Yes, in most parts of the Nigeria a bag of rice, which used to sell forvN 20, 000 had fallen to N13500 or below. This fall can be attributed to Buhari’s cooperation with Benue State. Recall that Benue recently passed a law aimed at introducing commercial ranches, so that the tensions that have led to farmers abandoning their farms and herdsmen being at loggerheads with host communities reduce. According to Governor Samuel Orton of Benue State, he told Buhari of his plans to sign the law, and Buhari assured him of his cooperation. Since these events happened, first the price of garri, and now the price of rice have fallen. As Buhari still has 2018 and 2019, we expect s continued rollback against the effects of recession. Already the anger on people’s faces and the complaints are reducing. But Buhari cannot relax now. If he continues at this rate to push.back against recession by introducing, supporting and implenting positive policies, by 2019 he will ride to a landslide victory, and Igbo Presidency will build on his accomplishments in 2023. We call on Buhari to come out more openly in support of commercial ranching. He should also grant the herdsmen funds to buy land and build more irrigated ranches. Funds should also be given to farmers to put into their farms for better yields.
