no harm as seen in verse 15 talks about the journey of the children of Israel(Jacob), that is, the twelve sons of Jacob. The Covenant made to Abraham in verse 9, which Jacob inherited was also with his sons, and they are the anointed of God, and prophets unto him, see verse 16, it talked of the famine in the land, but remember that Joseph had already been sold to Egypt as revealed in verse 17. And it was Joseph that saved them from that famine. What am I saying; I am saying that that verse (touch not mine anointed) is not for men of God in our generation alone, IT IS FOR EVERY ADOPTED CHILDREN OF GOD, because 1 John 2:27 tells us that we have received anointing from God (NKJV). You yourself, you are anointed and also a Prophetess because you are God's maid servant (Acts 2:17-18) and the Spirit of God resides in you.

So, let us gain more knowledge in God's things and read full scriptures, not just quotations. If you see the whole of Psalm 105, you will see that it is a brief summary of the journey of children of Israel and the covenant God gave them since Abraham's time till they acquired the land of the gentiles which is Canaan. There's no need for this back and forth arguments. Anyone who feels spiritually inclined to pay should do so. Those who don't are also free to do as they wish.
Some would rather give to charity, widows, orphans etc.

I think it's more important to know what is being done with the tithe. In most orthodox Churches, the annual reports show details of income and expenses. In fact what is collected weekly is reflected in the Sunday bulletin. It's easy to know if there's misappropriation of funds.

The excessive display of wealth by some Pentecostal pastors seems to be at the root of this media war. With the level of poverty today, people may feel aggrieved but God is the ultimate judge. He never fails.
